Drone95:Hello Drone. Pick September 2025 because picking any date first will give you other options (reschedule and emergency appointment). Not picking a date at all leaves you in a delicate situation because you won't have access to those aforementioned options. Follow the attached screenshot (click on the arrow) in the first and 2nd page. First page will take you to the 2nd page (inside your avits profile ) and in the 2nd page (emergency appointment page) you must tick the circled after which you will have to click on Create Emergency Request. Be certain that you have paid your SEVIS fee and have signed your Form I-20 before you make the move . Attach sevis fee receipt , and Form-I 20 in the upload option. Ciao 👍

Good evening everyone. I am really confused, please I need advice. I have full funding ($32,184) for my MS program that will start Fall 2025. My school asked for $5k proof of fund to add my spouse as F-2. Here is my question, I want to know the effect that the proof of fund that I am going to send to the school will have on the visa interview. I plan on going together with her to the interview. NB: That both me and my wife are working in a good company here in Nigeria. 1. Should the whole $5k be in my account, and what will this mean to the consular officer since she is also employed. 2. Should the whole $5k be in her account, and what implication does it have. 3. Should we split the fund, say $3k for me and $2k for her, and what implication does it have. NB: we don't have a joint account. 4. Please who has gone interview with their dependent at the same time, how did it go, what do we expect. Please I need you guys to talk to me before overthinking finish me. |

Otelsmyg:Hello Ote. I have answered this question b4 but let me expound it. I do however hope someone with good experience can corroborate (it seems you want to compare multiple answers). 1.The best option is for the whole 5k to be in your account because you are the principal applicant and your wife is your dependent. That is that , you are also the bread winner of the family (US consular are human beings and they understand Nigerian family characteristics). 2. The whole 5k can be in her account too it does not really count . Some wives are more learned or more financially stable or calculative than their husbands. The only two things that voted for the money to be in your account is that ... You re the principal applicant and You re the husband . It does not affect the visa outcome but it affects the mind of the visa officer . 3. Splitting the fund is becoming a complex case. It's better you transfer the money into either's account. I am not voting for this but if you don't have a choice you can go ahead . 4. I have done it and i know lot of people who have done it. No individual family transcripts can help you. Go back to the beginning of this forum and study different family F1 visa transcripts. Good LucK 👍 |

Hi Efotobore, Thank you for your detailed response. I am grateful. I will go with the option that the money will be in my account. I have another question, we don't have the full $5k equivalent in Naira, if we can get someone to deposit the fund, how long are we going to leave it in the account before we print the account statement to submit to the school for the I-20s. Secondly, can we arrange the account statement via olowore. Thirdly, does the school and the embassy carry out verification of the account statement. |

Good evening House. Please I paid my Visa fee online using Firstbank Link for other banks on 17th April . But up till now my payment has not been confirmed. I have raised a ticket AVITS and also emailed firstbank but nothing has been done. Has anybody experienced this kind of issue before ? |

Please my friend has an F1 visa interview coming up next week. I was the one that helped her pay for her visa using my US debit card. But now she doesn’t have a visa payment receipt. How can she get it since we didn’t receive a notification of payment receipt. Has anyone been in this situation before? |

Otelsmyg:Sell some of your personal properties to raise the fund, borrow from family members/friends/colleagues or church/Bank etc. but never the option of submitting fake documents. You said you and your spouse both work in good organizations, so i find it hard to believe that both of you can't gather resources together (including respective family/friends) to make this big opportunity count. Your school agreed to fully fund your Msc program so raising $5K should be the least of your worries tbh. If you can't raise that amount then go alone first with your full funding. Don't try anything funny with false documents. My 2 cents. |

Debbie6534:Hi. I have the same problem, raised a ticket and I was told to ask the friend to get a card payment receipt from the bank, though I’m yet to attend my interview. |

Lotacious:[I we Lotacious:nt to Lotacious:the bank and they said they cannot provide receipt. And they believe the merchant (uscis) should be the one to send me a receipt of confirmation. Were you able to get the card payment receipt? |
| Re: General USA Student Visa Enquiries-part 18 by Efetobore1980(m): 7:03am On Apr 27, 2025 |
Debbie6534:Hello Debbie. 1.Call or email your US bank (or the financial institution attached) to email you your bank statement for the month. You will be able to do the photocopy of the MRV payment debited log and your friend can take it along. Or 2. go to your email if you do receive email notification of the debit and print it out as evidence. Or 3. if you received SMS notification forward the SMS to a printable format and print it out for your friend . MRV payment evidence is what the embassy are looking for because they knows that you cannot book an appointment without having paid MRV. One of the above suggestions should work. Ciao 👍 |
| Re: General USA Student Visa Enquiries-part 18 by Lotacious: 7:13am On Apr 27, 2025 |
Debbie6534:Hi. Yes, the receipt was provided at the bank, unfortunately the support line insisted that they don’t issue receipts, only option is to get an invoice or payment receipt for MRV from the issuing bank or financial institution used in making the payment. Please who else had same challenge and how did you resolve it? |

