But from my own experience, you'll make more profit holding btc than holding alt coin.

Here is the thing, altcoin swing too fast, so you'll likely jump out due to fear, stop loss etc b4 it 50x if it does.

That's why you'll find it difficult to meet anyone who had actually 50x on an altcoin even if u do, you'll find out they've lost alot already on other altcoin while trying to find the one that would 50x. In the end, when u do the maths, they actually didn't make much that's if not loss.
