Good evening, I just purchased a laptop and I want to learn a profitable tech skill before the end of the year. Please advise me on which skill I should learn and I'm not after instant cash out. I want to learn a long term profit skill.

Go for data science because of machine learning. We are in the world of AI

Lol...Cybersecurity! Where are you going to see the job after learning? Are you able to set up a lab to attack as part of your learning? Just look somewhere else if you are really serious. I'm sure you don't even sufficient experience on Linux System admin. And you dey eye Cyber. Well it's great to be ambitious. Aim for the moon, if you miss you will land amongst the stars. Mindset without resources is a waste. It's like saying you have the mindset to be an astronaut in Nigeria. You are already 1000 steps behind your peers in the west who are already exposed to it. I asked, can you set up a lab of say 10 computers (virtual or bare metal) for you to practice Cybersecurity? Many folks don't even know of Proxmox (or XCP-NG or even EVE-NG), talkless of having the hardware to run it to create labs

I would love to go that lane but time is an issue

It’s strange how many many people don’t leverage ChatGPT to its highest capabilities. Maybe because they don’t know what it’s capable of and how to prompt it.

I recently had to do some academic work in my field and had to read one of the most boring pieces of Academic Texts. I had read it years ago but I no get power to dey read like I’m in school. Threw prompts at ChatGPT on Monday. And if not that I slowed down, I would have finished the book in a week.

I’m NOT SURE I will read any academic stuff again like this. I’m on the Pro version so maybe it’s different in the free version

I’ve started throwing a lot of stuff at it. Of course read through and challenge it when it vomits nonsense. Learned the hard way. Wanted to install some stuff and wasn’t ready to RTM. Asked Chat and me mumu was just following. After two hours of turning around like a barber’s chair, I asked the “mumu” if it knew what it was doing and the response wasn’t convincing. Luckily it was a lab I was testing in. Ever since then, I always throw a “You are lying. Making up all of that nonsense on the go”. If it’s sure it will respond with references backing it. If e no sure, e go Dey speak English. Always vet and double check whatever it gives before I even try them in a lab. Once I have it vetted, lock it down to an automation (Ansible or cloud-init) and I’m golden

I see you mention Cyber security, please note that it's not entry level and you might never get a job as a fresher...but to advise, you can start by studying the Comptia Trifecta (Google this) to help you decide if you really want to go this route.

I think graphics design and video editing are kinda basic, I want to go into something great, necessarily not make money by the end of the year but something when I learn it I get an edge
