I am devastated.

Eric Chelle has his faults

but

I'm putting this loss (yes, its a loss) 100% on the players.

Professional players should be able to defend their lead and see off a game of this magnitude.

Close shop. Change formation to 10 - 0 - 0 Park the bus, even if you're a forward fall back & defend.

There was too much space for the Zimbabweans to exploit for that their equalizer.

Ndidi had his usual lacklustre game. He was strolling and did not pick up that player who ran from deep.

Bright Osayi was also found wanting and culpable for that goal.

Ekong, what kind of atrocious defending was that? You dey fear to cause penalty but you for put leg for that ball na. Na 50-50 e go be.

Una just waste Osimhen hard work. goals and effort for nothing.

Mehn, I am sad.
.
Players should play according to the coach's instructions.
The substitutions made by the coach showed what was on his mind.

Osayi was tired and spent, why leave him on the field of play.
He started the last march four days ago.
One of the main causes of loss of concentration is tiredness
And the more tired a player, the more the player is prone to injury.

To date Kelechi Nwakali still remains our most creative midfielder.
Whosoever he has offended in the NFF, should please forgive him.
If he has offended anyone, let him make peace.

We don't have any midfielder with his kind of crosses, long balls and creativity.
You've brought Nwakali....

they will come for you soon..

With the next major duels coming up the next 6months, let's hope Eric Chelle will take his time out to MONITOR, SCOUT & re-strategize his plans on players he will use to execute his tactics come September.
6months is alot of time to get your plans right. No excuse!
I also hope they will have 1or2 FIFA breaks for friendlies.
Bare injuries, let's hope Osimhen will be on his best form. That's our only match maker.
Winning our 4 remaning matches means we will be on the same point with SA(bar goal difference). We need to win the remaining matches and score lots of goals.
Why must he be our only match maker? Na only him waka come? Then we are not even fit to compete in Afcon talk less of the World Cup. Any player that can’t raise his game to the level of zeal we see in players like Aina, Bassey and osihmen should make way out of the national team. Enough of mediocrity, period. How can people in the crowd be shouting Jesus (no pun intended) in a match because of unserious players, people in the stands shouting to players to mark their man, we no get shame?

Suspi sef dey on why we get plenty Southern African teams for same group sef. undecided
But that one no be main issue. Na we we no take advantage. I agreee with what BankyGee wrote about attitude. I've been saying it too. These guys need to step up the attitude. Nwabali to Chuks to Ndidi to Osayi. The last 3 need bench time more going forward. I really wished dem Eletu and co are here too. Next 3 games, Chelle should let Aina play his RB and leave Bruno to LB abeg. Bruno is calm and sensible.

Going by your logic, it was the coach who instructed Osayi to be dribbled & turned to escort and Ekong not to put leg to tackle for Zimbabwe's goal.

I no get time to do long post and analysis so all I'll say is, it is well.

with 13 shots played and just 3 on target against Zimbabwe, it begs to ask the question of where do we stop blaming the coach and start blaming the players.

Nigeria has participated in a 2 - 4 nations tourney before just like the Mandela challenge cup.
This tournament consist of Nigeria, Jamaica, Ghana and England. The winners may be going home with a trophy I think.

It's in June, let's keep our fingers crossed.

It's a perfect tournament for Eric Chelle to get fresh legs for the team.
can you reference where you see this please. I can't see it anywhere and our fixture list only has Russia in June before September

But we seriously need a player with such skills, that's why I rate Mikel so high, against Zimbabwe we shouldn't be talking of defending a one goal lead at home. We should talking of controlling the game, keep possession let the opponent chase the ball.

People don talk tire.... Any sound tactical coach will easily go for a midfield of KELECHI NWAKALI, Onyedika & IWOBI... Nigeria please now angry

Nwakali’s got that creative spark and vision, even if he’s been underutilized or overlooked at times—his passing range could unlock defenses. Onyedika brings some steel and energy, a solid box-to-box presence who can break up play and keep things ticking. Then Iwobi, with his versatility and Premier League experience, adds flair and composure to tie it all together. It’s a balanced setup on paper: creativity, tenacity, and technical quality. Nigeria’s got talent in spades, but cohesion and the right lineup have been hit-or-miss lately.
This midfield could control games against most AFCON opponents and even hold its own in tougher qualifiers, assuming they gel. The bigger issue might be convincing a coach to take the risk on Nwakali if he’s not getting consistent minutes at club level, and ensuring Onyedika’s discipline doesn’t leave gaps. Iwobi’s a no-brainer. Add your own! cool

Thank God there was no VAR though i think the entire circumference of the ball didn’t cross the line but only VAR could have verified that.

Guy you finish work, Lookman should be talked to or dropped if he can’t work with his fellow strikers, he even shined in Afcon through an assist from osihmen. At least let’s get one or two goals before you begin to go solo, it’s looking as if because osihmen got two goals in Rwanda he wanted to get on the score sheet by all means in uyo. One shot he had in the first half should have been a cross to osihmen. I like Lookman but he needs some talking to by the coaches. I feel it’s the reason Boniface is also struggling in that set up. When I said some time ago that Boniface and Lookman should lock up themselves in a room and talk I was mocked here.

Thank you for the article especially for those who keep blaming the coach and nff for clear and begging chances that were missed in the game. The Zimbabweans were on the platter for real slaughter but our players messed everyone up. Nonsense!
Thank you sir. I was just angry at those blaming the coach, this game would've been 3–0 in the first half alone if we didn't waste chances, only Osimhen is clinical in this team, he knows when to pass and when to shoot. Out of the 4 shots on target we had in the entire game, Osimhen had 3 and Arokodare had 1... Just two players put the ball on target when we had 13 SHOTS in total from over 6 players.

Make them keep dey blame Chelle, na him supposed wear boot enter pitch come score na.
