Meanwhile, in Ghana here, they are assuming such roles, .... Federal electoral chairman and state chairmen, by promotions, rather that appointments after every five years.

With that, the chairman of INEC may oversee 5 different electoral circles before he retires. That would insulate him/her significantly from dictate of sitting presidents as we are witnessing now.

I didn't finish reading the bullshit, before I see hand written of the northerners, who believe they are more political calculative than the south to use amending some INEC section to remove Tinubu come 2027. They are not smart instead the southern politicians always feel less concern on issues that need to be caution.

If this is all former kaduna governor, kwankwaso and Atiku can come up with, then they need to replant because it fails before arrival. Mamudu most go by November and allow southern INEC chairman to makes amendment and conduct 2027 election for Tinubu and do Tinubu will come 3031. North should go and seat down. Every body knew that all this their rubbish is about 2031 not 2027.

Your own problems is not to remove Tinubu, and less concern about doing things right.

Firstly,there was no sensible reason for the 1999 constitution to have given a president such powers on an electoral umpire that was supposed to determine the fate of the party of the president!

The president's party is involved and you expect the president to be non partisan in the selection of INEC officials?
This can be likened to mancity being given the powers by the English premier league to determine and appoint referees for all fixtures including theirs!

Lastly to your point,the moment the electoral system have been cleared of all the political influences,their independence will fully be restored!

In order to further strengthen the electoral system after removing the power of political office holders esp the president,an 'independent council' should be setup with the sole power to appoint and select INEC officials including the chairman!
