You noticed he intentionally omitted kanu name. This one na agenda
How about the Parizz guy that said he watched Kanu at the AFCON 2000,that all he does was to fall over the place like a pack of cards, but ignored that there was a match he got a hattrick of assists.
That was a big disrespect to great Kanu.
Even Kanu's fall is a skill on itself that got us several penalties.

Don't get yourself worked up over wrong notion.

People are not saying Kanu is the greatest super eagles player but the greatest Nigerian player,or the best Nigerian player.

Super eagles is the biggest team in Nigeria's football but it's not the only scale to measure greatness of every Nigerian player.

Sunday Mba wrote his name in super eagles history book with his AFCONS winning goals, but there were so many nigerian players who never won AFCONS or score that are greater or better.
bros abeg im not getting my self worked up ooo😂😂…my own is Yekini is the best player to ever don the super eagles jersey oo…anyone that wanna argue that should present a player that has those stuffs i listed of him being a super eagles player…they should even go and break his goal record self and same time win APOTY as a super eagles player…Godbless Kanu and he is massive legend of the game for Nigeria, same for some other top Nigerian legend..na my own b that o

There is no contradiction,
Kanu achieved more as Nigerian player than as a super eagles player.
As a Nigerian player,he won Olympics, U17 WC,champions league.
While as a super eagles player alone he won nothing.
You can't take away the fact that the SE is part of his career as a "Nigerian player" 😭

If he didn't play in the SE, that will make your categorization logical.

🇳🇬 Super Eagles coach Eric Chelle has shared his list of highly sought-after players eligible to represent Nigeria, expressing his hopes that the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) will do their best to call them up for the next international break. He believes that bringing in these young talents will foster competition among the existing players, which will ultimately be beneficial for Nigerian football.

Below are the standout names playing for clubs across Europe:👇

■ Noah Atubolu – Freiburg's starting goalkeeper who has set various records in the Bundesliga this season. He has represented several age-grade teams for Germany.

■ Felix Agu – The 25-year-old left-back for Werder Bremen, who has been capped by Germany's U21 team.

■ Caleb Okoli – A central defender for Leicester City, who recently moved from Italy's Serie A.

■ Samuel Edozie – A Manchester City academy graduate currently on loan at Anderlecht from Southampton.

■ Victor Udoh – A winger for the Golden Eaglets who signed with Premier League club Southampton from Antwerp in Belgium.

■ Tosin Adarabioyo – A central defender for Chelsea.

■ George Ilenikhena – AS Monaco striker who has been capped by France at the U21 level.

■ Michael Kayode – A highly-rated fullback who has been capped by Italy at the U21 level and is currently on loan at Brentford in the Premier League.

■ Kazeem Olaigbe – The 22-year-old winger who recently transferred from Belgian club Cercle Brugge to French Ligue 1 club Rennes.

■ Jacob Murphy – Winger who recently won the Carabao Cup Newcastle United

■ Ahmed Abdullahi – A Flying Eagles striker who played at the 2023 U20 AFCON and joined Sunderland from Belgium during the January transfer window.

■ Chuba Akpom – The former Arsenal and Ajax striker who moved to Lille in France and recently said he has been waiting for Nigeria call-up since he changed his international allegiance from England.

■ Kingsley Ehizibue – A rugged, hard-tackling defender formerly with FC Cologne, now playing for Udinese in Italy.

■ Josh Maja – Already capped once by the Super Eagles, he has been scoring goals in the Championship for West Bromwich.

■ Ebenezer Akinsanmiro – An Inter Milan loanee currently playing for Sampdoria. He is a highly-rated midfielder who signed with Inter from Remo Stars.

■ Carney Chukwuemeka – A Chelsea loanee at Borussia Dortmund who has been capped by England at the youth level.

■ Ethan Nwaneri – A teenage sensation who is making waves at Arsenal.

■ Tino Anjorin – A former promising Chelsea Academy midfielder who is now with Empoli in Italy.

■ Lesley Ugochukwu – Another Chelsea loanee currently with Southampton, who has been capped by France at the U21 level.
Can someone tell Chelle to stop wasting time on Atubolu and just focus on Arthur Okonkwo. That guy is getting better and better everyday. He should blood him in now. Soon if that guy no enter Premier League, a club from Ligue1 will snap him up
16 clean sheets in all competitions last season.
16 clean sheets already this season.

This Kanu's slander is really getting outta hand.

No Nigerian player is as good as Nwankwo Kanu. Not just about his skills but his brilliance on the ball and the kind of goals he scores.
I remember numerous occasions where Naija will be needing a goal, and once you saw Papilo jogging you Know penalty don come.
It was a script that played out countless times.Kanu was Naija's Joker then. Football then was traditional and not statistical like it's now. Impacting and influencing a game then was what great players do and not necessarily goals.

