Bienvenue, how was your journey?
Did you go by road?
How much did spend all together?
Do you mind if we connect?
I traveled by road and it was hectic. Naija officers' bribery is a learner compared to other African Nations along that route.
Its beta to travel by flight if you have the means.
About linking up, I can leave at any time for reasons. So its of no use.
Remain blessed bro.

Nothing much.

They live in 1977 in 2025. Most French colonies are like that. France is wicked.

Nigeria is better than that country. You'll have to learn some French sha. Lesser crime rate, frustrating cost of living. Nice beaches but in general, naija better pass that place.
There is no place like naija

I think it’s the part of Senegal you were in. I really enjoyed Senegal on my visit. Electricity, sanity and good food.

Which part is better than Dakar?

They are too dirty for my liking. Did you notice soak-away water on the streets of Dakar, Abi you didn't explore the city by walking around? You stayed indoor in a hotel room?

Did you notice they don't care about flies perching on their food?
When I complained at a coffee shop where green flies were having full day on bread and other stuffs. The guy said if I dont want flies on my food, I should go to Europe. grin

Like every other French colonies, their bread is not in nylon.

Did you notice they hate it if corrected?
They lack common manners.

It is the worst African country I've visited. They and Mali.

24/7 light yes.

Senegal is the most expensive African nation I've visited after South Africa. Things are so expensive that by the time you compare to other cefa spending nations you will wonder Why.

For example, Cotonou is among cefa using countries. Same currency.
Pure water in Cotonou is three for secant (50cefas) at other places in Cotonou 2 for 50cefa. And a whole purewater bag is 200cefa. (20pieces)

But in Senegal, one piece of purewater is 50cefa and it is not even full.

Plywood that I use for my work is sold for 4500cfa in Cotonou it is 7000 in Senegal.

Renting a room in Dakar goes for 45-50,000 cefa. Although they'll collect 3months.
In Benin Yould get for 15k, 20k, 25k (selfcon) they collect 3months as well.

I will stop here.

I suspect you just spent a week in Senegal and left.

My advice to anyone travelling to relocate in Africa is to think twice before choosing Senegal. Life in Cotonou is far Better.
Benin people are more civilised may be because they share border with Naija.

Gambia is more civilised and English speaking too.

Senegal is expensive, dirty people, they claim to be Muslims but what they worship are the Bambas. (Their marabouts). Uncultured set of humans.

I'm sorry if I disappointed you. I am only being factual.

I think you stayed in the Ghetto, I stayed at Ouakam, Dakar. also visited Sally. In my opinion life in Senegal is better than most places in the world. It’s one of my favorite countries (I have been to many)

it was an overall good experience for me. I spent 3 weeks, I was hosted by a wealthy family and I love love the city. Dakar, has very good roads, it’s safe and clean. The rail and other infrastructure are top notch.

There nice fancy restaurants and these guys drive very nice cars. Senegalese love cars. They are also friendly people

Why are some Nigerians so ungrateful. You went to another man country to identify only the negatively, your type are the reason why people have unexplained hatred for Nigerians. Whites are flocking there for tourism and appreciating the country a fellow African went there to condemned the lifestyle of others and you think if they come across this your myopic write up they will be happy with Nigerians. Who do us? No wonder because of this ungrateful attitudes even Nigerian politicians are skeptical of doing any meaningful project in the country because your likes will never appreciate. You choose to see the bad side of Senegal and that what you got.

You are a fool for condemning my opinion. And this is the reason I ignore many of you sick idiots on Nairaland.

Where have you traveled to?
Let me know your experiences. I will tell you the countries I have been to.
I have traveled to lots of African countries. Some I just passed through, some I stayed for months, some years.
You may be one of those who have never been out of Naija.

Now go and check the reply of the guy that I replied to.
In his reply, he said he stayed with a wealthy family and he spent only 3 weeks. How do you expect him to know what the place really is.
He said they took him to town.
On donkey? Or horse?

In sleek cars idiots!

How many willing to japa will have the kind opportunity he had?
How many Nigerians have wealthy family waiting to host them?.

Oponu!

Next time jump over my comments.

Do you want me to tell innocent guys on the platform lies? Just for them to set out and meet the opposite of what I said?

You are sick mentally. You lots just reply people using gutter languages.

I stayed in Cotonou for more than a year besides the former visits of staying for a month or two. To and fro Naija.
Why didn't I write such about Cotonou.

I stayed in Gambia for 4 years why didn't I write such about Gambia?

I stayed in South Africa for more than a month and many other African countries I passed through staying a day or two.
Why didn't I write such about the places.

For your information, besides. 24/7 power, friendly people and good security nothing else about Senegal that beats Nigeria.
Things are expensive die.
And I forgot to mention. Border immigration extort people expecially Nigerians. Nigerian immigration too extorts but their own na child's play.

If you wan try am set out on the journey especially by road. You go learn the hard way.

Nonsense!!

Senegal is not full of white people my guy. Don't say it as if why people are all over Senegal. Yes their tourism is one of the best in Africa. And there are specific areas the Whites visit.
Sally where you visited is one.
Cap Skirring is one.
Toubab village is one. Toubab mean oyinbo. So in Toubab village there are some who live there.

Don't use 3 weeks of staying in a Country to describe the place.
Anyways, you have buttress my points.

You said you stayed with a wealth family. The places they took you to. The places you ate. And many more won't give you the right judgement of the place.
Anyways, I'm done.
One thing I forgot to mention.

The fact that you were looking for a 2k per night hotel in Senegal was the reason you had a bad impression of the country, you stayed in the trenches. Senegal is a beautiful country.

Bro you need general overhauling of your brain power. It seems your upbringing was really bastardized by the people who brought up. Your negative outlook in life is what is causing high level frustration in your life. Happiness is a choice likewise sadness. I really sympathies with you especially imagining how your childhood experience will be and how you could affect those around you negatively. Please in case you have kids don't project this attitude to them and your wife because that woman go live you one day. I don't need to brag about the countries I have traveled to. Bragging does not put food on the table. I am open any day anytime to give you orientation about rudiments of life and to reset your brain. I wish I could help on working on your emotional intelligence but it all depends on you sir. Have a nice day and sleep with rest of mind. I come in peace Mr traveler

You are a fool. I maintain my stand.

Your reply to my earlier comment was senseless and baseless.

I was telling guys about a place I have stayed for more than six months and you attacked me like a morron that you are.

Should I sugarcoat lies and make guys set out to meet the opposite?

You are an idiot.
You stayed with wealthy people for 3 weeks. You ate and dinned with them. They took you to nice places.
How accurate would your judgement be?

Why should you compare yourself to someone who wants to japa with his life savings?
Dindinrin

These guys who wan japa would spend their own hard earned money to eat, get accommodation, cloth themselves and probably start a business. Not for 3 weeks you spent like a tourist. but aiming to stay there for probably years.
No wealthy family to accommodate them like you. Definitely, they fed you too.

Three weeks of stay in a place and gbam!
You have become a promoter of the place.

I refuse to be tempted to reply you sick guys again. Who ever wan try am can follow your advice.

So you called me a parasite because I stayed in someone’s mansion, did it cross you mind to ask about how I got the connection.
who is in your own network?
And South Africa is an achievement to you😆

I get hosted even in the US, UAE etc by friends, I have valuable network. I also host people in my house here. And FYI, I live in one of the most expensive neighborhoods in Lagos.
