sorry I’m reading your response to her. Would you advise me to go ahead with my bro Canadian account (he is on work visa ) or my a family friends account here in Nigeria (I would say my uncle on paper) or it really doesn’t matter. my bro is work visa as his wife is schooling in Canada.

I really don’t know what’s best because the responses I’m get is just very conflicting. One told me since he is not a relation I should stay clear. Another told me so far as my bros account is legit it doesn’t matter.

But how do I explain I have relatives abroad. Please can you help.
Hello.
I have zero information about your F1 application (PhD , MSc, Bsc ? Married or single ? Etc) so concluding accurately might be hard.

But generally, ask your uncle to send the money into your account (and state self-fund) and leave it all through inside your account until after your visa interview . Or ask your family friend to do the same.

US embassy also prefers and accept your sponsor (s) to remit the whole money into your account so that disappointment won't occur in the case the sponsor dies or hospitalize, etc or just naturally change his or her mind to not fund you again

Do not use your uncle if he is a dependent of his wife in Canada but you can use him if he is legally working and paying his tax. Erase the idea of your family friend .

Note: If you are however a PhD applicant then anyone can support/fund you (that is called investment) but with affidavit of support along the bank statement. At this point anyone you chose must reflect in your Form I-20. Ciao.

Hello Everyone, I need advice. I have 2 sponsors on my I-20 but the DS-160 form only allows 1 sponsor's information. How do I handle this? Any experiences? Thank you.

[img][/img] thank you so much.

That’s really the only option I have. And I was given time to request an I-20.
I didn’t want to use a foreign account but I don’t really have a choice
Use your brother's account and be bold to tell the VO he is going to pay the outstanding. I am not sure a VO will bring that up seeing that you have full funding and your I20 will likely indicate family funds.

Godgivenchild:
Presenting a bank statement that is not in your name or that of your parents could significantly reduce your chances or make it harder to convince the visa officer of your relationship with the sponsor and their willingness to support you.

If you need assistance funding your account to reflect your deposit, I may be able to help—especially if you are banking with institutions within my reach. Feel free to DM me.
Please Wokeupandslayed, don't follow this advice I beg you in the name of whatsoever you hold dear.

Submit his statement and move on. Why are you giving yourself so much stress? Please, calm down so that people don't read your fears/stress as desperation. He is your brother and he is willing to support you with the deficiency annually.

If your school admits for both spring and fall, then you can defer for a semester and not an entire year. That way, you'll still have your admission. But, there is no guarantee that you will still have your GA.
However, you don't give up. If you're qualified for a GA now, you can always get another the next time you're trying. Keep pushing; wishing you the best.

Bigdoo11:
Thanks for your response, but I may lose the GA and the tuition waiver if I defer to spring. Also I have defer 2 times now which is the maximum deferal for my school. This means I will even have to reapply for admission. Has anyone been in my shoes please..this is sooo frustrating

I had this same exact issue on the 27th of March.

My case was a fully funded PhD offer with no deficits.

I have been trying to understand what exactly is the issue.

Also I mentioned something along the line of “coming back to Nigeria” to start a consulting firm. I rushed through the delivery while speaking, the VO asked that I calm down and specifically asked if I would be seeking employment in the private or public sector, of which I stated Private sector.

I was already smiling internally when I saw the VO reaching for a white paper, alas it was an “administrative processing” paper. My passport and I-20 were “detained”
Hello, has there been an update on your application? I was also placed on AP last Thursday.

Hello.
This transcript is outright and pre-meditated denial. It does not deserve 221g. If anything the embassy is investigating if you have not committed other visa fraud or looking for loopholes to ban you.

Eventual visa approval for this transcript is dim. Ciao.

Hi Efe,

Please I choose free delivery unknowingly and I will be interviewing next month in Abuja but I am based in Lagos.

Please do you know how I can update the delivery option to premium delivery before my interview so my passport can be delivered to Lagos?

Your response would be appreciated.

Hello.
Chose premium delivery from the beginning if you can afford it (though you can change delivery options B4 your interview).
If you chose free delivery now and later chose premium delivery after the issuance of your visa it can take 2 weeks to get the delivery of your passport except it you paid for express delivery.
Although the stated issues does not happen all the time but most time OIS, DHL and the US embassy misunderstand delivery messages amongst themselves especially changing from free to premium. Ciao.
Please proceed with your visa application, you only need up to 6 months validity on your passport from your program start date on your passport when applying for your visa.
You can renew your passport when you get over there.
