santaclaws:It will actually get to one year soon. Many people have been creating accounts on the digital portal even though they're not ready. So the wait time will not reduce unfortunately. |

Hannania:Wow 😮 But the waiting list can't be joined till you've uploaded all necessary documents. So if it's those who aren't ready, that means they're uploading random documents? Hopefully that won't be the case. |

Please what can we upload to join the waiting list? i read on whatsapp group that the sponsor appointment letter can be uploaded for now, is that right? And does it mean we have to wait for 6 months? do you think they might give appointment within the months? pls clarify, Thanks for everything you do here, you are much appreciated @Hannania |

Hannania:Of course 23 million naira is not a joke. However, do you have any information that could help? On a second note, I'm already thinking about printing my account page from Fintiba to submit as my proof of funds in order to get in the queue, hopefully I will block the funds before it gets to my turn. Do you think that's a good idea? Will it affect my application? |

Opened up my Expatrio account, awaiting approval but I have already gotten an email for health insurance. I am in the stage of submitting supporting documents. For School reports, I am thinking primary school testimonial, primary school testimonial and WAEC result. For University degree does the school certificate suffice or I have to also add a transcript? Because each tab supports uploading one document, do I merge everything for each tab as one document and upload it? or do I upload one there and the rest to Other Documents tab?

okonkwofabian51:If you're using a point based system, you'll be asked to bring proof of employment from your employer |

Daniel2802:Merge the documents and upload as a single entity |

Daniel2802:Hi Sorry out of curiosity, when you say you are in the stage of submitting supporting documents, does it mean the embassy has contacted you ? Or you are just uploading the documents prior to getting contacted ? when did you register on the portal. I’m asking because I want to get a rough idea of what the timeline for mine would be. I registered sometime mid February and I’m yet to be contacted. |

nnanyelugo1:What is Declaration of Commitment? |
| Re: Migrating To Germany For Free : The Chancekarte Discussions by Nobody: 3:36am On Mar 21, 2025 |
Dikaaachi:Ask the sponsor to check the ausländerbehörde's portal of his city for steps or he/she can work in and request formal requirements(Usually for smaller cities). The letter is called Declaration of Commitment (Verpflichtungserklärung) and make sure it's for Chancenkarte. They'll request payslips, house contracts, etc, then carry out a creditworthiness on the sponsor before issuing the letter. You'll need it to be shipped to Nigeria because you need to submit the original on the day of your interview |

Aa skilled applicant, do we also need to prove employment details? Hannania: |
| Re: Migrating To Germany For Free : The Chancekarte Discussions by PhilexOG: 7:09am On Mar 21, 2025 |
Hannania:How long would this normally take ? |
| Re: Migrating To Germany For Free : The Chancekarte Discussions by PhilexOG: 7:12am On Mar 21, 2025 |
victorygiven:Yeah I know that. But you are still in the queue at that point waiting for your documents review. I have uploaded everything except the block account proof and heath insurance, I’m waiting to move to the document review stage before I would then do those ones. Atleast that’s what I understand from this thread |

Hannania:Thank you. |
| Re: Migrating To Germany For Free : The Chancekarte Discussions by Daniel2802(m): 7:32am On Mar 21, 2025 |
PhilexOG:The latter. I'm uploading prior to getting contacted. I started the process this week. |
| Re: Migrating To Germany For Free : The Chancekarte Discussions by Daniel2802(m): 7:36am On Mar 21, 2025 |
PhilexOG:I think you have to submit all the mandatory documents before they let you pass the document review stage. You know the health insurance is on the additional documents part (you can bring it later during the interview) but the proof of financial support document is compulsory. |
| Re: Migrating To Germany For Free : The Chancekarte Discussions by Nobody: 7:55am On Mar 21, 2025 |
PhilexOG:As I said, depends on your city. Reach out to your sponsor |
| Re: Migrating To Germany For Free : The Chancekarte Discussions by Nobody: 7:57am On Mar 21, 2025 |
okonkwofabian51:Go and register and input your details on the score counter. You'll then see all the required documents needed on your portal. |
| Re: Migrating To Germany For Free : The Chancekarte Discussions by okonkwofabian51: 9:01am On Mar 21, 2025 |
@ Hannania I have checked the digital.diplo and it didn't require employment contract however on the general website for a skilled worker you requirement statement from employer Work contract Payslip Motivation Letter Pls which should I go with Thank you so much for all your help |
| Re: Migrating To Germany For Free : The Chancekarte Discussions by Nobody: 10:22am On Mar 21, 2025 |
okonkwofabian51:Forget the general website. Upload only the documents on the digital portal. Before your interview, they'll create a unique checklist of documents for you to bring along on the interview day |

someone said if you haven't upload block account you are not yet on the waiting queue PhilexOG: |
| Re: Migrating To Germany For Free : The Chancekarte Discussions by PhilexOG: 8:09pm On Mar 21, 2025 |
victorygiven:This gets more confusing, from Hannania post I read earlier, what I got from it was that, you can upload the document for now, but the embassy would have to contact you for when it gets to your turn for document review |
| Re: Migrating To Germany For Free : The Chancekarte Discussions by Nobody: 8:57pm On Mar 21, 2025*. Modified: 11:01am On Mar 22, 2025 |
PhilexOG:You do this to beat time. This way you join the waiting list. When they ask you to send for preliminary review, you have to add your BA or SL else they won't check other documents |
| Re: Migrating To Germany For Free : The Chancekarte Discussions by victorygiven: 9:55am On Mar 22, 2025 |
do you mean we are automatically on the waiting queue if you uploaded some documents even without the Sponsorship letter or blocked account? i do not think so, someone posted on WhatsApp group, she uploaded her SL, then the website says you are now in the waiting queue, without that if you uploaded other documents i think you are not in the queue yet, i stand to be corrected, thou under the documents section i saw discard application request, does that mean someone is in their waiting list? @Hannania Hannania: |
| Re: Migrating To Germany For Free : The Chancekarte Discussions by Nobody: 11:01am On Mar 22, 2025 |
victorygiven:Stop all your assumptions and apply. It's not a debate, you'll see it for yourself. |
| Re: Migrating To Germany For Free : The Chancekarte Discussions by santaclaws: 12:29pm On Mar 22, 2025 |
victorygiven:You're actually correct. It's when you're done uploading the documents that you officially join the waiting list. While you're still uploading, you'll be able to see the current waiting time, but you won't be part of the list until you're done uploading. That was why I felt it's actually wrong to blame the waiting period on Nigerians "collecting space" cos you cannot really join the waiting list till you're done uploading all necessary documents. |
