The challenge with Tinubu is that corruption has eaten him so deep that even when he means well, his corrupt nature will question him.

So after mocking Obi now they want to go and learn from Egypt.

Are they now returning to their vomit?

APC people are planless and spineless scalar quantities
Exactly what I wanted to say. APC clearly has no blueprint on how to run this economy.

Apc and agbadorians have accepted to learn power generation from Egypt. They heavily criticised Peter Obi for visiting Egypt to see how their electricity system works. Even the devil is shocked at this hypocrisy.

At times, getting things right is not rocket science. Look for someone who did it well before you and got good results, follow such. Adapt what worked for them when everything can't be practiced during to some factors.

You guys should stop mentioning obi in any sensible conversation na.
This is not joke session pls.

Because the FG wants to emulate egypt in area of power generation, transmission and distribution does not mean they are copying obi.

So, if balablu decided to put on black attire for an event tomorrow, you people will say he is copying obi abi?

i am embarassed at this man

nigerias power network goes back to the 60s. its issue is that it has not been upgraded over the years

this is a question of capital investment. and it will not be cheap

what makes the mans talk even more stupid is that by decentralizing power generation, the fg has been able to reduce pressure on the aging transmission network

what remains is for states like lagos, fct, ogun,ph to decouple from the nigerias transmission network and rely on internally generated power

for this to happen we need DEREGULATION in the power sector

that is the real issue. no one will invest in a power sector with prices fixed below true market rates

power in nigeria is first and foremost a cash issue brought about by decades of unsustainable power subsidies

ElSudani:
Obi was talking nonsense just as the minister is talking nonsense as well.
Egypt doesn’t possess any new technology or expertise. They are spending more money and employing people who has the technology.
You can go to Egypt, China Australia and Canada to learn whatever but nothing will happen if don't put your money down and employ competent people.
So APC is now fighting itself, just the way islam fights itself when it sees no one to fight again.

The problem is not generation but wheeling capacity.

The grid system is old and inefficient which leads to frequent system collapses.

In my view, we need massive capital investments in a new grid system. As much as possible, we need to decentralized the grid.
The problem is everything from sourcing the energy source, generation transmission, distribution, governance and consumption.

Let first start with having a proper minister of electricity and power that can understand what he is learning from Egypt

Once you join APC, you become clueless.

The power sector has been deregulated, with the state now having full authority to generate, transmit and distribute electricity independent of the FG.

Sowere was talking about Egypt's power sector before Peter Obi went to Egypt for his photo opportunity. Why didn't PO build any generating capacity in Anambra when he was governor for 8 years.

Federal government have been doing that with Egypt since the days of OBJ. For Obi to go there for a 3 days seminar before election was funny as he has 8 years as governor and he never did anything in Anambra power. Meanwhile Tinubu brought ERON for IPP as a governor but was killed by OBJ.

Power problem in Nigeria is more of vandalism of transmission lines and cables buy people that are selling them in Alaba mkt. And generator importing guys. We know that.

it hasnt been fully deregulated

there is still a government subsidy

they have been peeling it away slowly

https://punchng.com/fg-plans-n2-3tn-electricity-subsidy-in-2025/

The Federal Government may spend N2.36tn on electricity subsidies for low-income consumers in 2025, a figure that comes amid plans to implement a cost-reflective tariff for electricity consumers.

This came as the Multi-Year Tariff Order released by the Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission on Sunday showed that the government incurred N178.03bn electricity subsidy in January despite minimal cash backing.

This subsidy payment comes despite low allocations in the budget to cover the mounting electricity costs. The N178.03bn is a decrease of 10.1 per cent or N19.88bn when compared to the N197.91bn that was shouldered by the government on behalf of electricity consumers in the previous month.

The regulatory commission stated that the subsidy was calculated after a review of key tariff indices which showed that the weighted average cost-reflective tariff dropped to N116.75 per kilowatts from N213.85 per kilowatts in December 2024.
power is capital intensive. no one will invest in power as long as a subsidy is in place because it is too risky

it is the same reason people had waited for years to start investing in refineries

Shame...all they did was simply channel the River Nile in that New Dam in collaboration with Ethiopia......
Just simply address a gas policy and blast all turbine generators with gas .....
Isn't it contestable that our petrol imports are soaring......

They don't know that Obi was as foolish as an Almajiri going to sit in Professor's office to become an engineer. He didn't know that he must study and be admitted, pay fees ,attend lectures and properly pass exams to graduate as an engineer.
Why do u guys always like to deceive yourself?
