I keep wondering if this port is effective. Someone I know has been thinking about starting car importation business, but doesn't want to use Lagos port.
Is this One port effective enough to bring in cars from the USA? What about the clearing process, it is also effective?
the real problem are the people, everyone want to be settled, lots of black tax in South South in addition to all the one custom and other agencies will collect

Businesses in the South South and South East should start using Onne. Lagos ports need to be decongested

Who is this benefitting? ...we are celebrating bragging rights ... the shippers are celebrating record income. Good development for who? We need to celebrate when the ports are used for exporting value-added goods more than importing foreign goods. 1000 containers coming in with imported goods...how many going out with exports?..25? We would be exporting empty containers to be refilled .or have a problem with empty containers stren all over then soon we will be beating our chest at another milestone.... the country with the most container homes...how innovative we are .

For me I will only be excited if the vessel is taking goods to other countries.

Atiku's Intel did a wonderful work in Onne port. A well organised port that would have served the country and diconjest the Lagos port, but because we are blinded by regional and tribal sentiments, that port is just idling away.

The one that made it happen is the same master strategist that you hate so much....the Jagaban. grin grin cheesy cheesy

Onne port is one of the sanest ports in Nigeria. Unlike crazy Tincan and dead Apapa.

But hard to believe a 6,606 TEUs vessel is the largest to berth in any Nigeria port. Larger ones have been definitely.
They mean in Onne.
Lekki Deep Seap Port birthed bigger vessels regularly

You've been regurgitating this gibberish for ages, but Lagos keeps moving forward while you keep repeating the same old story. The present administration is making the port a success story under Tinubu's leadership, yet you're still ranting about the "Lagos mafia". Isn't Tinubu from Lagos? Maybe you're just a kid or confused, someone who likes to troll on social media.

You made an Economic Sense in your Contributions.
Whenever you want to import, you look at factors like:
1- Closeness to your destination.
2-closeness to your Clients - for Sale/ Disposal purposes.
3- Cost reductions,as the Cost must not outweighs the Revenue , otherwise, your Profits will go down.
4.Length of time to clear the goods from the Sea- in avoiding demurrage.
•That is why Lagos Ports ( Apapa/ Tin-Can) is the Most preferred destinations -for Vehicles from USA and Europe, because of it's Closeness to the Northern Hemisphere - Europe.

Those who blame Lagos seaports for the absence of development in their region, what do you have to say to this huh
Can't you see they now ship their goods to Onne port rather than using Lagos tincan. Your jealousy and envy towards them have beclouded your mind that you cannot think right. Thank God Onne port is working.

My pain is that this LARGEST VESSEL will be going back with empty containers, instead of our goods for export. This one-sided business is really not good for our IGR.

Loss of revenue for Lagos and an increase for SS.

Let’s wait and see what happens to awa Lagos when ports in Delta, Rivers, Cross River, and Akwa Ibom become fully operational.
Why wait and see instead of WORKING with your own senator and representative to make it happen sooner rather than later?

Of course, yes. The vast majority of our lands have been taken by NPA. Right now, we don't have anything left for our people to use for their source of livelihood like farming and fishing. So it's imperative that NPA's corperate social responsibility be met, and the provision of light is included.

Good comments 👍👏
You see what our Past Leaders Compromised Lagos Development - through hates and jealousy by Other Tribes then,by saying - let us Move Capital to Abuja?
To the Southern leaders then( Southwest,South East and South - South)- You People - Played Into the Hands of the North - who Now See 🙈 Abuja As their Own! Is that what Abuja Supposed to be ?
•- Has the Movement Affected Lagos Development ? NO! For Lagos Now Moved - On Land, Trains 🚂,On the Sea And On Air!
-It is lack of Foresight and Selfish behaviours -to think that a State like Lagos, will ever Slow Down.
Please, those who play ⏯️ those terrible 😔 Cards- How Now?

They need to move that pipeline that is making dredging impossible at the warri sapele neck of the Sea.
I don't really think it's that pipeline nigerian ports politics is the major cause why warri ports is not fully functional relocating that pipeline is not big deal if they really want to.

Onne is not the only port in Rivers state. There is another fully functioning port in Port Harcourt which you can use to import containerized cargoes. Warri and Calabar ports are also fully functional. So, what’s your point again?
Where is warri port located? It has been turned a naval Base.

Nothing is going on in Calabar port.

Work has stopped at Akwa Ibom port due to disagreement between oron people and the state.
