Some? TheGoodJoe, we made a lot of wrong choices today.

Ndidi starting for this team is a travesty.

TheGoodJoe:
Tactically, the team is taking shape, especially our defensive tactics.

Chelle needs to work harder in his scouting. We need more fluidity in our midfield. They were times we made some wrong choices in the middle. We could be better.

For the goal, I hope Chelle sits down with the guys and review that goal. Watching out for spaces and defending it would have taking us home.

I was watching the Zimbabwean who gave the assist. He moved into that space and was not picked up.

And offensive press should have nullified that.

even with the 3 points deduction if SA does not slip, but we beat them away, there is still no guarantee

To many missed chances
From the moment we started missing wave after wave of attacks, I knew we were toast.

Too many players played out of position

When he missed that shot, I went ballistic. What is he doing up there? He should be helping the defense maintain shape. However, I joined from the 60th minute, so I am not in the position to be too critical.

Forget about world cup
I swear. It's actually fúcking sad that we're relying on point deductions from South Africa to keep our WC dream alive.

The reason we couldn't push up a highline to suffocate the Zimbabweans after their equalizer was because Ekong was afraid of a run in behind him btw

by 2030 world cup, we will be looking for a new generation of strikers to replace 30yrs osimhen
Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by Joebie: 7:04pm On Mar 25, 2025
yes, considering we didn't score early.. We would have saw the game off.

Subzerooo:
There is nothing that Chelle did wrong in this match, you want him to be defending a 1 nil lead against Zimbabwe?
Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by TheGoodJoe(m): 7:04pm On Mar 25, 2025
We were making good defensive positioning towards the end. I still don't get how they just lost it at that period.

How the runner was not tracked too beats me.

He's the reason Iwobi tire own fast today. Iwobi was dropping deeper than he ought to and Ndidi was a mere minus 1 throughout. He was so eager to go forward than do his primary duty. Chelle saw him vs Rwanda and still felt he deserves a start is a real travesty
Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by TheSuperNerd(m): 7:04pm On Mar 25, 2025
Osimhen and Lookman are the only ones deserving of a WC. Both are 26 and 27 now. Will miss the WC and would be 31 and 32 by then.

It is a shame that Africa's best striker in Particular doesn't get to play at the WC in his Prime.
