I grow red scotch bonnet pepper (rodo) but mine is a heirloom OPV I bought from a local farmer over here. I have been replanting the seeds for the past 4years and have been getting good results.

Have you considered growing ghost pepper or Carolina Reaper pepper?

For me, market determines the variety of crop I cultivate. I prefer cultivating crops that have existing demand in my selected market to avoid stories that touches the kidney and lungs after a successful hectic production.

I don't think the growing process of a Carolina Reaper pepper plant would be too different from that of the scotch bonnet pepper that you grow currently. I think if the Carolina Reaper can be successfully grown in Nigeria, there would be a huge demand it.

Will be too hot/spicy to use for sauce. Over here at my location, the stew/sauce prepared by most South Westerners (buka/canteen inclusive) contains 60-70% rodo. If the pepper is too hot, the won't be able to use much and this impacts on the volume and aroma of the sauce.

I wouldn't want to laboriously produce the pepper just to struggle with sales. That's the major reason I prefer producing to satisfy existing demands.

I get your point. I have some Carolina Reaper seeds and I would like to collaborate with a pepper farm to see if this can be grown in Nigeria.

If the seeds are still viable, it most likely will give a good performance. I'm open for an experiment of a few reaper seeds if you don't mind.

I'm not looking to sell. I want to see if it can be successfully cultivated to fruiting in Nigeria. I know that when planted it will grow.

Where's your location so that we can run the experiment? I'll like to see my customer's reaction to its hotness.

If you can, a visit to my farm is okay. If you cannot visit, I may be at Ibadan before next weekend. Can you drop your digits so I'll call before embarking on the journey.

Great.
Means you have seeds that have not been modified (GMO)
Please, guard them diligently
