Besides, there were no young players tournaments during their time. If we checked very well, most of Oshimen goal as at were from World Understand 16 games he participated twice. This is not undermining his achievement so far.
What are you even saying

oshimen was born and brought up in Lagos
Wow, never knew he's a Yoruba boy, am sorry for saying he's an Edo guy. If Obasanjo was born and brought up in Anambra, that makes him an Igbo guy, am just learning new things now, thank you.

Uche Ikechukwu scored 19 goals—a remarkable feat for a defender, outscoring some strikers. And possibly in fewer matches too. Back then, teams played fewer than 10 games a year, except during Nations Cup years.
Not the same person.
IK was a striker.
OK was the gentle giant in Westerhoff"s golden team.

Yoruba and tribalism ,is this what Awolowo hatred and envy have grouded u guys reach? Always like to measure dick with other tribes What has this your chidish comparism got to teach us now? As if you guys were not the one that introduced tribalism in both politics and football in Nigeria? Everything in you guys eyes is all about comparism with other tribes? For you is all about my tribe this my tribe that, as if your tribe did not favour yoruba in selecting players who will bribe their way in to national team to be selected to represent Nigeria.Overhipe is what yoluba is known for.Just look at how terrible and useless your minigod Tilefnubu has messed this country econony ,even making a clueless Buhari looks like a saint...When u tell you people yoruba race is all amount making mouth, u guys will call us vad names, just see the report card of your jagapan flaud? Everythibing is messed

haybhi1:
Cool. I see him beating Yakubu soon.

But honestly, I'm super proud of us Yorubas and our myriad, positive contributions to this county. Of the top 5 highest goal scorers in Nigerian history, 4 are Yorubas (outside Osinmen). About other sports have our feet too. Football, track, and so on. All these despite the limited resources. We're some of the greatest and intelligent people, I believe.

Congratulations Osimhen,
Meanwhile see your Ballon D'or hopeful and World Best below...
See terrible statistics.. This is what Media Hypemen can do. They can hype someone like Buhari till the world would move to recognize him with a Nobel prize in Physics and Medicine.

For the First Time, The president of Brazil is moving in angrily, threatening to drop a Brazilian player (Vinicius)
Such an embarrassment to Pele, Garrincha, Romario, Fenomeno, Rivaldo, Dinho, KaKa Adriano, Fabiano, and Neymar.
On a Good day, this Guy won't smell the bench of the Brazilian National Team.
Still the best player in their squad

Whoever you think is better than him now, kindly provide their stat for last season

Give Osi his flowers jare.

Watch how some Nigerians will say most of his goals is inconsequential, same people that are mounting on Ronaldo to marry Georgina.

😂😂😂😂😂

Osimhen can set a new record if he becomes more clinical in front of goal which is possible. Congratulations to him on this one

Yekini was hailed as goal king because at the ease he scored goals.

Oshimen will definitely outscore yekini in the next 3/4 years.

He will surely overtake Yekinni. It's so inevitable.

But Osihmen's goals lack the quality of Yekinni's.

Be analytical informed and don't misunderstood me.
What l am saying in response to that post of a defender so good to be among higher scorers for Nigeria is an achievement. Then I said that , and you can prove me wrong that most of that 25 Oshimen goals were from his younger Africa and world football tournaments. In other words, if there were such during the time of Yekini and co , they too could have gotten more goals for Oshimen to compete with now. I am not saying he can not surpass them. Record is always there to be broken.

You are still saying trash
Goals he scored in under age tournaments were not added to his senior career goals

He will obviously overtake Yekini.
Just a matter of time.
Obviously?

12 goals may look a small feat but it doesn't always work like that especially in international football.

I think the yardstick isn't accurate.
It should also be measured alongside the number of matches played too.

For example:
If I play 10 matches and score a total of 57 goals compared to someone who played 38 matches and scored 63 goals, please who's is the GOAT 🐐?

Osimhen will hit 100 goals for Nigeria if he is injury free and if Nigeria plays more games. He is still very young.

Meanwhile, where is the name of the most celebrated Kanu Nwankwo and J J Okocha on the list?
Okocha is a Midfielder and Kanu have won more CAF Best than any of them..
Goals are not the only important stat in football.
Something Ronaldo and his legion of minions like you fail to appreciate.

37 goals ain't that much.
The only spectacular thing about it is that he did it in about 60 games.

It's about the highest goal scorer.
Number of games scored in is secondary.
If I score 30 goals in 38 EPL games ,I'm still the highest scorer compared to you that scored 25 in 25..

First of all.
Osimhen did not participate twice in the U16 as that is not allowed.
Secondarily, this stat is about the Senior team and not the age grades.

Hello, for your information, under age competition goals don't count. The goals that are counted are goals for super eagles (senior team)

Congratulations to Osimhen.

Only injury can stop him.

He might even score further 6goals in our remaining 5 WC matches.
Then there is AFCON next year...

which one be land grabbers grin grin grin
Osanoghodua1:
If the top 10, 4 are from Edo State. Growing up , Edo had raw football talent, lack of sponsors usually truncate their talents.

I usually leave Benin city to spend holidays in my father's village where we have a perfect football pitch. Everyone I met in the village usually would bench me, I am not a prolific player, Just gifted with speed and the ability to mesmerise my opponent not a good team player hence the benching. Those guys where really really good. They usually have a match against a club from the city and Play like men.

These days, land grabbers, Yahoo and cultism have dent the talents in my beloved state.
