zinachidi:Sir, What you did is illegal. She does not qualify for IW if she is not in Nigeria..It's illegal. You cannot do this for her. You better cancel this application and tell her to apply for renewal of her F1 by herself in either Mexico or Canada. If she is not leaving the US then she does not need to renew her F1. If you continue with this application the consulate will call her for interview so she better come to Nigeria. |

A.How do I continue to check for available near date after I have already scheduled a date. I navigated to my appointment page and I saw RESCHEDULE AND CANCEL. I don't want to mess anything up, pls if I click on the reschedule will it automatically take way the current scheduled date I have or it will give me access to view other available dates ? B. I saw 5 reschedules available, does it mean I can reschedule up to 5 times? |
| Re: General USA Student Visa Enquiries-part 18 by missidy: 8:20am On Apr 28, 2025 |
Just go to create emergency request, click on it and fill the information. I just told them I need a closer date because my school resumes in August, then I uploaded my i20. It was approved the next day. The problem now is, there are still no dates for Lagos. Only Abuja has dates for May. The whole thing is tiring. Drone95: |

Clicking on reschedule doesn't take away your current date, it's only when you post it and click on confirm that it will change. You have 5 chances to reschedule after your emergency request has been approved. Drone95: |

Click on reschedule, you will see available dates. If you wish to pick any of the available dates, you then proceed. But if you happen not to see a favorable date after clicking reschedule, then you leave it Drone95: |

Solafemsy27:Hello. 17th of April is taking longer than normal . Card payment is almost instant while bank deposit is 24hrs. Any normal MRV payment option (cárd , transfer , physical , etc) should not exceed 48hrs. Going beyond 72hrs is no more normal. Send payment error email to the embassy and copy avits amentum otherwise your money is galloping away. 👍 |
| Re: General USA Student Visa Enquiries-part 18 by LCMedia(m): 6:49pm On Apr 28, 2025 |
Solafemsy27:Did you submit the payment confirmation form after the payment? I believe the payment won’t be captured automatically without you claiming the payment. |

Hello house, Please I need advice on how to go about funding at the embassy. I got denied 2 years ago due to funding issues and I’m trying to avoid it this time around. So my COA is $59k and I got funding of $39k which covers tuition plus a small stipend and I have a $20k deficit which is quite a lot of money. I have 3 options of sponsors whose bank statement I need to take to the embassy and I need advice on the best option. 1. My cousin (my mum’s older brother’s daughter) who is a successful surgeon in the US and earns at least $400k annually. She’s married with 3 kids under 10. We aren’t too close like that but she can help provide her bank statement. 2. My godmother who is a US citizen based in Nigeria. She’s a successful businesswoman and does monthly transactions of 50-100 million. All her kids are done with Uni and based abroad. 3. My professional mentor who is a qualified professional in my field. He is a white American and has been very supportive of my professional development. I have never met him before but I’ve know him for 4 years now and he has paid for my professional exams in the past. He’s elderly and all his kids are done with Uni. He earns $250k plus annually. Please help as I need to act fast in terms of requesting I-20 from the school. Thanks. |

Kemmiiee:Hi Kemi. I was about to enter my study when your query came in which i think is an interesting debate. Number 1, deniedl under INA 214b will not specify your reason of denial so the believe that you were denied for lack of funding is a speculation. NOW let us believe that you were denied for lack of funding (not lack of sponsor) then you are on the verge of repeating the same error because your current funding is like no funding at all. ** All of your sponsors are shaky sponsors but i will pick number 2 if you don't have a choice . Foreign based sponsors will leave you with rigorous drilling at the embassy which can lead to outright visa denial or placement on 221g. Note: If you can have your way let any of your true sponsor deposit the money into your account and use parent/family/or spouse (if you re married) as sponsor. Locally (Nigeria) based entity which is easily verifiable by the consular is the best. 👍 |

missidy:pls do I need to print and sign the i-20 before uploading? Is there a need to write a comprehensive note on the reason for creating emergency request? |
| Re: General USA Student Visa Enquiries-part 18 by missidy: 11:19pm On Apr 28, 2025*. Modified: 6:43am On Apr 29, 2025 |
I printed and signed mine but it isn't compulsory. I just wrote two lines stating the reason for my request, no need for long note. Drone95: |

Hello House My interview is next week , Please I intend to use my bank statement as backup to support my sponsor statement. (My sponsor statement is more than enough, I just want to add something from my end) My plan is to say my parents have been saving these funds with me over the years incase of emergency, however every deposit in the account has narration related to sales of gadget because that’s what I’m into. All deposit in the account is in my name because it was sent from my personal account to the account as savings over the years . Please is it save to go ahead with this, I’ll appreciate your input. |

Hi, Just to clarify — any source of funds that isn’t reflected on your I-20 is practically useless at the embassy. The visa officers strictly work with what’s captured on your I-20. If you submitted your personal bank statement alongside your sponsor’s statement while processing your I-20, and both are reflected on it, then you’re good to go. But if your personal bank statement isn’t showing on your I-20, taking it along to the embassy for your F1 visa interview is pointless. Also, I noticed you said "I just want to add something from my end" — as what exactly? In what capacity? Lol Regarding the transaction narrations in your account, I don't think the VOs really have the time to be checking bank statements talk less of transaction narrations. But in case they will have your time (during your time) lol, why not build a storyline around your business (sales of gadgets)? If the business is legit, you should confidently talk about it. You can even go along with documents to prove the authenticity of the business. My only concern is that I hope the visa officer doesn’t get the impression you’re more of a businessman than a serious student. Toptierworldwid: |

Drone95:I applied two days ago and no response from them. How long do you think I can get a reply? I really need a closer date, in May. I can't even find option to reschedule on my dashboard. |
