President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s recent declaration of a six-month state of emergency in Rivers State has significant political implications, particularly concerning Governor Siminalayi Fubara and his predecessor, Nyesom Wike. This decisive action not only aims to address escalating political unrest and pipeline vandalism but also reshapes the power dynamics within the state.Source: https://dailytrust.com/tinubus-strategic-state-of-emergency-a-lifeline-for-fubara-a-setback-for-wike/

I beg to disagree with Dr G.A Fraeser.Tinubu's intent and purpose was to get hold of Rivers state which is very strategic and hope's to use Wike's structure and rigging machine for 2027 elections. So Fubara needs to give way but they may have miscalculated and by the reactions of Nigerians and very notable individuals,it is obvious they have made a political blunder. Quoting the bible! in 2 samuel 15.13,'the Lord will turn the counsel of Ahithophel(the wicked),into foolishness'! |

Dr Fraser, leave long talk. There is nothing like building alliances and the President quelling tensions for Fubara and all that. In this game, you crush your opponent(s) completely with no means to bounce back. Put that SoE till 9 months, Wike is coming back smoking..whilst Fubara is strategizing you think Wike will sit idly by? Everyone knows Wike will not let go, Let's just say the PDP will be starved of cash and the LG Election will hold one month before Fubara returns. In a nutshell, it's all political from the President. When does SoE stop the constitutional process of impeachment? So, if they return and go ahead with the impeachment, will another SoE be declared? |

I don't agree with this analysis. Here's why!!! What you forgot is that the wizards that carried out this evil act against Rivers people will stop at nothing. They are also hatching. The plan is to conclude back door all that is required so that a month after Fubara is reinstated. The assembly can impeach. The only impediment is the chief judge of Rivers. He is next. They will excavate all sorts in the coming weeks. They need to get rid of him to ensure Fubara doesn't return fully as governor. This is just unfolding |

Sure we know. But was the state of emergency necessary? The 27 cowards refused to let Fubara present the budget. They claimed that the state was running without a budget and Fubara was acting illegally. Now the sole administrator has received 400 b allocation that should have been approved by the 27 cowards and implemented by the elected Governor. Who lost? They may not receive their salaries still. Fubara will get back and get all his salaries speedily. Now which budget will they operate when the state of emergency expires? See what “agreement is agreement” has led them all to? Again, it is no longer sure for Wike in 2027 in Rivers state. There are other interested parties who will push him and his 27 out of the way. |

When I read a piece like this, I feel the writer thinks we are all fools. As if we don't make use of our 5 senses to judge things around us, and make good use of our God given faculty. How would you explain to me to believe this trash when it's glaring how Wike manipulated Tinubu to install Ibak as Administrator in Rivers State by removing a democratically elected governor. Past record shows that Wike and Ibas have been jolly good fellows. Again, Tinubu being the animal he is decided to punish Fubara by removing him from office and he left Wike to continue servicing in his government, when it's very clear how Wike has been fomenting trouble in Rivers. Tinubu ought to have been impeached by now if Nigeria was a sane country. He is incapable of leading the affairs of Nigeria. With the way he's going it will be very difficult for Nigeria to escape civil war. |

Even the Nigerian bar association has stated that the president acted illegally by declaring a state of emergency. So if what use is any strategy when it is based on an illegality? Mr President has simply shown himself to be spineless and weak. All he needed to do was call Wike to order but he failed to do that instead he was heaping blames on Fubara. Why didn't he declare a state of emergency in Lagos? At a time, Lagos had 2 sitting speakers! Fubara owes neither Tinubu nor Wike any due. He only owes a commitment to the people of Rivers state. |

President Tinubu’s decisive move to declare a state of emergency in Rivers State shows strong leadership in restoring order and stabilizing the political environment, allowing Governor Fubara to regroup and focus on the people’s needs. |

This is a very good move from Tinubu. It will help stabilize the political situation in Rivers and give Fubara the chance to sort things out. |

Lapinski:lol Chief Judge Appprove ? ' ' ![]() Section 188 of the Nigerian Constitution outlines the impeachment process for a state Governor or Deputy Governor. Role of the Chief Judge of the State ): • After the House of Assembly passes a motion (with a two-thirds majority) to begin impeachment proceedings and serves the Governor with the allegations, the Chief Judge of the state is directed by the Speaker to set up a 7-member panel. • The Chief Judge’s responsibility is limited to: • Constituting the panel of “persons of unquestionable integrity” to investigate the allegations. • Not participating in the investigation, judgment, or panel proceedings. • The Chief Judge has no discretion once directed — they must set up the panel. • The panel reports back to the House of Assembly. The decision to impeach is entirely political and resides with the legislature. The Chief Judge’s role is administrative and procedural, not judicial or adjudicatory. |
