Just one out of the many investors who are set to make Nigeria home. Nigeria was well marketed at the last economic summit in SA so I expect to hear more ivestors buying into the brand. This is just the beginning guys. GEJ needs to do more in tackling the infrastructure deficit. Happy for my country, happy for the gateway state. smiley

Kudos all the same. The drive to industrialize Ogun State is surely working, in Agbarra alone the number of new companies under construction is very much. I just secured a well paying job in onne of the new factories there....

Why all the different slogans - from "Eko o ni baje," to "Osun a dara," to "Ogun ishe Ya?"

And what are the slogans for the other Yoruba states?

Impressive!

However, they need to spread the love to the other SW states. Lagos is fine and Ogun is on the come up. It won't be a bad idea to create massive industrial estates in the remaining SWern states. Industries and warehouses are the biggest employers of labour in every country and the machine that drives the economy.

Also, I hope Nigeria has a functioning Labour Union because most of these companies, esp. Procter and Gamble, love slave labour. They'd rather employ cheap temporary workers than permanent workers - so the Labour Union has to give them the guidelines/rules-of-engagement and protect Nigerian workers as well.

Yes, they are spreading developmental ideas that are suitable for each state in southwest. Industrial estates thrives better in Lagos, Ogun and Oyo. Ekiti and Osun deals more with agriculture which the governors there are really investing on. Ondo is also doing great in agricultural programs, mineral extraction and little of industrialization. Note that Nigeria's biggest refinery is to be built in Ondo state by Dangote, worth $8billion. I wish Ondo can also buid her mini sea port(she's not landlocked) to reduce the pressure on the one in Lagos.

Dangote to site $8bn refinery in Olokola FTZ
Indications emerged on Wednesday that the $8bn refinery proposed by Africa's richest man and President, Dangote Group, Alhaji Aliko Dangote, would be located at the Olokola Free Trade Zone, Ondo State.

A senior official of the company, who asked not to be named because he was not authorised to speak on the matter, told our correspondent that the refinery would be located in the OFTZ.

One of the factors considered for the location of the refinery, according to the source, is that it is the biggest deep seaport in the country and other big industries are located there; besides, Ondo is one of the oil producing states in the country.

The source added that stable crude oil supply was also a vital element in the choice of the location for the refinery because Chevron and a number of other oil producers had oil fields in the oil-rich region of the state.

On why Lagos was not chosen, industry analysts said though the state was a coastal state, Dangote would have to build pipelines to transfer crude from oil fields to the refinery, thereby incurring additional expenses.

Good development. Gone are those horrible years when the likes of Michelin, Dunlop, Textile companies etc were relocating their plants to neighbouring countries. The renewed interest in Nigeria by local and foreign investors is a testimony that the economic policies and infrastructural development drive of the current administration are yielding fruits. The future is very bright. Naija is back on track once again.

With hundreds of factories and rich moguls and many private universities been sited in Ogun state at the present: I keep saying it, the best time own your plots and acres of land in Ogun state is now since there won't be any difference between the state and Lagos by 2020 when Gov would have been done with his tremendous transformation. Like Robert Kiyosaki would say: Smart investor invest when the market is cool. Not when its hot, and there is a stampede. In 2005 a plot of land in Mowe-Ibafo was selling for 100k. Today, you can't get a plot in the same location for 5million.
Call for cheap budget friendly plots in any parts of Ogun State no

It was Samsung, and now P&G. And all in Ogun state!

That state needs to be watched for in years to come....they have been taking some developmental measures over the years besides these two.

Nigeria's point of civilization if I'm correct!

I'm not here to promote any party, but that road has been contracted to CCECC come 2014. And besides, the current governor met everything in the state in total choas and disorder left by his former PDP Daniel. P&G are not as blind or sentimental as you, they are merely projecting and are aware of what the state will be in 10 years to come, just as Eleganza, Jide Taiwo, Bayo Idoko owner of Diamond Estates, and other smart real estate and industrial investor foresee Lekki when people like you called it a jungle, and flood ravaged part of Lagos. Use you inner eyes, not just your feelings bro.

Let them go try that in some southern states like Rivers, Delta, Part of Edo, Bayelsa and see if 30 % of that money wouldn't be used for community settlement before the impose their local labourers on them. Ogun deserves all what they are getting today.
