My Father Can’t Support Atiku – Bauchi Governor's Son by TimeManager(op): 1:33pm On Apr 14, 2025
Shamsudeen Bala Mohammed, son of Bauchi State Governor, Bala Mohammed, has openly stated that his father cannot back former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar’s presidential aspirations.

In a post on his X (formerly Twitter) handle, @shamsudeen_bala, he responded to a user who expressed hope that Atiku and Governor Mohammed would unite to revive the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

Shamsudeen explained that Atiku undermined his father’s 2023 re-election campaign by backing the opposition and mobilizing influential Bauchi figures against him.

“Honestly, it would be difficult,” he wrote.
“Because even if he wins, there’s nothing he would do for us except settle old scores. He didn’t support us in 2023—he backed the APC candidate and used Bauchi elites to oppose us.

We barely survived it. He’s made it clear he doesn’t value us enough to engage in dialogue.”

His comments highlight ongoing rifts within the PDP ahead of the next electoral cycle.

Here's a Governor's son supporting his father and attacking his father's critics like Atiku but if Seyi Tinubu supports his father, Nigerian wailers will come for him. Atiku, you have been given a red card in Bauchi. No wonder, Bala was not with them in the coalition and their meeting with Buhari.

Atiku the power monger. 2027 is still far so let me not jump into conclusion.
Re: My Father Can’t Support Atiku – Bauchi Governor's Son by ElevationD: 1:45pm On Apr 14, 2025
Yes because his father wants the Presidential ticket. Bala Muhammad eyes the Presidency. The northerners feel that they can battle BAT to reclaim the Presidency in 2027.

That aside, I doubt that Bala Muhammad has the political power nationwide to stop an Atiku interest. He can only stop Bauchi delegates from voting for Atiku in a PDP Presidential primary.

Many factors are against the oppositions, if they failed to merge as one united force against this APC government ...one of the key factors is MONEY.

Election is not cheap in Nigeria. I don't see any of these parties effectively prosecuting Presidential election against the APC without having to source for huge funds. The PDP governors are not helping the party..like the then Gov Wike used to do. Rivers State is currently out of their hands...where will they see the funds if there is no mergerhuh

I hope they allow sense of reasoning prevail over ego and make sacrifices

Atiku missed a big opportunity in 2023. He had poor advisers.
He should have negotiated with Wike, but over-confidence.
Now see him at old age, running up and down still looking to be President

Atiku is an empty barrel with too much stolen wealth at his disposal...!

That's why he destroys everything in his path wherever he goes.

From PDP, he went to APC and helped them put Nigeria in this mess in 2015... He left them because they clearly weren't ready to grant him his heart desire to get the Presidency.

PDP messed up by allowing him back into their fold... And he wasted no time in burying that party.

Nigerians need to purge the political space of these criminal and corrupt old men running the Political scene...!

...And the only way to do that is via a Bloody Revolution or Brutal Military takeover.

Since neither is likely to happen anytime soon, it's fair to say the nation is irredeemably DOOMED!

Omo Iyaloja Oshodi really got the juju passed on to him very well.

How did he scam Pandora Bitter Obi, through wicked, ologogoro Wike, into helping him mobilise 100% SE votes to ease his way into Aso Rock for continuation of APC shege on us?

No be juju be that huh

2023: PDP and politics of healing Wike’s self-inflicted injury

Then, the race began in earnest for three years now, reaching a frenzy with the works of the two PDP committees on zoning. The first was the Gov Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi committee on the zoning of the PDP party offices. The Ugwuanyi committee quickly told the world the committee’s assignment did not cover zoning the office of the president. Though this was true, the question is: why didn’t the Ugwuanyi committee zone the PDP chairmanship to the North without aligning it to the divide that would produce the PDP presidential flag-bearer? The second committee headed by Gov Samuel Ortom of Benue state was specifically on the zoning of the presidential ticket and, with the votes of the representatives of all the 17 Southern states without any exception, the Committee unanimously recommended throwing open the PDP presidential ticket, which the PDP NEC simply upheld.

One thing irrefutably stands out – Wike shot himself in the leg. Here was a man who had an overarching influence on both committees but could not insist that the ticket be zoned South. Many had wondered why? The reason is also relatively in plain sight: the Southeast factor. As the clamour for zoning of the presidential ticket of the PDP to South reached its crescendo, many had pointed out the fact that though the PDP Constitution had prescribed zoning of the office of the president to be between North and South since the South-west and South-south had taken their turns in producing the president and the vice in this current dispensation in the persons of Olusegun Obasanjo and Goodluck Jonathan, zoning this time around, should not just be to the South but the Southeast.

Atiku Abubakar went a step further by offering to step down from the race if it would be agreed that the touted zoning to the South would mean micro-zoning to the Southeast. Wike and the rest could not take the Atiku challenge maybe because Atiku would likely back Peter Obi, who was his vice-presidential running mate in 2019 and an ally. The prospects of Peter Obi picking the ticket if PDP zoned South was so real compelling Wike to go for an open contest, believing he could pick it up ahead of Atiku, Tambuwal and Bala Mohammed, given his large war chest.

Are you betrothed to extreme poverty for life, with your generations unborn? That is a question, in case you did not notice.

The eyesore on Bourdillon Road
2nd January 2025

Beyond his neighbours, there is something about the sight of people hanging around a president’s residence that does not speak well of his leadership capabilities. Maybe no one has nudged him to see it, but the impression that spectacle on Bourdillon Road generates is that Tinubu enjoys the sight of suffering humans and thrives in—and through— their poverty.

If all these years, impoverished people hang around you and you remain comfortable enough to keep them just so they can be handed tokens of your large heart, then it means you have a pro-poverty mindset. Such a frame of mind is oriented toward cultivating poverty rather than stimulating abundance.

That is why he could unproblematically relate the story of his “friend” who went from using five Rolls Royce to a far-less valued car and not consider the import of the nonsense he was saying. That spurious account was an indication that this is a man for whom poverty—of others, not himself—is an ideal.
