Good day my Nairaland family, my son's health is at stake. He has hernia, he is 6 years when he was 2 years I discovered that one of the balls is bigger than the other and I took him to hospital the doctor said he will collect N80,000 to treat him but he did not mention hernia, he mentioned one science name, I don't have the money.

I took him to a herbal woman, she gave us herb and I paid N6,000 after sometime it came back, I requested for the herb again and treated him after some months it came back again.
I went to another herb woman, she told me it is pile she gave me herb I used it for him, it left and came back again, that is how I have been using different herbs for him for the past 4 years and it is still swollen, it was a month ago a doctor told me that it is hernia and it is only operation we can do to treat it and the bill is N100,000.
His daddy is out of job and has debt on him, we only survive on my work ,I have been trying to get a loan to pay the bill but I don't have the collateral they are asking for, please help me.

Please, help me Nairaland members I have been facing this problem for the past 4 years, I don't want to continue using herb for him so that it will not damage his liver and kidney.
If I can see anybody that can pay in an hospital then I will take him there for the treatment, I will really appreciate it.
I will really appreciate it if I can get a financial assistance to pay for the hospital bill.

Be very careful where you take him. Take him to Luth immediately. The wrong doctor and he may never have a child of his own. I know people who had that problem and the procedure was botched. It affected their ability to conceive severely.

Somebody also advised me to take him to government hospital because is a delicate one, I will take him to government hospital tomorrow morning.

The doctor said it is hernia, they asked me to bring him for surgery on 12/06/2025.
I meet someone there, he brought his son for hernia surgery today is the date they gave him, he said his boy is 3 years I asked him how much they charged him, he said N90,000, but they have not told me my son bill maybe it is on the surgery date.

It is not possible any hospital esp general hospital would tell you to make payments on surgery date,it is not done in that way ever!!
There is a dairy which you would be slotted in after you have made payments
I have someone in the system and I would ensure they follow up with the hospital number you posted above

But for transparency sakes,

Post each paper there separately,

Separate each paper,blur our sensitive names and post them, information on the paper needs to be verified,

If all is confirmed to be true,

I personally would add money to the amount needed for the surgery!!

U met some guys with a particular uniform. They were the one that gave u that date as your first appointment.

That isn't your surgery date but the first time you will be meeting a consultant. They will still ask you to come a lot of times before u will be given a surgery date depends on your son's condition.

I was not used to the general hospital system, when I got there, I was directed to the place where I meet mothers with babies, I was giving a form to fill after that they called me to go and pay for card which is N1,500 I paid and returned it to them. They directed me to weigh my son then they took the papers inside a big building there were a lot of people who brought their children I also saw pregnant women there I think that is the building they attend to pregnant women and children, I entered the building and the doctors were calling the children's names, when it got to my son turn I entered and I explained to the doctor that I thought it is pile the doctor was surprised and laughed at me, I was just looking.
The doctor checked my son and said to me that it is hernia they are putting information on system, he wrote it inside the paper I posted here and directed me to another building called surgery department, when I got there, the woman collected the paper from me and wrote 12/06/2025 at the back of the paper that I should bring him I even thought that is the date they will do the surgery and I meet a lot of people there both adults and young people.
