For the sake of the thread... let me post the Ahmed Musa Caps confusion article so you would all see the Togo 2017 Friendly game referenced.

Read below...

Nigeria vs Cape Verde: NFF admits error, says FIFA right on Ahmed Musa’s record

The Nigeria Football Federation has admitted error in its earlier counting of Super Eagles’ captain Ahmed Musa’s record.

The Federation said FIFA was right in its counting, in a statement titled, ‘NFF defers to FIFA on Ahmed Musa’s record’.

While NFF earlier said Musa had made 100 appearances for the Eagles, FIFA said he had 98 caps for the national team after featuring in Nigeria vs Cape Verde 2022 World Cup qualifier.

NFF in a statement on Wednesday said it deferred to FIFA’s record of 98 caps for Super Eagles’ captain Ahmed Musa, after the nullification of two of the matches he played.

“We defer to FIFA in this regard, so Ahmed Musa has 98 caps. If he features, as expected, in the home-and-away matches against Central African Republic in October, he will clock the tally of 100 and the celebrations will follow in full flow,” NFF’s Director of Communications, Ademola Olajire, said on Wednesday.

FIFA said on Tuesday that Musa’s appearances in the 3-0 defeat of Togo in a friendly match in Paris in June 2017 and the FIFA World Cup Russia 2018 qualifier against Algeria in Constantine in November 2017 did not count.

The match against Togo was struck off as both Nigeria and Togo made more than the regular number of changes in the game, while the encounter in Constantine, which ended 1-1, was deleted because Nigeria fielded an ineligible player and the result was overturned, with Algeria awarded the game, even as Nigeria had already picked the World Cup ticket before the tie.

PS: I hope you can all see it. Even the NFF were clueless. They had to be corrected. But something tells me they are making same mistake now on Victor's caps figure.
Well, we and FIFA will be there to correct them again.

Then this one below is from a report that emerged a day right after the friendly was played. This is a June 2, 2017 report on the friendly.

Why FIFA will not regard Nigeria vs Togo friendly as “an A game”

It has emerged that Nigeria’s international friendly against Togo will not be counted as an A game by FIFA.

Ahmed Musa scored twice, while Kelechi Iheanacho also got on the score sheet, as the Super Eagles won 3-0.

According to the team’s former media officer, Colin Udoh, Gernot Rohr made nine substitutions during the game played in Paris on Thursday night.

The maximum number of substitutions allowed by the world football governing body to rate the match as an A game is six.

Udoh tweeted: “That’s 9 substitutions by Rohr. That means this is no longer an A game. Won’t count much towards FIFA rankings #NGAT”

Earlier in the day, the Eagles moved up in the June edition of the FIFA Ranking. The former African champions who previously occupied the 40th position in the world, moved two places and are now 38th. They are the 4th best country on the continent.

The Nigerian senior national team is yet to lose a game under Rohr.

The next FIFA Ranking is set for July 6th.

There is a problem with this crop eagles most of them including the captain are not natural ball players. They are stiff, Lethargic and don't seem to know what to with the ball.Coach chelle has to get us some grassroots players with understanding of the the Nigerian Traditional style of player, real baller from the NPL to blend with a few foreign based players or else we might have supporters loosing interest in our games. Our football play is very boring walahi
You!! You can create your own National team and teach them how to play the Nigerian way

You are GOATED. Do just that abeg because by the time Osimhen hits 99 caps, everyone will be ignorantly shouting 100 forgetting the Togo 2017 game is absolutely not counted.

Go and free the ignoramuses... you have my blessings.

You are blessed. And I hope you can notice how Osimhen's Goal ratio stays the highest among all our top goal Scorers ever. Infact na part of why I kept shouting this truth of the Togo game in 2017. Make dem no spoil our man's Goal ratio value. 😁😁

You have done well. Let this truth spread to those big media outlets. We march on.

Everyone who featured in that 2017 Togo game will have that cap rendered invalid when everything is collated. That is how it was for Ahmed Musa when his 100th cap was near. FIFA came knocking down the ignorance. Na so e go be for any records on our other guys who featured in that Togo game.

So BankyGee, well done again.

You saw when they asked him about tactics before the Rwandan game, wey he tell the reporter "I won't sit here and tell you about our tactics"... Chelle head wan burst, he gats playfully nudge Ekong arm, like this "😏😏🤜🏾💪🏾"

Ekong too smart, eloquent, bold, confident and every positive thing you can think about.

We lost to Benin without Osimhen - He came and we won 3–0
We drew Rwanda one leg and lost the second without Osimhen starting both legs - He started this one and we won 0–2
We drew Zimbabwe without Osimhen - Are you seeing the pattern? 😏

Another cleansheet win 💪🏾💪🏾
At this rate, It is really up to Chelle to find a 2nd striker that will play regular games and allow Osimhen sit them out. No meed to invite him. He's proven himself. The search for a 2nd reliable striker starts now. We can't even beat chest and say oya o, see this guy, he can deputize Osimhen and no need for fear. All the ones currently available, if they start then for 90mins, Ademola Lookman will outshine them.

Then there's this brewing issue with the wing.

If winger dey NPFL or English Championship abeg make they get chance. Chuks is offffff. Offers no threat. Abi he wan dey go the Sterling route ni?

Taken on the captainship role like duck to water. International poise tinged with local understanding of how things work.

Remember back in the day before the 2018 WC he alongside Mikel represented the players during meetings with NFF officials over bonuses. Didn't understand why then but I get it now.

The leadership qualities of the last 4 foreign borns in the Super Eagles are not utilized in administrative capacities. By now, they should have some level of function in NFF. But here we are. Imagine Osaze and Balogun working in any capacity for Nigerian football by now. But here we are. I dunno.

Moffi dey try before he got injured. Reminds me of them Amokachi, Yakubu, and Emenike kind of strikers.

I still think Dessers has something to offer. Orban looks interesting if he can bin the horrible attitude. Agree 100% about Onuachu and Umar.

Akor seems too injury prone for my liking.

If Awoniyi the forgotten man get a club where he will get regular playing time I think he could still cook for the SE.

One thing is definitely true the gap in performance and output between Osimhen and our other forwards is uncomfortably too wide. KC before diminishing returns set in was at least doing his bit.
Someday the Durosinmi guy will be invited. He looks mobile to me like Osihmen
