** Yes and No.

If your school is going to write an official email extending the admission yes the I 20 is still valid, you will only need to print out the letter and show any immigration personnel.

But if they want to issue another I 20 in order to update the date then your current I 20 will be void . Ask your school (admission counselor) what do they want to do. Ether of the option is sufficient for you.. 👍

The embassy does not need proof of relationship and if they need it they will put your visa application on hold (221g) and ask you to go and bring the evidence.

US consulars are pure psychologists. No matter how new or strange the story you are taking to the embassy they have treated it before (either physically or in training).

Go with normal application requirements and focus on accurate and consistent communication based on your ds-160 inputs. 👍

I had the same issue last year, I waited for over 6 months nothing was done .. I had to defer my admission and I made another payment but this time around using card option. Pls as much as possible avoid paying cash at first bank… explore the debit card option it is very swift.

Me too I was interviewed by the white man in window 1 on Tuesday 29th, I was the first to be interviewed that morning 😭 he kept my i20 and passport

Any update or follow-up you have done on it so far? Were you asked to submit anything? For my own case, I was given a white a paper and she put asterisk on administrative processing that I will be contacted for further information.

I have been checking the ceac website daily for status updates. It keeps showing “refused” with the date of last status update being my interview date.

Regarding the amount to be in the statement, if the school is insisting on her proof of fund before i20 issuance ,despite being funded by the school, she only needs to simply send a mail to the school to ask for the minimum balance in the account. Also to answer your query about depositing the said amount in her account or not, you have to provide more details about her age, when she graduated, how long she has been working....

If you can only see dates in November, pick a date and use your emergency request except there's a clause to your application.I dont know why you can't see the dates especially August that is available now for Abuja and June for Lagos.
It seems each applicant is shown different dates. Let the experts wade in pls.
Alternatively, be patient and keep checking prayerfully.

You need an I-20 dated in the future (1 month max) if ur school resumption has passed. Also, ask the school for a letter that explain why you’re coming late. Or defer ur admission till summer or fall and request a new i20

Hello Temmy.
If your issue has been rectified your dashboard should display calendar after clicking on pending appointment. Therefore don't rely on notification just keep clicking on pending appointment intermittently. ** The issue should not take more than 72hrs to resolve.

** You may try another idea by creating another avits (temporarily) and in the process use the opportunity to check your payment status (as attached).

Note: Payment error has various form of background cause which is best known by you. When you have tried all official recommendations and it's still the same then you may need to pay another MRV and let an experienced user guide you. 👍
