Bright Osayi is starting. Bruno on the bench.

Looks like one of Aina or Osayi is playing LB today while the other plays RB.

Good line up if true.
I see nothing wrong with it except Bruno for Osayi

TheSuperNerd:
And it shows the reports are right afterall.

Iwobi picked ahead of Onyedika to pair Ndidi in a central midfield 2. Or this could be a diamond.

Chellechukwu's first Super Eagles 11 ever....

Nwabali; Aina, Ekong, Bassey, Osayi; Ndidi, Iwobi, Chukwueze, Simon; Lookman, Osimhen.

Waiting for SE acct to confirm it.
Just one change. The journos' reports almost nailed it. Osayi in for Bruno is the only difference.

Starting with 2 fullbacks (Aina and Osayi) with energy to burn and excellent recovery speed.

From this our line up. The midfield of Ndidi & Iwobi will make it easier for Rwanda to overrun. Chukwueze and Lookman have poor defensive work rate including iwobi in fighting to recover possession. That our right flank today will be a weak link. Defending set piece is also our weakness.
Lookman poor defensive work rate?
Wow

the formation is not everything. it's a matter of how the players execute the plan. if they will be defending as a unit the midfield will get some help when it needs it. But i remain skeptical.

That midfield of iwobi and ndidi looks very thi, i hope chelle has a clear plan on how we would defend when we dont have ythe ball else we would be over run in that aspect of the game.

U give the Rwandese too much respect, they don't have the caliber of players we hv in the midfield.

Aah, not impressed with that midfield.

Ndidi doesn't have the lungs, legs and workrate anymore.

Iwobi is a CAM who excels passing-wise but is lightweight defensively in terms of marking and closing spaces. Also, doesn't do well playing from deep.

We are effectively ceding the midfield to Rwanda with this starting 11.

Anyway, 90 minutes will tell.

3 midfielders would have been better if Lookman is pairing Osimhen upfront, because Ndidi is no longer what he used to be.

I wish the SE 3 points

An inversion into the midfield from Calvin Bassey can solve that. We also have to keep an eye on the tactical shapes, positioning and movements to judge if we have a good chance with Chelle.

Aina also has the ability to invert. Same with Osayi.
