Nigeria: Pensioners Urge Tinubu to Pay Arrears

Lagos — Pension teachers in Lagos State under the aegis of Teacher Pensioners of Nigeria (TEPAN) have urged Governor Bola Ahmed Tinubu, to review his stance on paying the harmonised three year old outstanding pension allowance or risk losing their votes.

In a statement signed by the Public Relations Officer (PRO) of TEPAN, Mr. Ayodabo 'Lade, accused Tinubu of failing to pay the arrears to teachers on their correct pension grade since the year 2000, contrary to what was obtainable in other five States of the South-west controlled by the Alliance for Democracy (AD).

President Bola Tinubu has pulled the Federal Capital Territory Administration, FCTA, out of the Treasury Single Account, TSA, effectively paving way for the Nyesom Wike-led FCTA to utilize the territory’s Internally Generated Revenue IGR for the development of the nation’s capital.

At a news conference Friday in Abuja, Wike also disclosed that the President has approved the creation of the FCT Civil Service Commission to allow for staff career progression.

Who controls FCT allocations and direct to chairmen, is any ALGON being paid directly by FG now. FG has not paid minimum wage too.

Did you read in the report that it is the Council Chairmen that they are at loggerheads with because the Chairmen refused to implement the agreement. How does Wike’s Ogogoro comes in? Are you sure that you are mentally stable?

Don't allow politics becloud your sense of reasoning, how would you think PDP and LP would push primary schools in each local Government of FCT on Strike if the minimum wage that other of their colleagues in some states have been receiving since July last year, these workers in primary schools are still earnings 30k minimum wage with the hyperinflation on ground
