Argentina To Receive $20 Billion IMF Loan To Replenish It's Central Bank Reserve by LegendHero(op): 12:25am On Apr 03, 2025
Argentina’s President Javier Milei will “surely” meet US counterpart Donald Trump on a visit to the United States Wednesday, a top Buenos Aires official told local media.

Milei’s trip comes as Argentina seeks a $20 billion loan from the International Monetary Fund (IMF) to replenish its central bank’s reserves.

The two leaders will receive awards for their “conservative values” during a ceremony at Trump’s Mar-a-Lago resort in Florida, Argentine Foreign Minister Gerardo Werthein told local news channel LN+ on Tuesday.

“We have nothing formally scheduled, but there will surely be a meeting,” Werthein said.

His policy of strict austerity slowed inflation considerably but failed to lift consumer spending.

The prospect of another IMF loan — $20 billion loan on top of the $44 billion it already owes — has caused a run on the peso, prompted by fears that the new deal could entail a possible devaluation which Milei has rebuffed.

Lol how many Nigerians dey access the $ at N400? I send money home regularly, as at May 2023, na over N700+ we dey send am. Yet our FX net reserved was depleted to less than $4bn.

So how can Tinubu support FX with $8bn, pay almost $9bn in backlog, and still increase the net reserve from $3.99bn in 2023 to over $23bn in 2025? If you understand numbers, can you see how dumbb your statement sound?

As per the propaganda you posted, Na lie go wound you guys. You know what Rewane used to qualify people like you who purposely took him out of context and wrote that useless headline?

Most importers had access to it at $400 and even a child is supposed to know that most of the things used in Nigeria are imported so imported had most access. Students, visitors and all overseas travelers had access to it at $400 and apart from these subsection of the society what would any other person outside this category need dollar for?

Who else have access to the CBN figures Gatusso is bandying except himself. Is this not the same CBN we all heard how from Anthony Ani to Emefiele of recent printed monies for themselves while dishing out same false information gatusso is dishing out today or do we go into the case of bunmi oni that was cooking up false figures for Cadbury investors back then and ended up swindling people of their money and you expect a sane person or an international investor to believe figures that have not been verified by any other source? You have more than $30bn and you are going abroad to beg for $1bn loan at very ridiculous interests rates that hurts you and expect a same mind to believe that ridiculous bolekaja junk ? Rewane case is normal , his case is not different. Anytime any person tries to say the truth the tribal corruptly depraved minds attack them to change their minds from truth. It happened to gani adams, olaiya igwe, Oni , awujale etc You must be joking or a clown seriously

Lol you are capping. You clearly don’t know jack about that forex system. Which student get access at $400? The form A wey you go submit and bankers won’t call you back in 6month and you had to even pay over 40% as bribe and in the end it will be better to buy at the black market.

Most of those importers that get FX official are cronies of CBN guys. They are not importing anything inside, they just get dollar at official market using the documentation then take it to black market to sell for profit.

You ever wondered why prices keep skyrocketing anytime dollar go up then? If they all get it at N400 why do you think the market respond mainly to black market price?

[quote]You don’t need Cardi B to tell you about the reserve, the stability alone should tell you what’s up. Naira have been stable for quite a while now and the parallel market difference is not even up to 5% profit. FX keep rising and we have mad liquidity currently.

You don’t even understand the concept of money and loan. You think reserve is there to blow it up or what?

Nope, Rewane is not someone like that. He is one of the guys that is close to people in power and still tell them the truth. His word was taken out of context and you can see in the video where he mentioned everything.

You can abuse Cardi B on anything but on this FX policy, he got it right.

See this ignoramus ipob, the more they debunk your stupid lies and gossip tales with superior facts, the more you go back to cooking more senseless conspiracy theories that has no verifiable trace. When will you ipob losers understand that lies and propaganda will never win you an election. We have witnessed your Agulu fraud apologize for lying and misrepresenting facts several times, even deleting his tweets when being bursted. If your leader can lie shamelessly, how much more a bunch of empty headed supporters calling themselves headless mob.
Look at at how your changing the goalpost and rambling like a goat. So, if Nigeria has $30b net reserves, they should use it to build roads or railways or to pay salaries?, is that the purpose of a reserve?, Why are you bitter people so dumb?. USA has the highest reserves yet they are the most indebted country in the world, why can't you say they should use their reserves rather than borrow?. If Argentina secured this new tranches of loan, they will then overtake the US as the most indebted country in the world. This is the same Millei that Atiku and ignorant Obidients were once hailing but they don't know that he has plunged Argentina deeper into a hole than he met it despite cutting down costs and laying off lots of employees, thereby increasing the rate of unemployment. Imagine Tinubu trying to reduce cost by laying off workers in MDAs, it is you losers that will start wailing that Tinubu is taking jobs away from Nigerians making them jobless.

Do you know how many headlines those headless mob have twisted and misinterpreted?. They are not the first person to lose an election in the history of this country but look at them behaving like mad people. Thinking because that statistics-cramming Illiterate that increased poverty rate in Anambra, lost an election therefore their world has ended.

No mind them. They are called “Edless” mob for a reason.

Their ranting only end online. In reality, they don’t amount to anything.

That Agulu fraud Obi will never be president.

Lmao I remember when I told you obi promise to collect lumps sum of 10 to 15 billion loan to float the naira u argued its impossible

When defending currency lump sum loan is the ultimate because it builds confidence... With that u devalue to a figure u can defend for 18 months to build confidence...
- you forget major infrastructure focus on human capital investment especially important substitutes and export oriented businesses

Only a fool would focus on infrastructure when trying to stabilize the economy

APC refused to build confidence, used money to invest in human capital investment to build feel good infrastructure AKA legacy projects
- continue to pay subsidy in petrol and power

Tinubu have taken over 10 billion dollars loan achieved nothing with it... 7.7 trillion in subsidies yet petrol is ₦1000

8 billion dollars to defend naira yet it's ₦1500 to a dollar...
