It is a useless prayer knowing that after death, it's judgement! |

'In such cases, divine judgement is suspended and the dead are given another opportunity by God to miraculously live again in fulfillment of their destinies' Can you please, expatiate on this paragraph with scriptural support? Thanks |

donmik:Op is just talking gibberish. Nothing like that (reincarnation) is approved of in the bible. After death is judgement safe those that their time is not up yet like the fallen angels who wander the earth. |

How can you analyse between Hebrews 9v27 and the following scriptures? 2Ti 1:15 This thou knowest, that all they which are in Asia be turned away from me; of whom are Phygellus and Hermogenes. 2Ti 1:16 The Lord give mercy unto the house of Onesiphorus; for he oft refreshed me, and was not ashamed of my chain: 2Ti 1:17 But, when he was in Rome, he sought me out very diligently, and found me. 2Ti 1:18 The Lord grant unto him that he may find mercy of the Lord in that day: and in how many things he ministered unto me at Ephesus, thou knowest very well. |

Nobody has the power to rest someone in peace. Only God and the deeds of the person can do that and your wishes doesn't change it. So it's not scriptural |

1 Samuel 28:15 – Samuel’s Soul Speaks After Death:"And Samuel said to Saul, Why hast thou disquieted me, to bring me up? And Saul answered, I am sore distressed…. This shows 2 things Samuel speaking after death when summoned by the witch of Endor which shows that even the dead still have self-consciousness, second is that Prophet Samuel was in a place of rest (because he was brought out of quietness) – which could be resting in peace. Revelation 6:9-10 – Martyrs Cry for Justice, Gen 4:10: Abel Cries from the dead, Luke 16:22-24 – The Rich Man in Torment are all passages that shows the dead crying from a state of distress. So , it is possible for the dead to as mentioned earlier to be in a state of consciousness and distress(unrest). So, when people pray for the dead to rest in peace, its not really a prayer that can be answered but more of a farewell wish, that they may find peace until the day of judgement. While it may be of little help to what awaits them at the other side, it’s the least the living can do in that state of despair. I know Muslims pray for the dead but there are no biblical evidence to show there is mercy after death. |

femi4:Not really. All pagan traditions have this prayer in their funeral rits. Catholics just made the words popular since they acquired many nations |

Did the Bible ask you to greet people by saying good morning?, did ot ask you to eat Gari, rice or chicken? Why are now doing these things? Since you are claiming to be a Bible man. |
