Hello fellas,

I started this thread back in 2019. Been off the thread for so long due to circumstances beyond my control. During my away time, I received quite a number of requests for guidance and support.

I am pleased to announce my active return to provide guidance on the thread for potential students wishing to study abroad. Not only in Greece this time but including the rest of the European Union (EU). Keep your questions coming!

Let me clarify what I said about visa matters that generally on the issue of visa, the documents required are the most common ones/processes that most people know: authentication and legalisation of O level certificate, police report, travel insurance,, bank statement etc. I am willing to answer openly here general questions about visa and documents needed but when the issue concerns some clever moves that you need to use to ensure you get the visa, I will only answer such questions privately.[/quote]

Hello people. It's been a looooooong time away from here. Life abroad isn't easy. Anyways, nice to be here again on this thread I started in 2019. Would have loved to be on the thread regularly but it wasn't possible, especially when COVID struck five months after I arrived Greece. Well, that's a story for another day. I will do my best be regular on the thread now. Though, I have been giving guidance to many people who have been contacting me via email. But I will start sharing useful information here hence. Thankyou

For anyone who's just received an offer of admission from a Greek University... What to do next...
As soon as you receive the offer of admission and you officially accepted the offer, tell the university to send a copy of the admission letter to the Greek Consulate in Nigeria and after you have confirmed the letter has been sent to the consulate, you can send an email to the consulate asking for information on what you need to do to apply for a student visa. But I guess you know all the basics for a visa like police report, travel health insurance, medical certificate from a doctor certifying your health status and authentication of your first degree and o'levels at Ministry of education and foreign affairs in Abuja. You will be required to make full tuition fees payment most likely, maybe half, I'm not sure.

But why are some candidates waiting for so long to putting their applications to Greek universities? Anyone interested should endeavour to apply early to receive an offer of admission early enough to give room and enough time for visa application coz Greek student visa application can take quite some time as it depends on the amount of workload on ground.

INFORMATION FOR INTENDING STUDENTS

Getting a job in Greece is hard if you don't speak the Greek language.

Masters students are allowed to work 20 hours a week, that's 4hours/day but that will be during summer when schools are on break.
The possibility of attending full time classes and going to work simultaneously is out of the question because Greek master's programmes are quite intensive, involves lots of group assignments and workload that will take up the greater part of your time!

PICTURES FROM GREECE

These are some pictures I took when I went to work in a village, Kato Nevrokopi, about 3 hours by road from Thessaloniki, Greece's second city, my base.

As can be seen from the date on the photos, it was in 2020. This was during COVID 19 but when the lockdown was relaxed. I spent about 40 days living and working in this village.

Yes, this is a village in Greece. The roads are like what you will find in places where the rich live in Nigeria. Yet, it's a village you are seeing in these pictures.

Enjoy the pictures...

I need any Nigerian who has passed through the process of applying for the student visa at the Embassy of Greece in Abuja to share his/her experience here. I am already gathering documents for the application

Good day Bro,

Please I'm also considering applying to Greece. I would like to know how life is for Foreigners, especially Nigerians. Do they allow student to work while studying and what's the standard of living.
How are you able to cope with living expenses there as a student or it's your sponsor that sent money throughout your study? What is the visa process like and their visa acceptance rate for Nigerians.

Thank you.
