There needs to be a gap of at least 4 weeks (preferably 6 weeks) between your biometrics appointment date and your date of travel. The official guidance on their website is 15 working days (3 weeks) however I was told at my appointment this week that it would take a month. My sister (frequent traveller) waited 4 weeks for her passport to come out in January. She got 3 years.

Anyone whose passport comes out in less than 3 weeks during this period (April to September ) should consider themselves lucky. There is definitely a surge because most Dubai vacation travellers are rerouting to Europe since the UAE restrictions.

France allows you to apply 6 months before your travel date. So don’t hesitate to just book your appointment as early as possible.
Thank you

Even some frequent traveller we recently saw their visa approval post, there application spent like 3weeks. Probably there is high traffic during this time.

When I put in an application in Nov. I got biometrics appointment just 3 days after. A frequent traveller I assisted in booking an application earlier this month, there was more than 2 weeks ahead before I could get a biometrics slot. So there's most likely a surge this period.

And also weekend may affect processing period. I think he should plan that the application will stay longer.
Thank you.

I can't change the date of the event. Is there anything I can do to get an earlier appointment date?

This is my first time. What can I do?
First time, do not do it.

3 weeks max is processing time.

Plan for your event in future instead.

Which one be Yoruba na?

What of those that can't speak Yorùbá? Ejowo óo

Anyway, there's someone here that was denied Italy Visa just because he didn't show up at the embassy after he returned back to Nigeria.

You're very correct.

Once that caveat is there, make sure you come back to the TLS or Embassy upon your return

Once you exit France, make sure to keep the evidence.

Then when you return to Nigeria, show up with explanation

Princessadedayo:
Greetings to all, I submitted my application for a visa to France on December 30th and received an email stating that the visa is ready for collection yesterday. I am concerned whether this early notification may indicate a rejection, considering that it has only been a week since my application. This is my second time applying for a visa to France. In 2023, I had a 15-day visa valid for one month, during which I stayed for 12 days. Has anyone encountered a similar situation of receiving a quick decision that turned out to be positive?
This was exactly me yesterday

Biometrics at TLS Abuja - 24 March
Passport received sms - 2 April
Passport collected - 3 April

Took just 5 working days, shortest it has ever taken for me. They told me at TLS it would take 1 month so when I got the text yesterday I thought maybe I made a silly mistake somewhere or forgot something and got quick rejection.

Got 1 year multiple entry. Frequent traveller.

24 hours wasted worrying over nothing.

I am attending an event organised by the ministry. Actually an agency of the ministry. It is a competition with about 1000 entries from over 110 countries and our solution was one of the top 50.
Can you guide me on your application process, I am also attending a fully funded trip to france

Hello Everyone..We want to go on a family trip to Paris this October and would be applying around june/july.. But my issue is this (if it is actually an issue)- I am a Director in one of my Husband's companies and I have been earning a monthly income from the business since we started about 5 years ago..However, I own 20% shares in the company..Do you guys think I can use this in my application?..I have the CAC documents, tax clearance certificate and any other company document that I may need to present but my question is do I stand a chance? I ask because someone said they might feel the shares is too small.
I earn 450k monthly plus other allowances depending on the month and sales. I currently have almost 4m in my account and Hubby is going to be the sole sponsor on the trip.

Please note: we all have valid Canadian visas.
@hunee @davodyguy and other experienced gurus here, pls i need your input..thank you.

Stop panicking.

This is not UK

Put all the documents you have together, do a cover letter and come back here to share visa approval.

You don't need to even mention anything about shares

All documents to prove home ties, all documents to show you own company or co-own, tax, CAC, statement of account that will be enough to buy ticket for all of you, please hotel and feeding

A close friend did biometrics at VI yesterday 4th and got the email it has been transferred to the embassy same yest.
👌🏾 Another opportunity to review France Schengen timeline. I will share his response date afterwards.
He earlier had 1 Schengen visa he used only once, but I was surprised that despite just that 1 use, he was still categorised as frequent traveler.

Ticket will cost can between ₦5m-₦7m depending on Airline

Hotel that can accommodate 4 people can be about €100 per night (convert to Naira) or more

Feeding for 10 nights is €100 per day

You'll spend up to ₦10m or more depending on how you can manage.

So your sponsor account balance should be 1.5 times total cost

Alternatively, if your husband doesn't have that much, you can co sponsor .

Just make sure you have more than what it will cost

Now, You Begin The Documentation Aspect Which Is Most Critical . In No Order, Please Read
- Gather All Evidences Of Your Family Work( Cac, Tax, Pension, Etc)
- Proof Of Marriage
- A Letter Of Approval From Your Children School Or A Note That They Are Out Of School And Can Go On Holidays Overseas
-Proof Of Family Properties (Car Document, Land, Houses, Etc)
- Proof Of Parenthood (Show Evidence Of Your Child/Chidren Birth, Family Pictures)
- Attach Evidence That You Are Financially Stable( Employment Letter, Bank Confirmation Letter, Bank Statement Covering A Period Of 3month) Note: Your Account Must Have Sufficient Funds Close To 10m Above Is Fine.
- Letter Of Co - Parenting , Affidavit Of Return As A Family - State All Names Of Family Members That Are Traveling To Paris In The Document And Assure The Embassy Of Your Return.
- Proof Of Previous Trip Out Of Nigeria- Copies Of Your Canadian Visas, Etc - Note That You Are A Frequent Traveler If You Have Being To Uk, Us, Schengen , And Canada - I Think, So Do Not Register As First Timers For Your Tls Appointment - This You Can Confirm From Tls Customer Care In Advance.
- Letter Of Financial/Sponsorship Support - Duly Signed By You And Your Husband Stating That You Are Both Co-Sponsoring The Trip.
- Passport Of You, Husband, Kids - Original To Be Submitted - Also Do Copies Of Data Pages (Colored , 2 )
In Addition, You Can Take Passport Sized Photographs As Requested By The Embassy At Tls - It Cost 6k.
Other Documents, Letter Of Introduction, Letter Of Leave Of Absence Drafted By Your Hr, Duly Signed And Stamped, Flight Reservation(Do Not Pay For It) Use Ethiopianairlines.Com , Hotels Reservations (Booking.Com, Hotels.Com) , Attach Other Support Documents.

I Wish You All The Best , And Do Tag Me For Further Clarifications

Subsequently

Hi everyone, I appreciate all the knowledgeable people who have keep this thread educative and informative.

First time poster so please pardon me if I'm trespassing any rules.

I want to ask very random questions and hoping the experts here can be kind to give a good answer. I'll have questions for two different people applying for France visa later in the year.

1. Can a first time traveller working on a yearly contract basis with Lagos State government get a France tourist visa?

For example, if all other documents are intact (insurance, flight bookings, accommodation, itinerary, proof of sufficient ties back home e.g. caring for an elderly parent and managing a parent's business, recently rented apartment, landed properties).

Also, for person 1, if their basic salary from the contract role isn't up to 100k but they have a personal account with good money flow hence their balance/statement of account as at when applying can be ₦ 5m or more with total debit/credit of ₦ 10m and above.

2. Can a first time traveler with salary of 250k with a private business with similar situation as person 1 excluding the caring for an elderly parent get a France tourist visa?

For these two people, I'll be including a comprehensive cover letter, day-to-day itinerary and even prebook some refundable tours just to present a strong application.

Also, an unrelated question, has anyone has any positive experience with using generated proof of funds for applying for Schengen visa?
