Well, at the end, there are probably a lot of similar people walking around in rwanda, sierra leone, liberia, etc etc.

People that commited brutal murders , who all got rehabilitated because, the alternative is continuning anarchy

Back in 2009, such people were lined up and shot dead by soldiers.

And the whole thing was on camera.

And guess who used the video for recriutment purposes....it was Shekau. With the added story that it was christians killing muslims. Can be very provoking...like the shootings at the Niger bridge in 2016 led to many people joining ESN and shooting back.

IN cases like this, you try rehab...or you risk the army fighting a forever war. It may work, it may not.

Remember that many Boko members are still on trial, and many hardcore members are still in jail. NO rehab for those.

This is Nigeria

Where we celebrate criminals more than the Patriots.

Felt the same when I was reading the headline and you will hear in tomorrow news now that they are informants to the dread group they radicalise them from.

De-moralizing

Why would a young Nigerian be motivated to join the Nigerian Army?

There are a lot of similar people in African and many other countries. Some have died peacefully.

In this world, there is no justice.

But one thing I know, when we were killing boko people on camera, lining them up and killing them without trial, Shekau took those videos and used them as recuritment and as a result we had an even longer war. This is the least bad of several options, and anyway a hard core group of bokoists are either in jail or on trial. No rehab for them

Heck in LIberia, sierra leone, and many other african countries, former terrorists actually serve in the army. IN Sierra leone, they got 100 dollars and a radio after short training. You think everyone liked it?

The world is not fair.

Many policies of the federal government are geared towards building up the Fulani people. The Fulanis are quiet and never shout on social media or on the streets, but they silently control things in Nigeria. We all know they do not truly belong in Nigeria, or anywhere else, as a matter of fact. They are everywhere and nowhere (Buhari said it: He belongs to everyone and to No one), but they control Nigeria's government. That is why you always see policies that favour them; like the RUGA project that would've made the Fulani the only ethnic group to have their own local government in every state of the country.
Now this herdsmen attacks and the impunity they enjoy is exposing the plot even to the blind. They are now being rewarded by every state government. El Rufa'i started it in my state and we thought it is just an isolated case. Buhari was promoting the RUGA project and we all said he was just Fulani that was why. They are now committing mass genocide of a holocaust proportion in Plateau and Benue states and the government is silent. Now we can see other states following suit. The land grabbing is almost complete. They mostly target the most fertile lands.
The problem with real Nigerians is that we are not united. We always wash our hands off these attacks as long as it is not happening in our place. E go soon reach everybody house. I can never support retaliatory attacks, because then, innocent people will suffer the most, but we need to hold this government accountable for each gunmen attacks; the perpetrators need to be brought to justice.

In short , killing them is not the solution rather than rehabilitating them bah ?? But after rehabilitation , most of them go back to the crime with a handful of informations and begin to unleash mayhem again

This your assumption is utmostly wrong. It will only make sense to weaklings and if I'm to follow it, I will argue that's why terrorism will never be eradicated in the country as the reward is a pat on the back and heroic welcome. All it does for troops is weaking the morale and make them seriously put their patriotic choices on the line. What will the family of folks like Lt CT Avong think. Young men who died before 28 without leaving a child behind to the grieving mum. And we have over million Avongs. Act of terrorism is a federal offense, and it should never be supported either passively or actively. Historical books on the civil war gave me a hint that muritala tactics as a successful commander happen as he will announce is coming to the Biafrans and play a mind game on them. Alabi-isama in his book the tragedy of victory made it known that one of the blunders the 3 marine commando made was giving amnesty to Biafrans POW. And some of this same folks crippled captain Garage 2IC to utuk, were caught trying to poison the water source for the soldiers and successfully killed Isaac Adaka Boro. I will end with a quote from the former secretary of defence in the United States. James Mattis. Forgiving a terrorist is left to God but fixing their appointment with God is left to us.

Constructive criticism please.

Not so Sad after all.
We all can now see why Southeast youth are justified for boycotting the NA recruitment exercise - effort in futility!

Come to think of it, If I have someone dear to me whose life was cut-short by these terrorists, and they have the gut to gather them all together in one place like these...
Na to give them a taste of their own medicine. Allah go understand!

So a rebel that cuts off people's hands and rapes and kills and forces kids to do the same is better than a Boko man who does the same.

You really think strange, old man.

For me, they are the same, and it would be my great pleasure if both could be gassed or crucified like the Romans used to do, however, the world is not fair, to you or me.

Yeah, that's why Liberia and Sierra Leone have issues to this day. Some went back.

Plus congo Dr never rehabilitate those who were involved in all the numerous wars that have been fought there since independence

That's why it is the rape capital of the world and why they are currently embroiled in civil war no 7 or 8., and why the UN is always camped in their country

But then again, you are free to hate Muslims. I am learning not to hate people who hate me.

Well most bokoiist are not fulanis, they routinely attack Fulani cattle markets and loot the cows and so forth and also attack fulanis too as well and they are a big reason why many Fulani are fleeing south and coming into violent contact with farming communities

People like you who keep defending gross evil and injustice may not end well or find peace with God.
A beautiful country that should have been a paradise is continually turned into a hellhole but instead of rescuing what is left, you-lot continue to defend and support this evil.
So, we're to free criminals, arm robbers, assassins, murderers and heartless terrorists who waste innocent souls so that they wont use the tape to recruit? How does that sound to your empty skull? So it's no longer a crime to be a terrorist? You can become a terrorist, waste lives, one day say you repent, you get pampered, rehabilitated, absorbed back into the society and you're free to start terrorism a fresh? You must be mentally deranged.
May God the righteous judge unleash his wrath upon people like you who defend evil. It's like until calamity befall some of you, you won't have sense. Innocent blood shed and precious souls who committed no offense are being brutally wasted, if you're idle, it's better you sleep than coming here to spill trash that can bring calamity and wrath of Almighty God on you.
Thanks for calling me evil

When you think innocent lives and blood being brutality shed is a joke, perhaps when a similar fate befall you, let's see how convenient it'll be to come back here to spew your trash.
God Almighty the righteous judge and God of vengeance will bring his fierce judgment on all the heartless injustice in the country, the doers and all of you supporting it. The blood of the innocent souls will be required of you.

They know that to really win in an insurgency, you deploy many approaches.
I know of many people who were forced against their will to fight (sponsors of BH came into their poor communities disguised as NGO and gave them empowerment money. Months later they revealed their real intentions and asked all they gave money to to take up arms and fight , if you refuse you are killed so many of them were forced to fight) they deserve a second chance.....
Afterall many youths in the Niger Delta got amnesty after killing security operatives and are on salary till date, this is the precursor to this kind of arrangements and won't be the last, Im seeing a situation where the next agitation from the SE will be to be asking for Amnesty for Biafran agitators.....and I'm almost certain it will come to fruition

But I know most southerners don't get this angle to the "repentant" Boko Haram fighters angle

This is the best news to APC clowns. They are always happy to read such. Have you ever heard them complain of insecurity?

They prefer to be homeless, jobless, foodless as a result of APC's maladministration and keep supporting it, renewing their hopelessness other than to protest or demand an end to APC.

You just have a subtle way of defending evil and stupidity!

Because terrorists use propaganda, the government must forgive coldheart murderers just to prevent recruitment. You are sick.