A player might dribble 4 defenders, destroy a defence and then pass the ball into the penalty box. The player he passed to might now pass to the striker to score. The most effective player was the player who dribbled and created the chance or space but statistics may not show it. There are players like that. Kanu is like that.

Remember his pass to utaka that made us defeat cameroon.
Statistics can be limiting. There are many matches we would not have won if not for kanu

I think you should accept the job. When they play against Nigeria, deploy 5 attackers, 3 midfielders and two defenders as in 2-3-5 formation.

That way we kill two birds with one stone. Naija gets to beat them woto woto and then you also improve your CV as a former squirrel coach.

I didnt watch Yekini... Big name... Records confirmed...

From my dad, I learnt of 3 players.
Segun Odegbami
Rashidi Yekini
Muda lawal

But I watched kanu.

You know how some images are ingrained in your head from childhood. It is that of kanu raising both hands up in the sky after the final whistle against Argentina at the 1996...

Also Nta has that particular clip in their normal adverts so I always see it. Kanu raise both hands as ref blew final whistle... Nostalgic 🥱

The best part however we're his Goals against Almighty Brazil in the semis.

Yeah the equalizer was dope, where he backed the 6 yard, and with his right, swiftly turn and blast in. Till tomorrow, I still always wonder what Dida was doing 🤔

Anyway, the 2nd goal, the Golden Goal had every touch of magic... oh Gawd🥶🥶

A long throw-in that hits the back of a Nigerian striker. And It fell on his lap just outside the 18. He feints the whole backline with his first touch to the left and rifle in a low shot to the bottom corner.

Game ends..
94th minute winner

I cant remember if I watched it live, but I always remember that goal...

I can make a case for that goal beating any nations cup or world cup goal he didn't get. Remember we almost beat Italy in 94 in a widely acclaimed best Super Eagle setup. Bulgaria we dismantled came 3rd and Italy beat us to advance to the final... Some crop of that team were the 96 sets and won an international events which is Olympic Gold.

They should win the 96 and 98 afcon atleast, imagine some part of that team even entered afcon 2000 final which they lost in Lagos. Now imagine the amount of Cups kanu should have won with SE. I forgot to add Heart surgery...

Infact... Kanu Nwankwo... No 1....

Osimhen loading...

That glorious pass to Utaka to score the winner against the diabolical Cameroonians in AFCON 2004 means Kanu has my heart forever! That pass is one of the best I have ever seen in my life. Kanu, Okocha and Oliseh were blessed with the most insane passing abilities that rival that of any footballer to have played the beautiful game.

If anything at all, Goodison Park should be the standard for all these state governments that want to build new sport complex. The design is not that complicated. I know 3SC own looks attractive to many but it can be way better abeg. Esp this issue of shade for other spectators. This rubbish design where the VIP box for politicians is only where a good shade/roof is seen needs to be buried 6ft under along with the 80s abeg. That sight irks me so bad.

Una must always complain

He has taken 8 penalties this season and scored 8 of them... He has just 6 misses in 28 career penalties taken... He has scored top goalkeepers in the process too. He has taken the highest number of penalties in all players from this current Nigerian squad and has a high conversion rate.

He go score Donnaruma or Martinez, even top goal scorers are seeing their penalties saved, no be new thing. He's good and scoring penalties is already a strong suit for him, I no know which improvement you dey talk again because Fenerbahçe goalie touched the PK? Etim Esin damn a good player but sincerely nothing to discuss about him, very indiscipline player that lack respect......he was so good that Nigeria bankrolled his surgical operation when he was shot leaving camp at night without informing his coaches, Nigeria made sure he made the under 21 team despite the gun shot.

He would have overshadowed Jay Jay or possibly JayJay would have find it difficult to attain his status just like we are yet to find another JayJay Okocha.

Etim career full of drama, from gun shot, breaking camp rules and later rape,he ran away from Belgium and never remain the same again, later played for Eagle Cement in Nigeria league cuz fans just want to see him again, during Eagle Cement matches, home or away, fans were eager to see Etim.

Etim rape case shattered Nigeria fans hearts and many didn't forgive him but Okocha erased it all and put smiles on Nigeria fans

There is actually no need for this gymnastics. Totally no need. If his SE career was dwarfed by others, it is what it is. Just the same way others would also have their club career measured alongside as far as we are talking of Nigerian player

Meanwhile, I don't take part in greatest this and that. Na vexation of spirit grin
