Sarah paling's[John Mccain's running mate] teenage daughter is pregnant and American press is agog!
so what is the big deal about that? why are they making such a fuss about it?

Because the set of "Republican Values" that have been praised by many Republicans condemn sex before marriage, and Gov. Palin is a Republican and she advocates abstinence. So basically, she is a hypocrite. I don't care about her daughter having the baby, nor do I condemn it, but I think the woman is a hypocrite, and a Liar. Babygate. Look it up brudda.

The first/second family is supposed to be held up as an example. There are not supposed to be any flaws in the make-up.

That being said I think that is a problem with American Politics. Politicans are human too and make mistakes and pay for those mistakes. Her daughter could be someone who speaks to unwed teenagers and explain to them why staying away from sex or having protected sex every single time is important.

But since this is the game that we play here in American McCain should have never chosen her as a running mate. It is too close to election time and he is running a risk of this thing taking over his campaign. I am happy he did it and am loving it at this point.

I don't see any point criticizing her v.presidential aspirations because of this, other than her kids will suffer from less attention because she wants to 'serve the nation' - is it a case of being selfless or neglecting your family for political gain? undecided

What I will judge her on is this - if you have FAILED as an individual to teach your child abstinence education enough for her to abstain that she gets pregnant in high school, why should the nation listen to your opinion on that? If you can't make it work in your home, how will you make it work in other people's?

If you can't help yourself, you cannot help others. In terms of preaching about abstinence, she holds little substance since she failed to imbibe it in her own kid. All these distractions are not good for McCain, it takes away focus from her potential leadership potential. Frankly its turning into a bit of a farce.

Go to the religious section and read the thread "Premarital sex does not equal fornication" or something of that sort. I think that you will find the information there useful and relevant.

Jesus Christ. Why are you getting God involved?

Its simple, The republicans do not practice what they preach.

1. The Republicans are Pro- Life yet they support the war.
2. They say they do not want the government to be involved in People lives but yet enforce the patriot act.
3. They accuse Dem's of being spendthrifts but yet cause the country to be bankrupt.
4. They support the wealthy by cutting taxes on the rich
5. They believe in freedom but yet try to push the Christian beliefs on everyone. What ever happen to Religion being left out of politics. Didn't Jesus say "“Render unto Caesar the things which are Caesar’s, and unto God the things that are God’s”

Apparently everyone critisizing Palin must have been perfect, holy, obedient 17yrs olds that never disobeyed or went against their parents.  

 People are suffering with mortages, healthcare, gas prices, food costs, the war in Iraq and we're talking about a 17yr old girl who slept with her boyfriend & got pregnant? talk about misplaced priorities.

I know many Pastors/Evangelists with children that are crazy and are loose-cannons.
They preach all what is good to others but their kids are something else. . . . .How do u correlate that?
Some things are just meant to be and some kids just do these things out of rebellion.

Not just any republican.  She can get away with this in Alaska but she is running for the second highest seat in our government a heart attack away from the highest.  Sorry but we tend to hold those politician to a higher standard.
