A policeman has come under fire on social media for purportedly lacing the shoe of Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, chairman of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).

In a viral video, Ganduje was standing, while the yet-to-be-identified police officer went on bended knees to knot the former’s shoelaces.

The video which surfaced online on Monday has got people talking.

While some wondered why a police officer in uniform would be caught in such an act, others opined that Ganduje might have played an important role in the officer’s life.

This comes weeks after some police officers were seen in a viral video receiving cash from a Chinese national.

The footage shows uniformed officers lining up as a Chinese man hands them cash gifts.

The incident drew sharp condemnation from the public and human rights advocates, who described it as disgraceful and damaging to the image of the police.

Following the circulation of the footage, the Force Headquarters confirmed that those involved had been identified and would face disciplinary procedures.

Pretty sure his office will get to him, but I know Ganduje will intervene to help him save his job.

However, his posture in the picture is not a sufficient proof that he was lacing Ganduje's shoe.

Nigerians attacking the policeman for what reason? He was given an order and he obeyed. Ganduje should be attacked and not the policeman

Not necessarily. At least not unless there are other aspects of the story eg, whether the orderly was forced to do it.

Someone around that age might genuinely need help with things like this.
