LAMATA originally proposed these 7 lines and a monorail during the administration of Governor Bola Tinubu, but there have been some modifications since then. 1) Blue line: Okokomaiko-Marina 2) Red Line: Agbado-MMIA-Marina 3) Green Line: Lekki Airport-Marina 4) Yellow Line: Otta-Iddo 5) Purple Line: Redeemed Camp-Ojo 6) Brown Line: Mile 12 - Marina 7) Orange Line: Redeemed Camp-Marina *) Monorail connecting Victoria Island, Ikoyi and Lekki Phase 1. Changes: The Yellow Line will now go from Otta to the National Theater. The Orange Line will now go from Ikeja, through Alausa to Ikorodu. There will be no Brown Line. |

Southern regions are developing; Northern regions are destroying. Allahu Akbar. |
| Re: Update On The Lagos Green Line Project by nairalanda1(m): 6:30am On Apr 06, 2025 |
MightySparrow:Under Ganduje, Kano was supposed to have started a similar monorail system The State house of assembly rejected the plan largely because the loan burden from the proposed loan that would have funded the project was a lot. Also, if you notice, a lot of states don't have monorail systems. Both north and south. The cost implications are too too much. |

A resource that would be looted in a major kickbacks and siphoning technics. Tinubu is too corrupt to manifest just strives and ambition. That is why he is using Wale Edun and not his boy Sanwo Olu |
| Re: Update On The Lagos Green Line Project by nairalanda1(m): 6:42am On Apr 06, 2025 |
hakinamor:Lagos has the revenue to do such projects. Most other states would have to take loans to do what Lagos is doing. Even then, Lagos took 15 years to do two lines out of seven. 15 years. It's because the cost was too much. |
| Re: Update On The Lagos Green Line Project by SmartPolician: 6:47am On Apr 06, 2025 |
Chai! Many houses and businesses will go down for this project. Cries go plenti but it's for the greater good. |

J2ff:Eti-Osa didn't vote for APC so they abandoned the project ![]() All Nigerian politicians are petty! |

Tbh, when these projects are completed, Lagos would look really amazing. I can't wait for all these "danfo and agbero" nonsense to stop in Lagos. It would really boost tourism in Lagos state and improve the overall outlook of the state. |

Why can’t the blue line extend to Badagry? If you decide to build an orange line from Ogun state to Lagos. I see no reason why the blue line should not reach Badagry. |

Meanwhile sit at home continues in one Redmud region like that ![]() |
| Re: Update On The Lagos Green Line Project by naptu2(op): 7:12am On Apr 06, 2025 |
Sheuns:The Blue Line will reach Badagry eventually. The issue is money. If you give them money, they'll make it happen faster. |
| Re: Update On The Lagos Green Line Project by Sheuns(m): 7:16am On Apr 06, 2025 |
naptu2:I think they should channel the money they want to use for other lines to finish up the red and blue lines first then they can begin others. That was the initial plan by Fashola. I wonder why this governor is taking up so many projects that’ll eventually be abandoned. The blue line ought to have been completed long ago but dragged on for decades and it’s still not gone past mile 2. Face 1 thing and complete it before embarking on others. They budgeted billions of dollars and took several loans for the blue line and now you’re complaining for them that there’s no money? |
| Re: Update On The Lagos Green Line Project by Chimaokigwe: 7:16am On Apr 06, 2025 |
SmartPolician:They abandoned the bridge but completed the Abraham Adesanya to Eleko Expressway? You really should stick to your sit at home nonsense and stay out of matters above your IQ. |
| Re: Update On The Lagos Green Line Project by naptu2(op): 7:20am On Apr 06, 2025 |
Sheuns:That was not the original plan of Fashola and that doesn't make sense. They are making more impact by doing bits of the Blue Line, Red Line and Green Line first. People in the Orile area are feeling the impact of government, people in the Agege area are feeling the impact of government, etc. It is not concentrated in one area. For example, right now on the other thread, someone is complaining that there is no rail line to Ikorodu. He says that the Blue Line serves Badagry area, but no line to Ikorodu and Ikorodu is being neglected. I'm enjoying the drama, perhaps both of you should talk. |

Tinubu initiated these projects and made sure his successors did not deviate from the projects. Very visionary. Btw, which projects did Atiku and Obi initiate and made sure their successors continued with? These are my own parameters for comparing the three of them. These are real Legacy projects that outlasts Tinubus tenure not some fictitious achievements some obidients spew about their Messiah. Imagine if Tinubu had been president since 1999. |
| Re: Update On The Lagos Green Line Project by SmartPolician: 7:26am On Apr 06, 2025 |
Chimaokigwe:I'm writing about the real Eti-Osa and you are talking about Eleko Expressway. What's the connection? BTW, you should consider dropping your fake Igbo moniker and start using a Taiwo or Kehinde instead before spilling trash. Ping me when Lagos State fixes Lekki - Ajah expressway without tolling motorists. Now, that's the real Eti-Osa road. |
| Re: Update On The Lagos Green Line Project by Sheuns(m): 7:31am On Apr 06, 2025 |
naptu2:My point is simple. Finish one project 100% before embarking on pipe dreams. You and I know that the other 5 or 4 lines won’t manifest and if started will take decades to complete. The ikorodu line the guy mentioned is valid, it is more important than the line running from redemption camp to Marina. Do you know the blue line isn’t used much by people living around Orile? |

SmartPolician:Al these upcountry bushmen. Don't go and face crumbling Alaigbo, be studying the geography of Lagos. Ewu Biafra. My moniker is to pepper pigs. |

LAGIS, a country within another country. The builder of new Lagos had not stopped building. JAGABAN the builder of New Lagos and New Nigeria |
| Re: Update On The Lagos Green Line Project by naptu2(op): 7:37am On Apr 06, 2025 |
Sheuns:My point is simple, give them the money and they'll do everything at once! Were you not the person complaining that the Blue Line will not reach Badagry? Were you not the person that said that they should finish the Blue Line first? Now, all of a sudden it is not important. 🤣 Now I know that you are not serious and I won't read your post again. Good bye. |

Part of the entertainment comes from watching people desperately search for ways to bring negativity into good news threads. It's very funny. |
| Re: Update On The Lagos Green Line Project by Skodiswayze(m): 7:43am On Apr 06, 2025 |
Point of correction, the Lagos rail line project is funded by the federal government, not state funding nairalanda1: |
| Re: Update On The Lagos Green Line Project by Mubiola360: 7:43am On Apr 06, 2025 |
nairalanda1:Lagos state also borrow to execute the project, they are the highest debtor but we are seeing what the are doing. Lagos was generating 600m before Tinubu but he raised it to 7Billion , The rail master plan wes initiated by him but remeber, being an opposition, Obasanjo frustrated him, didnt pay Lagos allocatìon , God fearing Yar'adua paid all which gives Fashola the capacity to begin the project, Ambode abandoned it all through , continued by Sanwo Olu. Delivered Blue and Red,Green on it way. With continuity and focus, i belive by 2030, all would be completed, Thus is the reason why Asiwaju had to come in using FG influence to hasten it up. |
