Please what does it mean when you get a mail from ircc that “We updated your application status” but when you check there is no changes on the application.

If you are on top of your MyCIC account, checking notifications and messages (Junk Folder, etc) and you don't see anything else, then likely an internal GCMS mechanism.

Please someone should help me with a mobile contact of IRCC's United Kingdom (London) visa office. I would like to find out the status of my application, it has taken too long. My application is already 6 weeks ( submitted 4/03/2025) whereas the current processing time of the application submitted from UK is 4 weeks. Thank you for your swift response.

What’s the status of your application

Nothing has changed on my status. I don't know if they are working at the back end. I didn't go for biometric because I have valid biometric I did in 2021 during my first Canada Study Permit application. Secondly, I maybe exempted from medical in the sense that I have been living in the UK for more than 6 months. I think because of these, there's no update on my status.

(Our school gives opportunity to study for a semester or session at another university outside Finland)

A ban from Canada does not automatically disqualify someone from getting a student visa to the USA or Australia, but it depends on why the ban was issued. Each country evaluates visa applications based on its own immigration laws, but serious red flags like fraud or misrepresentation can cause issues globally.
Australia If the Canadian ban was due to fraud, deception, or criminality, Australia may deny the visa under "character grounds."

U.S The U.S. visa process includes security and background checks. If the Canada ban was due to something serious like immigration fraud, misrepresentation, or criminal history, it may show up in global databases or during interviews. Your friend must answer truthfully. Lying can cause a permanent U.S. ban. There is still a possibility for him to be granted an F1 visa.

Always check your spam box. Someone was waiting for PAL just like you for more than a month and she later found out it was in the spam.

Keep sending mail to the school everyday. Call them back to back. registrar@ibu.ca. You would def get a response. I think you need to pay a year fee.

I just got Admission to Fanshawe college today although I have a valid Canada visit visa valid for 10 years.

Will that increase my chances for student visa??

No one can say what your chances are, SP application will be judged on its own merits, if you meet the requirements then you are good to go.

Yes only that the dependent spouse will not be issued a Spousal Open Work Permit(SOWP) unless it is a Master Program.

Thanks for your reply... I've been reading this thread since January started from part 21 and I've seen various reasons for rejections .. so I felt like if I added my own business and statement it might help boost the POF and home ties stuff like that

Even if you don't add a bank statement. Proving that you have a business and is Registered is a very good reason for home tie and additional source of income. You don't need to include your MFB since you're being sponsored.
Come only if you have enough money to settle bills.
And that period is when I got here too and it was rough because its the start of the winter. So you should be prepared and get accurate information that will help you.

Is there any advantage of a 2 year course over a 1 year course in a Canadian university?

The 2 advantages are:

1. If you do a 2 years program, you will get 3years PGWP (If the course is PGWP eligible).

2. You will not be worried about study permit extension after your one year program(If you are admitted for a one year program)

If all the funds you require is available in your account, then you don't need to submit his SOA.

There is something called Financial Support Letter and it has a approved standard by IRCC. Make sure you include this letter. Articulate well your Source of Funds and ensure a proper tabulation that shows the flows of funds and the ones you have direct access to which is very key.

With all that, you should be good to go.
