The picture by djdamin is the correct (updated) drive belt diagram.

Belt size is 7PK 2170.

Ensure your tensioner is in good condition.
If not, replace with a tokunbo unit.
Nice one, anyone using civic should be vigilant of their mechanics switching belt sizes. It's always the Genesis of their adjuster bolt 🔩 issues

Nigerian mechanics are the problems. They should stop trying to fix Hondas like Toyotas. This has been a source of problems between them and me.
'Na like that we dey do for Toyota’. Such comments dey vex me. Maybe in time, I'll bring in tools and start fixing my car myself.
As far as those belt routings are concerned, the first pic is the correct routing for civic 2010 , according to alldata. I'll check for the '06-'08 if they are different.
.Exactly.

The biggest issue with the 8th gen Honda Civic is unskilled mechanics who don’t really understand the car. My last Civic is proof—mechanics ruined it and it was just a frustrating experience overall.

That said, I still prefer this 8th gen Civic over any Corolla or Camry from 2003 to 2006. It looks better, handles nicer, and is more fuel-efficient when everything is working as it should. Though, the 2006 model had some factory issues, so that one’s definitely a no-go.

Sorry about your ordeal, it's one of the things we see in the hustle. Also stop driving into people's compound it's not advisable. I hope you are safe now and i hope the also paid you. Remember to report the ride
Word. Block of flats or tenement buildings, maybe but Private residences are a complete NO. Unless you have load, elderly or disability.

Comments for this thread isn't encouraging to think of getting 2006 civic.
Civic wahala...I Met a guy who was looking for mechanic at 8.30pm last night in Lekki by Parktonian Hotel, his belt has cut and hook inside the pulley. He say he has spare belt in the booth. I pity am cos he is going to sleep with his car in that place.

Sorry for the experience, boss.
I can imagine how frustrating it would have been.
I'm sure say all drivers dey encounter her type once in a while.
Despite their attitudes sometimes, me self no understand why I prefer taking them than taking male riders.
From the time she show dat negative spirit at the PU point against the 'paid waiting', if na me, I go cancel the trip straight and drive off.
Me I no dey take nonsense again ooh.
Lastly, some places I no go ever pick riders, that Sam Ethan Airforce base dey among - including ICM, Ikeja Cantonment, Bonny camp.
I've only taken a trip to that Ethan once, cos I just wanted to see how that place looked like, since I neva enter there before.
Omoh, it is well.

Much respect, sir.

I'm planning to restart the business with a focus on rentals, I currently own three cars, since I work remotely and rarely drive, I don't need at least one of them for now.

However, the 30k weekly remittance is nothing to get excited about, especially since owners are responsible for most of the repairs.

I go just keep my cars jejely
Bros, I can deliver 50k weekly in Lagos. Maybe we can deal. A trial will convince you.

Most of these mechanics are bastards! One idiot recently broke my tensioner while trying to put the belt back on after having removed it. He spent almost 2hrs trying to put the belt on, yet botched it.
I had never seen that level of incompetence. I'm still terribly vexed because the tokunbo replacement I bought makes a rattling sound. And it's louder when the AC is on.

I know. But few things are often changed on those from later years of the same generation.
I think Honda released a service bulletin on this issue after the ’08' models.

Rental fee dusted over night you mean? Baba, driving overnight isn't something you brag about. It's really not worth the risk.

Bro, no be war oo.
Whether night or day shift, one has to be at high alert.

I have stated my reason for night-shift is cos I manage my resources better @ night.

- I have a partner I drive with. So we monitor our movements.
- We drive on routes with high security presence. Surulere-VI-Lekki
- We use in-drive only.

Will post more tips

But why should this be the case?

Why should an owner cry for entrusting a vehicle to someone to make a living for himself and in return pay a certain commission to the owner? Are you implying that all drivers are wired mentally to cause pain to owners?

Definitely not all drivers. Maybe some foolish ones. I've never had any issue with owner.
