Debating something that's long settled. Debate it by yourself. Jesus is God but not the Father. Simple |

Why do your wife ask you for money when she is not your child but an adult and partner not servant in your marriage relationship? It's all about submitting to your office as head of the family, it doesn't mean she can't bypass you to spend her money. but she shows her loyalty and commitment to you by letting you decide for the family how financial resources are spent, she lets you have the lead in everything just because you are head of family. That's what we call submission. As a stubborn human being that most of you are that refuses to honor or submit to another human just because you have small money or can speak small English, you cannot understand the concept of trinity. Except you have an ideal godly family or an ideal Christian church where submission and rmutual respect exists between the head and other partners, you can never understand trinity |

Why did the bible call Jesus God's only begotten son? |

QuinQ:Where most people don't notice is the past tense used in the Bible: John 1:1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. âNIV⏠In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. KJV In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was a god. NWT None said "the word is God" rather they all said the word WAS God. WHY? Because Jesus is the prophet who came in the manner of Moses {Deuteronomy 18:18} and Moses WAS a God! Exodus 7:1 |

MaxInDHouse:MaxInDHouse, greetings to you. Calling Jesus a prophet is reductive and insufficient. While He displayed prophetic traits, such a label does not capture the fullness of His identity. The verse you citedâDeuteronomy 18:18âdoesn't directly refer to Jesus in the way some assume: âI will raise them up a Prophet from among their brethren, like unto thee, and will put my words in his mouth...â This passage initially referred to a line of prophets like Moses. But Moses wasnât âGod over Israelââhe acted as Godâs representative, particularly in confrontation with Pharaoh( was made âlike Godâ to Pharaoh, ). So if Moses wasn't divine, how much more distinct is Jesus, who didn't merely speak for God but spoke as God? Jesus didnât just act like a prophetâHe transcended that role entirely. Prophets were servants in Godâs house (Hebrews 3:5). Jesus is the Son over the house (Hebrews 3:6). Prophets spoke on behalf of God. Jesus spoke as God (John 1:1, 14; John 14:9). Prophets pointed forward to the coming salvation. Jesus is the fulfillment of what they foretold (Luke 24:27; Revelation 19:10). So if Jesus (The WORD) was God and not God as you claim âover whom is He God, and for how long? |

Thankgod89:Peter called Jesus a prophet. Act 3:20, 22, 26 So it's what is written in the Bible that i'm saying! Deuteronomy 18:18 Thankgod89:A God is someone who had authority. So Moses and Jesus were given authority for a period of time that's the same thing that qualified to be called Gods. Psalms 82:1, 6 |
| Re: If Jesus Is God, Why Did He Say 'pray Our Father'? by Thankgod89: 9:48am On May 09, 2025 |
MaxInDHouse:Peter quotes Deuteronomy 18:18 (via verse 22), calling Jesus "that prophet" Moses spoke of. But he is not limiting Jesus to being a mere prophet. Instead, he is showing that Jesus is: The fulfillment of what Moses prophesied, The one Israel was commanded to listen to, And the one whom rejecting would bring judgment (v. 23). Then in verse 26: Acts 3:26 - Unto you first God, having raised up his Son Jesus, sent him to bless you, in turning away every one of you from his iniquities. Here, Peter no longer uses the word âprophetâ but speaks of Jesus as Godâs Son and the risen one who brings blessing and salvationânot just prophecy. Most people called Him what they could comprehendâa prophet, teacher, healer. But Jesusâ true identity was revealed by the Father, testified by the Spirit, and unfolded in His resurrection and ascension. Don't forget Peter spoke to the people of Israel in a way they could understand, using language and references familiar to them. However, it's important to remember that Peter already had a divine revelation of who Jesus truly is. As recorded in Matthew 16:13â17, when Jesus asked, âWho do you say that I am?â, Peter answered, âYou are the Christ, the Son of the living God.â Jesus affirmed this by saying that it was not human insight, but the Father in heaven who revealed this truth to Peter. The statement "A God is someone who had authority" does not fully capture the biblical understanding of God's nature. God is not simply defined by possessing authority; rather, He is the ultimate source of all authority (John 1:3). In Scripture, God is portrayed as the Creator, the Sovereign, and the Supreme Being, whose authority is intrinsic, unlimited, and not something He merely "has." Furthermore, your comparison of Moses to Christ, in relation to authority, is not accurate. While Moses was a faithful servant of God, Jesus, as the Son of God, is the full revelation of God Himselfâfar surpassing Moses in authority and nature. |

