How Can People Leave North To Hunt In The South? by Notfogotten(op): 9:11pm On Mar 29, 2025
How can someone leave North to hunt in the south?
The story doesn't add up.

How come all the people talking now never said anything when Fulanis were killing people in their farms.

All ethnic group must stand with the people of Uromi.

South and muddle belt must be defended at all cost.

The killed were killers. No one uses those axes to hunt. They were hired to come and kill and were heading to another location when they met their waterloo. No one can fool me on that.

They came to hunt southerners, so we might as well call them hunters, hunters of southerners.

A country where carrying gun is allowed in one region and forbidden in other region.

Hunting humanity or animals

Am asking the same question and the north is very very rich in wildlife more than the south.
I am not supporting those crazy murderers but I somehow feel those guns were either used for security job's,intimidation, robbery or for protection.Only God knows

How many hunters from the south hunt in Kano, jigawa and co.They shouldnt have moved around with guns down south knowing that everybody is on guard do to Fulani invasion
Anyways may they RIP

Form this headline alone, you will reason how an average Southerner thinks. Why will you ask such question? . If you can as well answer what is your people doing across the length and breadth of the North? Then you can simply answer this one. My respect for some southerners has reduced to minimal because when I read some comments they sound like from someone that just know how to write in English with out actually going to school(which is common there).

I will definitely find time and write an article ✍️ about southerners perception about what is called Nigeria and how their limited thinking affects their perception about other tribes across the country or across the South specifically (that's why so much division of Igbo/Yoruba/Edo/Ijaw is there) and how education that is free-from hatred will help eradicate this menace, and how NYSC contributed significantly in reducing the hatred and improving their perspective.

Isn't it funny from someone who believe they have a right to kill enmasse without consequence.
About 10 innocent mourners, not armed, just in their village, were killed by the usual suspects in Plateau on the same day, yet you hypocrites
were nowhere to be found.

Why will you ask such question? .
It is a very valid question.
Why are armed hunters traveling inter-states to hunt in a region with fewer wildlife?

Were they moving about with arms?
If yes, they should all be arrested.

Your respect counts for nothing.
It is better to be alive than be "respected" don't you think?

Before you deflect to jungle justice argument.
I am totally against jungle justice even if the suspect was caught in the act.
They should have been handed over to the police.
However, your guilt-tripping via deceptive outrage is dead on arrival.

When Jukkun attack Birom and Government Didn't do anything. One of your problem is to attack innocent Hausa hunters, does that solve your problem? Or prevent plateau people or Benue or Akwa ibom from ethnic crisis? You see how you sound? You have limited knowledge about Nigeria and it's tribe.
Re: How Can People Leave North To Hunt In The South? by nairalanda1(m): 8:00am On Mar 30, 2025
Now , just to be certain here...

1. I am not here to justify cattle herders killing farmers. Like I have said, the fulanis need to go to the police, not to their weapons, if they got issues with other people.

2. I am also not here to justify farmers killing cattle herders, or killing their cows.

3. I have advocated for solutions like rail travel, ranches in the North, and so forth to reduce cattle herding. And like I have said many times, the era of moving around with cows is over. Too many people, too limited land.

Now on to the point.

1. Yes, people travel long distances to hunt. Like they have been doing so for over 100 years. The whites for example travel to countries like South Africa and Zim and even Kenya to do big game hunting. Infact it is a source of income for these countries. South Africa even effing advertises itself as a large hunting ground, and have done so for decades.

2. Yes, they were hunters. There is even a photo of them showing off the game they hunted before they headed out on the ill fated trip.

3. Yes, even some people from other parts of the country travel long distances to hunt. I even recall someone my parents were acquaited with travelling some distance to do some hunting, and the guy was not a fulani or awusa.

4. WIldlife in the North is falling drastically. I mean, in the 1950's one could see wildlife along major roads. Now , you can't. It's easier in the South, and even then, wildlife is falling.

Now i see this as the result of a lot of failures....here is what would have prevented this nonsense from happening

1. People should go to the police for any law issues. Nigerians...not just Fulanis, don't like going to the cops. They want to do things by themselves.

2. We really need to stop all this roaming around with cows ,people. Better rail system will transport more cows than trucks or walking around would.

3. Hunting permits. HUNTING PERMITS, and better regulation of forest and game with allocation of guides, would HELP A LOT WITH THIS ISSUE.

