But let's look at it this way.
The money belongs to him and he decides what to do with it.
1. He pledged 99% of his wealth meaning he still has 1% which will be over $1billion and he will be 90 years by that 2045 that's even if he will still be alive.
How many people currently worth over $1billion all over the world? And at 90+, it is more than enough for a lifetime. Whereas he has lived a moderate lifestyle over the years.

2. The children will do just fine with what they currently have and with the +$1billion he will leave for them.

I use myself as an example. The tendency of not valuing what u get for free is always there. Thats why africa is not generating value cos we always want things for free.
