Supreme Court rules definition of woman in Equality Act refers to 'biological women'
The definition of a woman and sex in the Equality Act relates to “a biological woman and biological sex”,

Interesting step in this whole saga. This case was decided on the one issue of whether references in the EA 2010 to a person’s “sex” and to “woman” and “female” are to be interpreted in the light of section 9 of the GRA 2004 or not. The answer was not, so more test cases likely to be brought in this country with an eye to the prevailing weather in the US, no doubt. Effectively, following the judgment, trans people are still legally recognised in their acquired gender (GRA 2004 is still law, the UK Supreme Court doesn't have the same power that the US one has to overturn legislation).

I think we can both agree that you lack knowledge/ experience of UK politics.

Go ask Theresa May how she's faring now. Gun, trigger, cupboard indeed😂
Lol.. typical.

We call it ad hominem.

Lol.... who's "we"? 😂😂

Anyways, I call it strawman fallacy.

It's not ad hominem because I directly addressed your comment(s) which have revealed your naiveté about the UK electorate and politics. For example, your comment expecting Kemi/Tories to have made significant gains in the year after their near-extinction at the polls. Hilarious.

What is ad hominem actually, are your comments about your Dear Enemy. After being persuaded to dislike her by your followers lol, you now persistently attack her and even go as far as making up comments that she didn't in fact say, in an effort to further your narrative and delight your base. Rather "chaldish" (in the words of Love Island 2019 lol).

It's more than just a step, it's a hugely seminal moment in the enshrinement of women's identity and rights.

The ruling made it clear that trans people will still be protected from discrimination, which is right; however it now also means that women's rights will not be degraded and sacrificed as a consequence, and guidelines will soon be updated to reflect this.

Does this ruling now means offices and stores would need to have trans toilets. 😒

Definitely a seminal moment, agreed. But part of a process, because the ruling still leaves somewhat unclear the status of trans people as it appears to create a third category of sorts.

This rulling is not straightforward in practical terms, office policy regarding this will not change much, we will still have neutral toilet

It's up to the organisation pending official legislation. Trans people might have to use disabled or gender neutral spaces.

Agree that clarity is needed regarding the provision for trans people going forward.

Hopefully Labour will get off the fence now in respect of this issue and advance public policy and clear guidelines.

I *think* many trans men utilise gender neutral spaces like disabled loos if they are not comfortable to share with biological men, so perhaps trans women can also adopt this in the interim. I suspect that trans women who look more like biological women will still be able to get away with using female spaces.

I'm just pleased that women and school girls will no longer be forced to share their safe spaces, sports etc, and hopefully the end of cases like the NHS nurse who was suspended for refusing to share a changing room with a trans woman doctor.

This is just a UK ruling. The Nigerian Supreme Court might rule differently in his favour 😂

Their Nigerian passport? Or would they have us believe they've already secured a foreign country passport and changed gender? Hard to believe, but one supposes that one can put out any sort of stuff on social media, nature of the beast and all that.
