Most unis abroad are not after paper grades but what you know. Most of them accept third class. I know someone who did masters at one of them, such as Glasgow Caledonian University | Scotland, UK with thrid class. You may tell your cousin to try it.

The last I knew, a few UK schools do admit 3rd class graduates into their Masters programs.

If you have the funds, he can do a to up degree before his Masters.

Students with an HND and a third-class degree can study for a Premaster's and a Master's degree in the UK. In UK universities, the pre-masters program duration is decided by admissions officers based on your cumulative grade point average (CGPA).

Graduating with a third class is not a death sentence. I’m a third class graduate not proud of it but am working as an engineer in one of the giant construction company in Nigeria currently. I hope to further my education but right now let me hustle small. Some people are not book smart but maybe a first class candidate in life. I’m in that category by God grace… all the best.

Some UK Universities do accept 3rd class and even HND for direct masters. I can help with that.

As a 3rd class holder, you have 2 options:

Option 1. Go for Uni's that consider 3rd class for direct masters (I know a about 8 of these uni's in the UK.

Option 2: Go for a Pre-masters (integrated master's)
This can either be 1 term (3 months) or 2 terms (6 months) depending on the institution, afterwards you can now progress for your master's degree.


For Australia:
You can go for a Masters qualifying program, then your Masters degree afterwards.


For HND holders:

You have 3 options -

Option 1. Apply to schools that accept HND for direct masters

Option 2: Go through the Pre-masters route
Option 3: Go for a degree top-up and graduate with BSc/ BA in just 1 year.

I strongly advice against this. It's not worth it. I'd advice one goes for either a direct Masters or a BSc top-up in the UK instead.
