Igahbarr:Conman of the people you meant to say ![]() [quote author=NLCreator post=126854133]Peter Obi, presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP) in the 2023 elections, has defended the purchase of sports utility vehicles (SUVs) for members of the national assembly. There have been reports that the leadership of the 10th national assembly has bought SUVs for all lawmakers. Each SUV is said to be valued at N160 million. The LP had asked members of the party in the national assembly to kick against “wastage”. While responding to questions during a press conference in Abuja on Monday, the former governor of Anambra said the SUVs are not personal cars of the lawmakers, noting that they are for official use. “Let me start with the issue of Labour Party members in the house. I have actually discussed this issue with them,” Obi said. “Surprisingly, I can tell you I heard that these vehicles are official cars. They have to use it. It is meant for office. “So it is not as if it is their vehicle. They said it is official cars and you are meant to use it while you are in the senate.” Obi also hinted at contesting for the country’s number one position in 2027, adding that Nigeria deserves dedicated and visionary leaders who will lead the country towards a brighter future. https://www.thecable.ng/theyre-for-official-use-obi-defends-purchase-of-n160m-suv-for-lawmakers/amp ] |

fickleawolowo:You have a fickle sense of what wisdom is. It Pandora Bitter Obi is anything near wise, how could ordinary Obiano kick him out of APGA after his failed attempt to be a bloodsucking godfather? And then he got kicked out of PDP by wicked ologogoro Wike to make ebilokan’s dream easier to achieve. jameshankss: |

We have been working our asses out to mitigate the Fulani menace in Hausaland. However, you guys need to know that 200 years of the Fulanis (an evil tree) rule in Hausaland means they control the government over Hausawa, so we are clearly at a disadvantage. Still we keep pushing because we believe that light will always chase darkness away, no matter how long the darkness had been. We will cut the Fulanis to size, but lumping us with them and punishing us for their crimes is doing no good. Please try to understand. ehikwe22: |

Once again I really do not desire to comment about Nigeria anymore as a social state but because when humanity is on the brink let me just hazard a suggestion. 160 years ago western United States looked exactly what much of Nigeria is as a state today, totally lawless. It was EVERYBODY for himself. No sense of civilisation, authority nor organisation. NO STRUCTURE. It was the rule of the strong, the gun and the mob. Bandits ruled the highways, cowboys ruled the plains and the gunslinger, the fastest trigger man held the town captive and CAPTIVATED. But soon the people got fed up with rebuilding their homes, their towns, their businesses and their cemeteries. And begun to ORGANIZE themselves into viable societies by establishing law enforcement and justice AT THE LOCAL LEVEL. That gave birth to the now famous office of the SHERIFF, the Chief LAW man. That is law enforcement at the grassroots. They would hunt down criminals, bring them before the county judge and hold them in county jail or hang them on county stocks. ORGANIZATION is the key to civilization, social viability, sustainability and prosperity. Whatever that has held back the organisation of society down to the grassroots in Nigeria is what will prevent this country from ever developing. Without restructuring Nigeria CAN NEVER develop. This is 26 years of unbroken so called democracy. Yet society has not moved an inch forward by whatever metrics of life or decent living. So it is much deeper than mere governance. Prove me wrong that the black man is just not wired to organize himself into a viable, sustainable and prosperous society. |

I wonder how you operate in the family setting outside NL. |

Ishilove:Hunters of northern origin, who lived in Rivers State, were travelling to Kano for the Eid holidays. They were travelling by road. They were stopped by vigilantes in Uromi, Edo State. The vigilantes saw their dane guns and raised an alarm. A mob formed and burned the travellers in their trucks. |

AustineE1:Peter P Obi has never commented on the numerous acts in which northern travellers were rounded killed, goods carted away, and vehicles burnt down by IGBOS in Anambra and Imo states. At least three such incidents happened within the last one year. People in the north openly called out Peter Obi and aunty Obiagheli as to why they remain mute about such happenings in the east. |
