The problem with the US these days is that we don't have real discussions about anything anymore and so people don't understand them.
Just soundbites and tweets.

You can't eat all the ice cream you want and lose weight.
It's not possible.
You can't produce the products people would get on Temu/Wish/Aliexpress/Walmart in the US without reducing wages or increasing prices.
People have to be more than comfortable paying more for these goods or cutting wages to produces these goods.

Since before 2015 he’s been gripping about China taking American jobs. He knows those sentiments will get him support. Yet every crap he sells in his crappy shops were made in China. Would’ve loved to see him walk the talk and manufacture in the USA. If I were a business owner making such loud noise about the negatives of manufacturing in China, I’d at least try to be the change except I’m sure my clients are too slow to catch on.

But Trump ran over that already. The minute he went after Big Law firms and Universities those firms and Universities acquiesced, it portended terrible things. If these big firms are scared to push back that doesn't say anything good for you and I.

Trump got more devious people around him this time. They had a plan to quelch dissent and instill fear in institutions that could stop him and is executing it. That's the reason he's going after universities and students. The protest and change movements usually begin in Universities. He's trying to bully the Judiciary now after Bullying Congress.

Trump defines what is anti-American, but the whole premise of what he is doing is UnAmerican and antithetical to what the founders envisioned.