Lotacious:Good morning, I also paid my visa fee tru card and don't receive any payment receipt in my email, but the person who help me pay screenshot the payment successful page ,that what I took to the embassy, I was asked at the embassy why did I use card, I replied by saying i was told is very fast.so they only confirmed the reference number on the payment receipt.

Chemist4life:I was scared, because the name on the receipt is the name of the person who help me to pay not mine, but it went tru after confirming the reference number |

Hello everyone, could I use coming back for nysc as a way to show I have a tie to the country or I shouldn’t mention I haven’t done it at all? |
| Re: General USA Student Visa Enquiries-part 18 by zinachidi(m): 6:42pm On Apr 27, 2025 |
zinachidi:hi guys, please she has an interview tomorrow by 2pm. What if we cancel the appointment can we reschedule or she must pay another MRV? She obviously can't make it tomorrow, we have tried raising tickets, emails , just generic responses. The numbers online are not going through. Please what to do. |
| Re: General USA Student Visa Enquiries-part 18 by Efetobore1980(m): 7:05pm On Apr 27, 2025 |
zinachidi:Hi Zinachidi. I have answered this question once and asked you few questions which you refused to answer. I will tell you my true opinion again. The first arrow (downward) indicated that she has a payment issue or was that not her avits profile screnshoted by you ? The 2nd arrow (pointing to reschedule upward) indicated that she has a complicated appointment because any reschedule prompt must tell (display) you how many time you can reschedule but time grace is not displaying under the reschedule. I am asking the question again ...1. How did she make payment ? 2. Is she physically in Nigeria ? ** My best permutation is that she has payment error. This can be detected by the embassy even after she must have picked a date and the date is now suspended (just my reasoning based on the display of her profile). NOTE:. Do not cancel the appointment because if you do you have officially rejected the appointment and ready to pay another MRV (visa fee). ** Allow tomorrow to go naturally. You need to email the embassy and copy avits amentum with all the error screenshots. Note2. Abandon that profile entirely and start afresh from a new AVITS profile if you are ready to pay a new MRV. Good LucK 👍

Efetobore1980:1. I paid for her from Nigeria, but I used her details. 2. No she is in the USA Also I don't think the date is suspended because it still shows tomorrow on her confirmation letter

EchegAshley1:Hi EchegAshley. Even your studentship (if not PhD in Nigeria or undergraduate in a reputable costly Nigerian University in programs like medicine & surgery, pharmacy etc) is not a tie or a feeble tie not to talk of after school attachment like nysc. You don't even need an NYSC discharge or exception certificate to apply for MSc or PhD in many US Universities so tell me how will a consular take it as a tie ? ** US embassy have hundreds of record of Nigerian undergraduates who have abandoned profitable program of studies in some of the best Nigerian Universities and stayed back in the United States. 👍 |
| Re: General USA Student Visa Enquiries-part 18 by Efetobore1980(m): 7:31pm On Apr 27, 2025 |
zinachidi:**. Well you don't have a choice than to let tomorrow go . After tomorrow don't raise ticket but email the embassy and copy avits amentum. If they did not open the reschedule option then you don't have a choice but to pay another visa fee ** I still believe that payment has error. Fine you were able to book appointment but payment might have been retracted. *** Dont use the profile again if the above solution did not solve it. 👍 |

Efetobore1980:also there is a 120 day ban for no-shows, do you think allowing tomorrow pass naturally is a good idea? |
| Re: General USA Student Visa Enquiries-part 18 by Efetobore1980(m): 7:38pm On Apr 27, 2025 |
zinachidi:**. Even if it's not a good idea it is now a must-do idea 😊 She does not even have OIS for drop off appointment and if she has where is the physical passport that you want to go and drop ? ** Her I 20 is still valid, they cannot cancel it until after the school's resumption date. 👍 Why can't she even stay over and finish her study ? She does not have to come and renew ... Except if she really really want or needs to visit Nigeria. |

Efetobore1980:yeah, she really needs to visit Nigeria. Those guys use auto responses in their emails and tickets, we've raised like 4 with like 3 emails |