Thankgod89:If you feel Peter an apostle of Christ Jesus is wrong who am i? Abeg there's no need arguing that's what the scriptures say! |
| Re: If Jesus Is God, Why Did He Say 'pray Our Father'? by Thankgod89: 10:43am On May 09, 2025 |
MaxInDHouse:Laughing.....no wahala baba. But just know that I donât believe Peter was wrong at allâhe spoke by revelation and with authority as an apostle of Christ. In fact, Iâm aligning with what he understood by revelation from the Father in Matthew 16:16âthat Jesus is the Christ, the Son of the living God. When Peter referred to Jesus as the âProphet like unto Mosesâ in Acts 3, he wasnât reducing Him to just a prophet. He was connecting the dots for Israel, using what they knew to reveal who Jesus truly isâthe promised Messiah and far more than a prophet. So, I'm not arguing with Peter; I'm reading all he said in full context. Scripture doesnât contradict itself, it builds a complete picture when rightly divided. |

If we are to stick to what the scriptures say Jesus is a prophet of God. The difference is simple: his life didn't start from Adamic descendants because he lived in heaven before God transformed his life from the spirit realms into the womb of Mary as an embryo. So unlike all other prophets whose life journey started here Jesus has been with God in the spirit realms before becoming a human here on earth. But as a prophet he also served as one of God's messengers and like Moses who happens to be both prophet and God Jesus played both roles too. |

MaxInDHouse:And what most people don't notice is the present tense used by Jesus HIMSELF: "Before Abraham I AM" |

QuinQ:Yes! Before Abraham Jesus existed. That's what he meant! |
| Re: If Jesus Is God, Why Did He Say 'pray Our Father'? by QuinQ: 11:49am On May 09, 2025 |
MaxInDHouse:Suddenly you no longer pay attention to tense used. HE SAID "I AM" NOT "I WAS"!!! Same "I am" God told Moses was His name. Same great "I Am"! |
| Re: If Jesus Is God, Why Did He Say 'pray Our Father'? by MaxInDHouse(m): 12:14pm On May 09, 2025 |
QuinQ:Naaaaaaaaah, the translator used that in other translations it's rendered differently. For instance: âMost truly I say to you, before Abraham came into existence, I have been.â John 8:58 |
| Re: If Jesus Is God, Why Did He Say 'pray Our Father'? by QuinQ: 2:49pm On May 09, 2025 |
MaxInDHouse:Naaaaaaaaah, you cleverly stopped at verse 58. Continue on to 59: "At this, they picked up stones to stone him..." - because claim to the divine name "I AM" (Exodus 3:14) was considered blasphemous under Jewish law, which prescribed stoning as a punishment for blasphemy. They were right there and heard directly from Jesus while your translators came centuries later. Who are we to believe? Besides, you said Jesus was like Moses. Was Moses also around before Abraham?đ Also, they severally tried to stone Jesus for claiming divinity. Did anybody ever tried to stone Moses for claiming to be God? |

QuinQ:The Jews wanted to kill him for claiming he is from heaven nowhere did Jesus called himself God, all himself and his disciples were saying is SON OF GOD! Matthew 16:16 But if you have anywhere that Jesus or his disciples called him God let me have that verse! ![]() |
| Re: If Jesus Is God, Why Did He Say 'pray Our Father'? by QuinQ: 6:58pm On May 09, 2025 |
MaxInDHouse:You must feel really ridiculous writing this. "For claiming he's from heaven"!đ Where in Jewish law does it say people are to be stoned to death for claiming they're from heaven? Why wasn't John the Baptist stoned to death? Many, many "messiahs" came. Why weren't they stoned to death? You are here, thousands of years later, relying on SOME words He said (that have gone through countless translations and transliterations), yet you know better than people who heard countless of words from him, heard Him directly, and saw His facial expressions and movements while speaking. MaxInDHouse:So it's no more because of coming from heaven, it is now because of Abraham!đ But they themselves said why they wanted to stone him to death in John 10 - "because you, being a man, make yourself God." You still haven't answered the question: was Moses also around before Abraham?đ In the whole history of the Jews who else claimed to be around before their forefathers, or claimed oneness with God? |
| Re: If Jesus Is God, Why Did He Say 'pray Our Father'? by MaxInDHouse(m): 7:20pm On May 09, 2025 |
QuinQ:They thought only God could say he has existed before Abraham nah. But angels have existed even before Adam. So whoever comes from heaven must be one of those living there either God or angel and in this case Jesus didn't claim he was an angel rather God's Son which makes him divine so to speak. ![]() |
| Re: If Jesus Is God, Why Did He Say 'pray Our Father'? by QuinQ: 7:30pm On May 09, 2025 |
MaxInDHouse:Thank you! You finally admit it - "which makes him divine"! So, clearly, he was not like Moses or anybody else. Nobody else was God's son or divine. Well done and God bless |
