That's total nonsense. Why choose opponent's home ground for the supposed home team?? Africa sha!

NFF really need to complain if that's true.
i doubt Zimbabwe will play home to SA in SA, i feel they deliberately took Benin to SA becos of large fan base in SA….they will most like fixed there next home game in another country when they wanna face SA in their home game….they were initially using Rwanda for their home games when they started the qualifiers

wish Yekini was alive to witness his goal scoring beast replica….
watching highlights of our 90-98 super eagles then we must agree that Yekini and Osimhen possess similar striking aura
1. rugged sprinting to score a looping cheeky goal
Rwa vs Nig (Osimhen second goal)
Nig vs Gabon (Yekini second goal)

2. charging/wrestling a defender to win a ball
Cam vs Nig (Osimhen wrestling a defender to make an assist to lookman at the afcon)
Nig vs Zaire(Yekini second goal charge at the defender that led to a penalty goal)

3. long leg instinct

4. Talking or charging boisterously with hand command and face gesture after scoring a goal or after a missed attempt as though you were the team leader or captain

This is what we need in a super eagles striker…
-boniface
-awoniyi
-Tolu
-Dessers
-Sadiq
-Onuachu
-Moffi
-Orban
all these guys need to study the above points.

we also enjoyed some part of these striking aura with the likes of
-Obafemi Martins(sprinting striker)
-Odion Ighalo(bullish striker)
-Ikechukwu Uche(sprinting striker)
-Julius Aghahowa(long leg/sprinting striker)
abeg abeg abeg, super eagles dont need strikers that turns his back at opponets keepers…
CHARGE THAT DEFENSE!!
BULLY THAT DEFENDER!!
SPRINT PASS THAT DEFENSE!!
and see the way 9ja fans will love you
But omo Rashidi get shot. Outside bullet

And funny enough, a Benin win wont be much of a favorable result for us. So draw is the ideal and that doesn't occur easily.
A Benin win is good for us because our fate would be in our hands. We would not depend on the results of other matches.

yes oo lets just win Zimbabwe first and have 9pts
benin win or draw will favour us to be trailing any of them with just 1 or 2points going into september fixtures

There are some assists that shouldn't be counted as one....he just nodded the ball into a free space

That goal was 99% Osimhen.

I don't like it when players are played out of position. It compromises the player's game. Like Ola Aina didn't play his best game today. Ola should play on the right abeg. Bruno on the left.

If not for Peseiro and Finidi, what would we be looking for in the position we are now? Imagine they played 4 games , drew 3 and lost one, they won none. Ordinarily these teams, Rwanda, Lesotho and Zimbabwe are supposed to be beating home and away and that's what will happen with this new coach and the spirit he has brought to the team. There is no way SA can beat Benin away, I'm very sure. I won't even be surprised if Benin beats them
una don start. Just one game and see hyping

He can play both Left Back and Right Back.
But he excels better at RB.
Also good in midfield too.

Eric must have set Alex and Wilf on fire in the second half cuz the two got more involved in the match and made clear difference only Chuks maintained his sluggish play though he bagged an assist
Congrats boys Zimbabwe next!

Yeah I thought about that too but I started seeing reports that he like a 3 man midfield. I wouldn't mind 4-4-2 because Iwobi can easily drop into the the midfield

There is a problem with this crop eagles most of them including the captain are not natural ball players. They are stiff, Lethargic and don't seem to know what to with the ball.Coach chelle has to get us some grassroots players with understanding of the the Nigerian Traditional style of player, real baller from the NPL to blend with a few foreign based players or else we might have supporters loosing interest in our games. Our football play is very boring walahi

I find it interesting that majority of these passes were from the left midfield. Iwobi always opened himself from LM to receive and then distribute.

Odunayaw:
Iwobi spraying the passes now.

Homegrown wey dem dey beat blue black for Caf competition as if dem thief chicken. Gone are those days where Local leagues produces solid players, even kids on streets dey sabi star players for the league back then and always be topic of discussion, not anymore. Enyimba dey flog everybody for league and Caf competitions, how many players from the league in the last 15yrs invited to the super eagles camp can boast of 10 caps aside Alhaji Musa, the answer is None, simply because they’re just not good enough.

Moffi dey try before he got injured. Reminds me of them Amokachi, Yakubu, and Emenike kind of strikers.

I still think Dessers has something to offer. Orban looks interesting if he can bin the horrible attitude. Agree 100% about Onuachu and Umar.

Akor seems too injury prone for my liking.

If Awoniyi the forgotten man get a club where he will get regular playing time I think he could still cook for the SE.

One thing is definitely true the gap in performance and output between Osimhen and our other forwards is uncomfortably too wide. KC before diminishing returns set in was at least doing his bit.

semid4lyfe:
Two players that fit the bill are Elijah Adebayo of Luton Town and Akor Adams of Sevilla FC.

Dessers, Moffi, Onuachu, Arokodare, Orban & Umar, I no rate them like that.

The truth is when they bring them on like that, they will leave the Nigerian league to play in Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Cyprus division 3.. some even will use the national team to play in the Tanzanian league. It clearly shows that this players you bank on for that role aren't good enough for the national team. They will rather use the national team as a footstep to play in less popular leagues which meets their financial needs. Now if you are a really good player, you can start from the Nigerian league and force yourself to Belgium, Norway, Sweden and Denmark..any Nigerian league player who carves out this pattern of development is good enough for the eagles
