The concept of heaven was developed when the people thought (misconception) the earth was flat and has a layer above it (heaven) which happenings in it was concealed from the earth by the firmament.

You cannot view spiritual things with human logic. You will fail all the time.

Angels are depicted as carrying swords to show their divine protection and authority.

Just as Christians are encouraged to carry their swords (bible, which is God's unfailing word).

The Bible talks about the sword of the spirit which is the word of God.
