He's the closest to Osimhen in terms of style of play.
What do you think of Gift Orban

To me i think we need a high presser & another striker with skills like Isak/Gabriel Jesus that can drop deep to get the ball.

Having 3 different types of strikers would be fantastic
We don’t want one that only waits for tap ins
Obviously Osimhen’s heading ability & pressing is second to none

Awoniyi hasn't been poor sir. He just got unlucky as the team has exceeded expectations without him due to injury, coach's preference and of course Wood's impeccable form.
I wasn't impressed with his performance against Ipswich

Yes he's very direct but not as fast or good in the air like Victor.

I'm happy Moffi has started first team training because for me he looks like the most likely reliable option for goals in the SE.

If you're doing well in a top 10 club in Bundesliga, La Liga, Serie A, Ligue 1 etc and earning decent wages, remain there.

Do not be distracted by the allure of the EPL.

Awoniyi would certainly not have faced this decline if he was still at Union Berlin.

He had it good in his first two seasons, fact,he saved Forests from relegation twice. He was absent from pre season due to injury and on the sidelines majorly this season, with Wood performance,I don't see Haaland and Osimhen benching him in Forest 😎

As you said the lure of EPL damn too big to reject, well Awo moved to England cuz of his family, when he was in Germany his family stayed in England, right now pursue his academic in sports management, follow footsteps of his mentor Seyi Olofinjana.

🚨 Manchester United are willing to trigger Victor Osimhen’s £63m release clause. #MUFC [@Gazzetta_it]

Thanks for the link D'Law.

Another insightful analysis by Solace. Considering how even the lowliest of teams were dominating the SE in midfield it made sense to clog up that part of the pitch with numbers. Plus from the description of the diamond formation and profile of midfielders we have at the moment it helps to deploy a tactic that will reduce opponents having a free rein at our defense.

However it seems we will have to be careful when facing superior opposition who have the talent to hurt us on the wings.

At the end of the day I just want a manager who is flexible enough to shuffle things around quickly when things are not going your way tactical wise something our previous coaches foreign or local were guilty of.

Praying for another win and positive outing for Nigeria against Zimbabwe on Tuesday.

Against Zimbabwe, we should watch out for their most dangerous player Munetsi of Wolves, he loves to make runs through the middle and very difficult to stop. Aina or Onyemachi should watch for zemura of Udinese very direct and dangerous from the right wing. We should pray the Zambian Goal keepers village people followed him to Nigeria, he makes so many comical errors.

We have our wingbacks & forwards bench sorted out
We just need to fix the midfielder & centre backs list.
We have too many DM’s in the team. I guess it’s difficult to find really good creative offensive midfielders
I guess Nigeria can’t produce Odegards, Palmer, de Bruyne & Ozil type of footballers because of lack of grassroot developmental facilities
We really need a magician in the middle, we have too many DMs
Obasogie & Maduka should also be tried in friendlies
Okoye still seems shaky to me in the Nigerian jersey, I say this because of the loss against Rwanda
We need a proper replacement for Nwabali in case he isn’t available
So Papa Daniel is a DM too ?
Papa Daniel is not a DM. Cm/am/ss

If there is one player responsible for Forrest being in the EPL, that's Awoniyi last season or was it 2 seasons ago?

He should play Bruno on the left and Aina on the right. Iwobi can take the place of Chukwueze. In short rest the wingers and sub them in to stretch the opponents when they are tired. Cos in the game we played using Simon and Chukwueze, assuming we needed to make a sub and play from the wings in a 4-3-3 formation, they'd be no one available.

It all makes sense now
Odunayaw:
I find it interesting that majority of these passes were from the left midfield. Iwobi always opened himself from LM to receive and then distribute.

Honestly I wish someone can tell coach chelle to play this players in their appropriate position. His formation though quite okay would be very effective if he allows this players in their natural position

This is very interesting. We will see the what will happened in afcon i just wish we give him more chance in case we didn't qualify for world cup.

Eric wont mind using local players to execute his game plane.

Our centre backs are average, not world class
They can get the job done
We don’t have Rudiger, Van Dijk, Saliba, Ruben Dias, Akanji quality
These names up above are world class
Bassey, Ekong, Ogbu are decent. Not world class
South Africa will really test them, especially their pace
Did you see what Brighton’s Adingra did to Ola Aina in AFCON final? Our defense struggled to contain him
This one has been established that it was due to Ola's injury na... Them no jam this season again? Ola lock the guy throway key, them still chop 7–0 on top.
