My tech stack includes:
C# .Net Core/MVC and jQuery with vanilla JavaScript.
Plus any other stack needed to get the job done!

Nairaland uses jQuery which handles millions of visits weekly and it's very fast. So React and all the new JavaScript frameworks are for kids doing their kid's stuff. 😂

Nairaland isn't a yardstick for anything.

It's an archaic dumb site which can never reach it's full potential

Show your site with millions of visitors a week.

Nairaland works fast with millions of visitors using jQuery and makes good money for the owner. That's what matters in software development not using the latest front-end frameworks developed by kids that don't know what they are doing and just wants to compete with jQuery.

React is on version 19. which was only first released in 2013 and still has bugs. When jQuery is still on version 3 and it gets the job done.

As of March 15, 2025, several issues have been reported by developers using React 19:

List Reordering Behavior: A bug has been identified where reordering a list of components using unique keys causes unintended re-renders. This issue was not present in React 18.

Hydration Warnings: Some developers have encountered hydration warnings related to empty-style objects after upgrading to React 19.

Hot Module Replacement (HMR) Issues: Users have reported that HMR behaves unexpectedly, such as full page reloads instead of component updates, even in simple projects.

use() Hook with Vite: There have been instances where the new use() hook does not function as intended when used with the latest version of Vite, leading to repeated HTTP requests and the application getting stuck in a Suspense fallback state.

TypeScript Compatibility: Some developers have faced type-related issues after upgrading to React 19, particularly concerning the ReactNode type. Ensuring that the React types package matches the React version and clearing the npm cache have been suggested as potential solutions.

Bootstrap is fine for me and gets the job done. All these new frameworks are for newbies like you. We that are very mature in programming don't waste our time on kids stuff like you do.

You are the one typing Typing rubbish with confidence 😆.

You started with jQuery and now Bootstrap. Show a project you have built that jQuery and Bootstrap can not handle with ease. All these new frameworks are for coding kids that don't known what software development is all about but would rather be waiting for a new version of these new kids frameworks that helps them to hide their incompetence in programming.

Really funny the way you're comparing jQuery with React as if there's anything special with jQuery.

They shouldn't even be in same conversation.
anyone good with JavaScript can get a hold of jQuery in like 1 day

At best jQuery is just the Tailwind of vanilla JavaScript its only use is to help write less code... Nothing more

Writing less code is better and only use vanilla JavaScript if needed. Software development is for making money and not for writing more code. This forum is using vanilla JavaScript (correction) with millions of visitors per week and is making good money instead of writing more code and having more bugs to fix like you have with React even the latest version 19 still with bugs.

All your arguments here tell me a few things:

1. You're a script kiddie with very limited knowledge in the SWE field.
2. You're comfortable living in the past and unwilling to move along with new technologies
3. You're not ready to learn.

Keep it up

SWE is more about code modification and reuse, only to write new code when needed thereby being able to delivery a working application on time that meets the requirements of stakeholders and not about learning all the latest front-end frameworks filled with bugs and used by script kiddies like you for projects that ends up not being able to deliver what the user wants and the project gets scrapped.
If this forum was using React, it's bugs they will be using all their time to fix instead of making good money like they are doing now with jQuery.

This is React for you:
State Management Complexity
React's built-in state management (useState, useReducer) is simple but doesn't scale well for large applications.

Fast-Paced Ecosystem
The ecosystem changes frequently, with updates introducing breaking changes or requiring refactoring.
Performance Issues with Large Applications

Excessive re-renders and improper state management can lead to performance bottlenecks.
Virtual DOM diffing, while optimized, can become inefficient in complex UIs.

Boilerplate Code
React requires significant setup and configuration for state management, routing, and data fetching.

Honestly the more I engage u the more I realize how clueless you're.

Why are you comparing React and jQuery as if they solve same problem?

You just said the aim of knowing how to program is to make more money Yet you're having issues with REACT which is heap and leaps incomparable to jQuery that's basically just a shorthand for writing functions to manipulate the DOM.

Bro React have evolved and is now used to build mobile Apps.

Opay and PalmPay were built with REACT native.

Why on earth you comparing React with jQuery? 😂

You can even decide to use jQuery inside a react app if you want... Like they're totally different thing.

U main issue with React here is you arguing React has bugs as if jQuery is bug free.

Your last line your saying you write more code with React as compared to jQuery.

If you're building a full scale web app you'd eventually write lesser code using React due to it's reusable components and multiple packages
Re: C# Means C++++: Four Times The Power Of C++ by MindHacker9009(op):
Any time I reply you the more you know you are very clueless.

Facebook Messenger: In 2020, Meta rewrote Messenger as a fully native iOS app, moving away from React Native, significantly reducing its codebase and improving speed.
Facebook App: Meta has shifted away from React Native, back to native development for performance-critical sections.
Instagram: Initially adopted React Native but later scaled back its use, prioritising native development for performance improvements.

I can list more.

React library was first released to competed with jQuery which was king and still king of the front-end libraries today.

And for your information jQuery Can Be Used for Mobile Apps
jQuery Mobile – A framework specifically designed for building mobile-friendly web apps using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.

jQuery inside a react app is wrong, because React and jQuery have different approaches to handling the DOM.

You and all the small small boys on this forum should be begging me to lecture you on programming instead of arguing with the programming master.

Lol, No need to call you a kid.

The fact you don't understand jQuery is just a utility library for JavaScript tells me all I need to know about you.

jQuery is just a shorthand form for manipulating the DOM

It's basically the Tailwind of JavaScript.

From the very beginning u started comparing jQuery with React I knew u didn't know what you're talking about.

No organisation on earth uses jQuery to build mobile Apps 😂

Anyone with intermediate level knowledge of JavaScript can get a hold of jQuery in a day whereas React will take u weeks or even months to grasp.

You compare React with Angular, Svelte, Vue or NextJs not jQuery.

The only thing I like about jQuery is the ease of creating animated effects using JavaScript instead of typing long vanilla code
Re: C# Means C++++: Four Times The Power Of C++ by MindHacker9009(op):
You keep showing in all your comments that you are still a kid in programming.

Let me lecture you about jQuery and React:
jQuery is used for manipulating the actual DOM while React does the same thing but with the Virtual DOM.
So you need to know that they both do the same thing but in a slightly different way.

Globally: Over 31,000 companies across various industries have implemented jQuery Mobile, with a significant presence in the insurance and financial services sectors.
These are serious organisations using jQuery Mobile and have not allowed script kiddies to come and start using all these kids stuff like React for their applications that will only cause unnecessary bugs and issues for them.

You have only been doing kids stuff with jQuery that's why you don't know that with jQuery you can build and generate reusable UI like with React and the other latest front-end framework and libraries that have many bugs and just added unnecessary overheads that leads to complex projects failing.

You cannot compare React with Angular because Angular is a Framework while React is just a JavaScript library like jQuery that is better than React.

This forum and many other high-traffic websites proves that you don’t need a fancy modern framework to handle millions of users. jQuery, when used properly, is lightweight and efficient for many cases.

Why This forum Works Just Fine with jQuery
No unnecessary complexity – No React, no Vue, no build tools, just a fast-loading website.
Performance over hype – jQuery is lightweight compared to frameworks that ship hundreds of KBs of JavaScript.
Optimised for speed – Run faster than these bloated modern framework nonsense.
Low maintenance cost – No constant dependency updates or breaking changes from modern frameworks.
