So this guy wasn't expecting them to collect interest right?

These people have been so grounded in their insensitivity that he took a loan n never bothered to pay and when the money was debited all he has to say is "may Nigeria never happen to u"

So can this guy try this in saner climes?

I don't even blame him, check d name n see where he is from first

They blame Nigeria for everything n play victim even when they are wrong
And Nigeria also blame them for everything wrong in Nigeria. For the civil war we blame them, transitioning from regional to federalism we blame them, endears we blame them, terrorism we blame them, when they talk we blame them, when they choose to remain silent we blame them...

That's not the case. There is high level of corruption in it. Some people at the helm of affairs siphon part of the money

I think they took less of what the man should refund plus interest and inflation over 4 years +.

Be thankful.

Update
Someone just said here they took exactly that amount because that was all he had. They might take more in future. Makes sense
Covid loans should be interest free or very low rates but sadly yes they too exactly all he had at the time and might come back for more.

Where in the Loan documents was it mentioned that the whole capital plus interest would be paid at once?
They never sent anyone at repayment form ?

The questions I want to ask this guy are:

1. Did you agree to the terms and conditions of the loan?
2. Did you sign an agreement?
3. Were you shown how much you are expected to pay back?
4. Did you agree?

If you are aware of all of the above and you are here crying, then you are what I cannot say
There was no place in the form where all these were clearly stated. I went to a Nirsal bank and faulted them for this error. They never send reminders or mail borrowers their loan profile.

If you were wise, you would have simply faulted him without bringing any tribal sentiment into your analysis. Unfortunately you ain't, and it's such a pity.

He is very lucky indeed. Check his balance, if he has more than that in his account, they will remove everything 😛😛😛😛.

A Nigerian tailor has lamented bitterly after receiving a debit alert of N580k for a COVID-19 loan he took years ago. He said the money removed from his account was more than the loan he had taken. How much he borrowed years back is in the comments.

the loan interest as at when given was 9% but Tinubu gave the directive to CBN to increase the interest to 18%. The loan given to you was 450k but after taxes and other deductions, it amounted to 400k but on their system it's 450k. I am a victim too. They gave me 750k loan but I was given 710k, now the total sum for me to pay back is about 885k. They deducted 530k from my account without my consent which got me into depression 🫥. Last year they took over 80k from my account while this year they've deducted 420k.

9% per annum. Isn't it more than a year after you collected the loan?
Or, is 9x2 not 18?

When u received credit alert Nigeria didn't happen to you abi? I'm certain that's not all they'll take cos it's supposed to be compound interest for 5 years. Brace for impact bro. Nothing concern Nigeria with this one. This is the problem with our people. U help them, they complain you don't help, they complain.

While you continue yapping trash, just remember to act like a normal human.

If an individual does what you feel is wrong, condemn it and move on. Don't drag the entirety of an ethnicity into it. That's one approach to building a good Nigeria, if you actually care about Nigeria.

not per annum but the interest rate for the whole sum given. It was 9% but Tinubu increased it. After they deducted 420k from my account, I went to NIRSAL office and I was clarified that I still have a deficit of about 370k or thereabout.

This also happened to my friend.

There were no clear cut directives on how to repay the loan.

Moreover, why not split the money in batches?

This is so terrible!!!
It's good how it was done, Nigerians are dubious, if they have taken half, he will close the account, so it was best they take off all their money,
They only waited until the debtor had more than enough, na brain work, they made the debtors forget they are owing and when they had enough in their account, they used counter attack

I wonder how Loan companies are surviving in this Nigeria cos Nigerians do not like to pay back their loans

They're always happy to collect, once it is time to payback, they'll goof.