4. And really we should stop this jungle justice of a thing. Let's be honest, a lot of Northerners and Southerners have died from jungle justice....and more often than not, it is their fellow tribesmen that have killed them. Yes, remember Aluu 4 . Who killed them? Have their killers been brought to justice? Who killed that teacher in Bauchi for desercrating the koran allegedly. Up till now, nothing. We too dey like jungle justice. Instead of heading to the cops or the law.

5. The law needs to be reformed. Corruption and a host of other issues are wrecking it. That';s why Nigerians prefer jungle justice...it is because the law sometimes is compromised.

6. And like I have said many times, you cannot police a country of 220 million people on a budget of 1 billion dollars. When you need something like 50-70 billion dollars annually.

Like I said, anyone accusing me of anything would be reported. Thanks.

I said what I said.

About 3 years ago I saw a group of Fulani hunters in the bush behind my farm and people were commenting in disgust how they've taken over hunting in the state. Since then I've not seen them again.

Is so unfortunate how this incident have been twisted.
Now is becoming obvious that this country have first class and second class citizens.
All the unarmed people the Fulani herdsmen have killed in the South, there was no much noise as compared to all this nonsense noise about these unidentified hunter's.
When did hunter's started traveling from the far north to hunt in the South?
There is hardly no state in the South where Fulani herdsmen have not killed people.
What did all these Northern Governor's and the President say back then.

Before terrorist gangs took over the area, I visited Yankari Game Reserve in Northern Nigeria's Bauchi state, and learned during that visit that northern Nigeria is home to FAR more wildlife varieties to hunt than anywhere one could care to mention throughout southern Nigeria.

With the abundance of antelope, wild pigs, water buck, impala, and assorted other species of bush meat wildlife in NORTHERN Nigeria, can you please enlighten those lowly southern Nigerians that you peer down haughty your nose at, regarding the question of why people claiming to be "hunters" would need to leave northern Nigeria and travel hundreds of miles to Edo State in Southern Nigeria, to hunt the far fewer populations of wildlife that Uromi hunters rely on to survive?

Do you feel Northern Nigerians should be ENTITLED to simply arm themselves and invade land anywhere in Nigeria, under the pretext of herding cows, or of "hunting"? This writer is genuinely curious as to whether northern Nigerians feel entitled to hunt anywhere without permission being granted by those who have lived in such areas for generations. Looking forward to hearing from you Megida sir.

Can you answer the following question?.
1. Why would infidels from the South leave South and come with beer in North despite they know that people from the North don't like alcohol. As big as South why won't they stop there and drink their beer with out coming to other people land and drink or sold beer, even though they know that nobody will discriminate them in South for drinking beer if they stay there?
Re: How Can People Leave North To Hunt In The South? by mamdanju: 10:56am On Mar 30, 2025
How can people live in the south and go to the north to own shops? How can people live in the south and go to the north for work? How can people live in the south and own farms I'm the north? I can go on and on. Stupid OP

Thank you for this response, Megida, sir. You may be dismayed to know that I happen to be a hard-core infidel in good standing with all rights and privileges implied, yet I never touch alcohol, nor will I ever again in life have any cause to set foot in Northern Nigerianistan. My reply to your rhetorical question will therefore remain an exercise in pure conjecture.

On the subject of why Christians would choose to reside and work in ANY Islamic republic, I agree with you that such Christian people are NOT welcome in Muslim communities, and have no business going there at all.

Now that I have expressed my support for your opinion that southern Nigerians would best stay away from northern Nigerianistan's territory, could you be willing to reciprocate that sentiment by adding that northern Nigerians, be they Fulani or Hausa, would likewise, in an indeal world, stay away from the south and Middle-Belt of Nigeria, so as to limit their future territorial aventures and cattle grazing activities to their glorious Islamic Republic of Nigerianistan that lies NORTH of the Niger/ Benue confluence?

Thank you in advance for your reply, Megida Alhaji.

It is all about that crude oil dollar income. The northerner elite has become accustomed to quietly and secretly sharing the multi-billion dollar proceeds of that petroleum industry located far south of their desert homes, deep in the Niger Delta. This need for free oil sales cash by northern Nigerians is the basis of all "One Nigeria" ululations.

A geographical and administrative bisection of Nigeria will mean that an entire generation of Hausa and Fulani elite from Northern Nigeria will no longer be able to buy houses in London or Dubai with cash down as is done now, without an iota of honest work needed from the tribally-qualified beneficiaries of that oil money.

Dividing the country is something I oppose

But let's say we divide the country, that makes it better for new countries to regulate the hunting or wildlife in their domains

If the new countries are sensible about it , it could yield revenue. Lots of it
