Raumdeuter is a fellow chemical engineer cum businessman that I have the utmost respect for. In fact as far as NL is concerned, he is top 3 to me.

A consummate gentleman, generous guy who hardly ever gets into spats with people except they are degenerate.

And I said long ago, when the time comes, he would just not leave. It will be "screw the constitution"......And there will be nothing, absolutely nothing that anyone can do about it.

All the apparatus set up to disarm him and this insane move have been completely monopolised. And this is what made him dangerous from the outset.

Even he does not believe he’s liked enough to win all swing states. Even him and his followers know they are delusional about that. Honestly I see all you are seeing and I know how desperate and mad Trump can be. I just don't know why a part of me still believe he won't be that mad; because that will be a call for anarchy and civil war as never seen before. Far too many Americans own guns and even the military will be divided between those whose allegiance is to the constitution and those whose allegiance is to the Commander in Chief. So because of the ugliness I see with it's happening, I just want to pray and believe it wont happen, if it does; the USA will definitely not be the same again.

You now see why unbridled sycophancy is terrible! Popular presidents like Clinton, Obama and Reagan never mused about a 3rd term, even though they would have handily won the additional term, because they (and others) believed that no one has a monopoly of leadership.

There is a reason why term limits were introduced after the 12-yr presidency of FDR; one of them being that the U.S. shouldn’t have a cult-like presidency

Once the ticket wins, the placeholder would resign and Trump would ascend to President.

And with what is going on in the US, people having the strength to have these conversations and call these stuff out is really needed right now.

Someone slightly disagreed with a comment you made, you saw his perspective and offered to clarify, he ultimately saw what you were saying.

From the 12th Amendment.

I think he means to address beme.ruca and basil but he can’t call them out without roping in raum who “he respects”. They all basically share the same opinion as far as Trump’s presidency is concerned, so can’t be separated from each other.

That’s why he’s tiptoeing around the recipients of his post. And of course he has to throw in the caveat of “I think Kamala would’ve been worse”, so that those ones don’t turn on him as someone who’s defected to the liberal side. I can’t imagine the stress he’s feeling trying to stand up for what he knows is ultimately right but so gosh darn afraid of losing social capital with them.

Anyway for the first time in his grandiose postings, I find myself agreeing with a lot of what he said. Hopefully he won’t care about what anyone thinks while he’s voicing his truth.

The reason why this season in American politics is so different is that whether republican or democrat, most politicians always recognized that there’s such a thing as too much, too far, too extreme. Not Trump. He doesn’t have a mental stop button that tells him when to stop. (Except the threat of personal financial ruin).

Most presidents stuck to the unspoken code of honor. Now that Trump is showing how easy it is to dismantle American democracy, we’re learning that a lot of the rules of law we enjoyed were available to us because prior leaders chose to respect it not because there’s a serious infrastructure in place to actually enforce it if push came to shove.

It reminds me of the local farmers in my neighborhood who leave eggs and flowers for you to pick and pay based on honor. No one is there to watch you or judge you but everyone understands that the honorable thing to do is to pay for what you take. Trump is that guy who’ll take everything and walk away because who’s going to check him? Right?

I think Biden tried when he was leaving by telling the military to remember the oath they took to protect the Constitution. And he also appointed a good number of judges before he left. All those useless executive orders he’s been trying to use to take over our democracy have been slowed down thanks to the foresight of Biden.
That’s why you see them floating the idea of removing judges and trying to pass a bill to disempower congress.

Dark days ahead if more politicians don’t stand up and stop him.
