God1000:What he said? This incident is avoidable, delivery starts at ante-natal and you that doesn't have money don't have to patronise the private clinic. I knew of someone, that delivered her 3 kids at both RCCG maternity centre and Lagos Basic Health Centre! May God console the family |

If a woman can risk her life for a man's child and he couldn't afford 500k for her treatment then every women has d right to know a man's financial capability before marriage, this isn't about gold digging but fact! |

nairalanda1:So do you mean every woman should stop having children or never get married because of the inflation caused by bad governance? They should they wait until the economy magically improves then they’re already past childbearing age? Let that sink in. Think deeply. Life is not balanced. If you're rich, be happy and don't ever mock the poor. Never ever mock the poor. It is bad.Be helpful to the poor. Everyone can never be rich. |

God1000:The hospital is a business not a philanthropic organization. Na poverty make am loose im wife with tinge of irresponsibility. He had 9 months to prepare for any eventuality. You did not have N500,000 to pay as deposit but you were able to raise it at the mortuary. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u-tcOWcoOpw?si=PLqB5NDq-ByGwiXH |

All I know is this: the hospital did the right thing. I premise this on two things. First, the hospital may lack the medical equipment and facilities to handle such emergency. Admitting the woman would amount to killing her, maybe without the noise on social media now. Second, they did it refused her to safeguard their business due to negative experiences from clients in the past. Believe it or not, some Nigerians find it easy to abscond with their medical bills once they are free of their health problems. My internship in a medical facility in Bayelsa State years ago revealed to me the wickedness of some people. Still, our governments have not deemed it fit to assist the private hospitals with loans and other incentives since they (the governments) cannot maintain public health facilities. |

God1000:why should he blame the hospital? Nigerians we too like free things, we are quick to compare Nigeria with developed countries but we are not ready to do what citizens of developed countries are doing. Someone is running a private a business and you expect him to treat you free when you don’t even have health insurance, we as citizens need to start doing the right things if we want to enjoy some certain things. Business is business don’t bring emotions or feeling to business |

ennon92:As I wrote earlier, hosp may reject if they think they would not be able to manage the case appropriately. In such case, the hosp shouldn't just kick her out but arrange appropriate and safe transport for the pregnant woman because she registered her pregnancy with them, they have e a responsibility towards her. If the hosp fail in regards to above, then they are negligent and U have no fault at all. U trusted the system but it failed U. We know naija is a mess, and healthcare is no exemption. But we expect a man to be a man and cover his own side of things especially when it comes to raising a family. |

Osariemen12:Nigerians can be heartless. My dad is a retired medical doctor. He worked for many years in a faith-based hospital. In the 2000s they will admit patients without a deposit. Patients will arrive at the emergency and their families will wail, beg, plead that the patient should be admitted and treated while they run round to raise the deposit. Immediately the patient gets well u no go see im family members again. Before u know am patient don abscond from ward. ![]() |

This guy is creating content with the death of his wife. He's looking for people to give him money. It's a shame. |

This man should just shut up and mourn his dead quietly. The society owes him nothing. The earlier he understands this, the better. He is not the only one to lose a wife and the hospital he ran to with empty pockets is not responsible for his wife's death, his negligence was. He failed to plan so he had already planned to fail. Let his wife rest in peace. |

God1000:Just one or two scans in the pregnancy would have showed she had a problem and avoided this needless death. Men, please don't joke with your wife's antenatal visits. Make sure she goes. Even follow her to go |

Pascal9:If a man has N1m after two kids and is expecting a third child, it means the man will be able to handle basic pregnancy emergency. The 1m is not for raising a child. |

Hussein035:The reality is that in todays world, parents need to be proactive. Child birth in a place like Nigeria is between life and death. A sizeable amount of money must be prepared for possible emergencies during birth, especially if registered in a private hospital. IN AT LEAST 7 MONTHS OF PREGNANCY KNOWLEDGE, start borrowing if you have to before date of delivery, if you dont need it, refund it back. It somehow appear like wickedness to let women go in to the labour room that can easily switch to life and death situation more expecially in Nigeria and not have money for operation. We are supposedly smarter than our parents or grandparents and should begin evolve sensibly. I am a man and somehow feel if men were the ones delivering babies, they would make better arrangement for the risk of child birth. |

This lying lunatic should shut the hell up! Did his register for antenatal? If yes where did she register? Why did they have to barge into an hospital they've never been to if she had been previously registered somewhere else? His wife was working 3 jobs yet couldn't get adequate care during her pregnancy, speaks volumes about the kind of husband he is! He must have been collecting her earnings leaving little behind for her to care for herself. Now she's gone, he wants cash out from her death. God save women from irresponsible scallywags disguised as husbands, if only these women knew they're 100% better off alone! |

TONYE001:Rather than the said private hospitals then "taking laws into their hands" by being wicked and treating the next patient like some slaughter animal with freedom to die and they don't care, how about collectively seek for effective people identification and a health financial sector that'd provide credits for patients and pay them cash? Wickedness, lack of empathy, rejecting patients without referring them (meaning the patient should go and die) are very rampant in the Nigerian health sector. Most of Nigerian health workers and private hospitals and even government's are merciless, unhelpful, and it's a fact. |

God1000:Sometimes, we need to take responsibility for our actions and inactions. The other day I saw this guy on tiktok and one question that crossed my mind was what was he doing on tiktok? Is it to elicit pity or to give insights into his inactions that contributed to his wife's death? We don't really need to blame government for everything neither should we blame doctors and nurses all the time, these people make sacrifices too and you dont be surprised that they either don't get paid on time or they are owned and they have families too. While it is advisable not to advise a man to reduce the number of children to bring into this world when you can't fend for them or provide when there are emergency situations such as this, some people need to reason too. Think about your children and also think about your wife. Just #500,000 cost the ladies life and the man is busy making contents instead of sitting down to think how he also contributed to her death. Pregnant women are prone to have issues during pregnancy and if you must get your wife pregnant you need to be ready financially, he should stop passing the blame to doctors and nurses alone and also blame himself. |
