This was the biggest mistake of my life. We had no money and we had to depend on her parents for everything.

I received direct and indirect insults from her father, mother and even the last born of their household.

It got so bad that one day her mother served us soup and as we were eating, she dipped hand into my soup and took out the piece of fish inside and claimed she mistakenly added it to my plate. I cried that night.

I would work morning to evening on her father’s farm without pay. I swallowed everything with hopes that I will find a job and move us out.


Few weeks after we moved in, My wife started behaving funny. She would ask me for money to buy things which she knew i did not have.

When I told her I don’t have she would start quarreling with me. This is something that never happened under my roof.

Her mother began to control her. Since we moved into her parents house she never allowed me to touch her. I became so frustrated that I wanted to use the small money I had to rent a short time hotel for us so we could spend time together as husband and wife.

My Wife cried and accused me of wayward lifestyle. She reported me to her mother and they held a family meeting for me.

I became ashamed for lack of privacy and watching my life waste away. I finally packed my things and left. My wife or her family did not even beg me to stay.

Most Nigerian women are just too selfish. You don't want to stay with your husband's family but you want your own family to disrespect and treat your husband anyhow. You are comfortable with it and you even joined them to maltreat and abuse him. All the females in the comments are busy supporting her and abusing the already abused guy.

All these nonsense didn't exist in the times of our ancestors who had multiple wives. Those women competed among themselves on who the husband will love most. Men die easily these days and almost all the women have the mentality that it's the obligation their husbands owe them to die on time and leave them alone with their children to enjoy their children alone at the stage when the husbands are supposed to start reaping their sweats they spent their primes for their children.

I have told myself this, any woman that shows me disrespect, I will disrespect her too. If she loves me, l will love and cherish her too & be the center of her world. If she sacrifice for me, I will sacrifice for her too. If she's selfish, I will be selfish too. If I discover any oita of selfishness in her, I will have another family outside and let her know. Thanks God I can remarry but she can't. Whatever hands she gives me, that's the same hand I will return back on her. If she wants the family to scatter, it will scatter and I continue family with the other woman outside. I didn't come to this life to live it for another person's selfishness.

Good men dey suffer for this life shaaa. If your own family and kinsmen don't destroy you, your wife destroys you. If your wife doesn't destroy you, your friends destroy you. If your friends don't destroy you, your colleagues at work destroy you. In all of them, they treat you like enemy and simultaneously demand you take care of them with your own life. Either way, you just suffer badly for being a good man. Seems like this life favours bad people and punishes good people. If you give people your undivided attention, they ALWAYS abuse it badly and make you regret it.

Never ever ever move into a woman’s house in this life. I am a rich guy who once bought an expensive penthouse for a galfriend of mine and she begged me to in with her whilst my house was being built. That was the costliest and most silly mistake I ever made till this day.

Last year we had several attacks in my village and everyone had to runaway for safety.

I took my wife and children to my mother’s house and decided we should pick up our life from there.

My wife was very sad and said if I love her I will move her and the children to her own family’s house.

At first I rejected this idea but she stopped eating my mother’s food. She was pregnant and was losing weight fast. I became afraid that she might lose the baby and her life.

She later had a miscarriage and accused my mother. It caused a lot of troubles.
With the little savings I had, we moved to my Inlaw’s place.

Ooooh I see. I don't follow people stories here. I didn't know he had posted it before that he has 5 kids. It is well with him.

All thanks to God I was able to get a good job after I moved out.

I am now earning nothing less than ₦150,000 monthly.
I can buy what I want and eat well now.

I have gotten a place for my wife and children to stay. We are now living happily together.
