inyass2580:Those that were producing standard product, standards didn't jump on them from heaven, they kept tweaking it up till today and keep changing the so called standard we buy into here. You think na only Nigeria dey produce rice with stones. Others too don chop their own pass until they were able to get it right. |

Nigerians mostly are stupid people they always think it's the government. But the average Nigeria is insecure. Everything foreign is good everything local is bad. They will make so much money in Nigeria convert and jakpa while demonizing same country. Like bro you just made millions. Even if it's bad. You made millions off it. How bad can it really be for you to make millions?. Thank God Trump is deporting. Me I urge every European to join him everyone go be a man and make your own nation great again |

inyass2580:Oga na small small things dey start. Had we embrace local product more, YALE biscuit no go exist highest it will be imported by those who wants the products here. All these protest Nigerians dey do no be the real deal. Until una protest to defend local content then many of these foreigners running these companies will sit tight regarding looking inwards. Nigeria is a dumping ground because they know Nigeria don't value and defend their local content. Ukraine need money for their war efforts their closest neighbor Poland whose is been used to transfer weapons never allowed the agricultural products flood their markets or use their country as means to market Ukrainian agricultural products. They never allowed Ukraine agricultural products affects their own. They battle Ukraine tooth and nail over it. You don see or study closely how YALE will slim fit biscuits in the name of high cost of exchanging Naira to dollars or increase in fuel prices. You don see and study how these beverage industries producing all sorts of coke and Fanta slim fit their 100cl 50 cl 75 cl e.t.c in the name of high cost of exchanging Naira to dollars or increase in fuel prices. That should tell how terrible Nigeria is in terms of using local content to support industries in this country and that most of the industries import their raw materials from foreign countries ![]() A slight change in dollar price, Gala of 50 Naira becomes 200 because most of the materials used in production are imported. Nothing locally to adopt or develop. Dem don use foreign things finish us for this country. Trump is realigning how trade is being done all over the world nations are readjusting, Nigeria's economic team don't know what to do yet and how to spin it positively in their favour |

yinkus6750:Na to start small small. All, those foreign rice Nigerians cherish, those people too don eat their stones tire before they eventually get it right. Nigerians don't want to go through that pain brought about by the elite spoiling us with imported products under a terrible economic policies over the years that crippled local content. |

QuinQ:I agree. There was a day I sat down and had to think about this RICE problem in Nigeria. I looked at all the six geopolitical zone, I discovered all zones have their own rice some with different varieties. For example, in the south west, it is the Ofada rice. That is the rice we are expected to produce and eat in the southwest massively and possibly innovate it production and preparation. Where is Ofada rice today? Buhari made me know about Abakaliki rice. Our leaders don spoil us with foreign content we are chasing shadows now. |

This article is so spot on. There is an underground shift on how we perceive and patronize Nigerian made products. I will use my personal experience as an example, before now, I will never think of buying My My toothpaste, my product was Dabur herbal, but today, I use My My and I am pleasantly surprised at the product's quality. |

MrPresident1:That's why I'm surprised most Nigerians don't realise Trump is fighting to prevent America from becoming another African country. His methods might come across as high handed but he's very correct in the fundamental principle China's exclusive control of manufacturing for the rest of the world is what has led to African countries like Nigeria becoming dumping ground for Chinese goods of inferior quality with negative effect on local manufacturing. We then go back to same China to get loans to build our roads and rails which they build themselves and thus still return the money to China. This cyclical movement has kept manufacturing at its lowest in these countries with attendant affect on the economy in terms of jobs, cost of living and standard of living China is simply forcing the rest of the world to dance to their tune |

The problem with made in Nigeria is the wicked motives of our people. We produce a lot of fake products just to make money because we lack the Intergrity associated with business. |

achorladey:You nailed it. You'd be surprised how easy it is to forget you can make something yourself once someone starts giving it to you. That's why China is dangerous. Even something as simple as cooking, once you form habit of eating out, you'd become lazy about cooking - something that was easy for you before! |
