firebreather:yeah.. It's just random... Have you booked an appointment before? |
| Re: Securing Visa To France, Applying From Nigeria... by cucumbar: 3:51pm On May 01, 2025 |
firebreather:you mustn’t tell them you have property. Just have plenty money in your account and good travel history. |

cucumbar:Plenty money does not impress them. Please note that. Good travel history, yes. A good job/viable business and strong ties to Nigeria will add more value than plenty money in your account |

popone:Yes. They really don't expect you to pay for Hotel when you are not sure you will get the visa. It is the booking they want to see. |

For myself, no. But I helped some friends book appointment last week. Right now, I'm not even receiving their OTP messages to proceed with the appointment booking. austino677: |

Yes. Plenty money doesn't do the trick. In fact, if you have bastard money in the account you're submitting, the visa officer might be suspicious that you're trying to elope to their country hence the huge money you've saved up (to support yourself in their country). Unless, you can show other documents to prove them otherwise. Basically, just have enough money that corresponds realistically to your type of job to avoid raised eyebrows when they're looking at your documents. Of course, all these are somewhat inapplicable once you have Schengen travel history. Cashmadam: |

I'll keep checking on France. The travel date is in August, so that gives some kind of buffer but if nothing shows up by next week I'll just move on to Belgium. Just that we heard France has higher approval chances for first time applicants. austino677: |

I'll continue to check. Hopefully, we'll find an appointment slot by next week. Travel date is August, so I'm looking for appointment in July in order to have more days before the travel date I read somewhere that they update the appointments by the first half of the week. Don't know how solid this is but I'll give it it a shot. Also, in case you log on and see that appointments are available, kindly drop a message here. Thanks! austino677: |

Just saw some appointments for August 1st. And it's being taken over fast. I would've taken one too but the travel date would've been too close which is not a good idea for first time Schengen applicants. I tried creating a new application to use in booking the appointment but the TLS system is flagging that the passport number is already on file. Also, I can't change the date on the France visa application portal as it's been confirmed already. I don't even know what to do for now. I guess I'll wait till next week for hopefully more application slots in July. austino677: |

firebreather:.. Next time don't submit the visa form... Just save it... Then use the generated visa number for appointment booking....

austino677:This is exactly what I did for a friend last week before confirming his appointment, but I messed up with this one. austino677:I'll try this right away. austino677:Yes, all European embassies are usually busiest between May and July because a lot of people want to go for summer holidays. |

firebreather:When I checked for my sister, I saw June 23 in Abuja, which was close to her travel date. I waited and checked again and got May 14; perhaps someone cancelled. You may be lucky too |

Wow. Congrats! Jane111:It's very generous of them to give you 3 months on your first Schengen visa. Did you have travel history? If yes, what and what countries? The car ownership papers. Was it only the purchase receipt you submitted or everything that a police officer will usually ask for "Oga, your particulars" at a check point on the road. |

Firstly I believe it was more of God's grace because I have read here how people were been given 10 days etc and to think that we stated that we would be spending only 11 days on the trip. Yes to travel history, US and Canada. Also note that we had both been denied UK visas before. Car ownership papers: When you renew your car papers, there is this proof of ownership that comes with the yearly renewal, so we submitted the proof of ownership that was up to date which was 2025 renewal (just the yearly proof of ownership). firebreather: |

Congratulations Learned One. Please i need clarification on submission of documents, is it physical copies to be submitted or there is a place to upload the documents? Jane111: |
| Re: Securing Visa To France, Applying From Nigeria... by firebreather: 9:38pm On May 03, 2025 |
sirrotex:You'll submit physical copies only. No provision for uploading anything. Make sure to make at least two copies of all your documents before going there. The cost of photocopy is usually higher at the visa processing centres and its environs. |

| Re: Securing Visa To France, Applying From Nigeria... by Jane111: 12:03pm On May 04, 2025 |
Thank you. All physical copies, I must also add that, we initially provided coloured photocopies of our previous visas and the upon learning that the actual passports having the visa stamps were in the car, the TLS official CLEARLY encouraged that we go get them and submit it them along with our application because according to her, the visa officer would rather see the passports stamps directly on the passports than the coloured photocopies. sirrotex: |

Hello please someone should help answer this question. I'll be submitting my documents next week for Netherlands tourist visa through France, but the hotel and flight reservations I made have to be cancelled by the 23rd of May unless I would be charged. Can I go ahead and cancel on the 23rd of May even before the visa is issued? Has anyone been in this situation? Kindly advice. |
